1 І Господь промовляв до Мойсея та до Аарона, говорячи їм:

¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

2 П ромовляйте до Ізраїлевих синів, кажучи: Оце та звірина, що будете їсти зо всієї худоби, що на землі:

Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, These are the animals which ye shall eat among all the animals that are on the earth.

3 К ожну з худоби, що має розділені копита, і що має копита роздвоєні розривом, що жує жуйку, її будете їсти.

Whatever divides the hoof and is clovenfooted and chews the cud, among the animals, that shall you eat.

4 Т ільки цього не будете їсти з тих, що жують жуйку, і з тих, що мають розділені копита: верблюда, бо він жує жуйку, та розділених копит не має, нечистий він для вас.

Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of those that chew the cud or of those that divide the hoof: the camel because it chews the cud but divides not the hoof; it is unclean unto you.

5 І тушканчика, бо він жує жуйку, та не має розділених копит, нечистий він для вас.

And the coney because it chews the cud, but divides not the hoof: it is unclean unto you.

6 І зайця, бо він жує жуйку, та не має розділених копит, нечистий він для вас.

And the hare because it chews the cud, but divides not the hoof: it is unclean unto you.

7 І свині, бо вона має розділені ратиці, і має ратиці роздвоєні розривом, та жуйки не жує, нечиста вона для вас.

And the swine though it divides the hoof and is clovenfooted, yet it chews not the cud: it is unclean to you.

8 Ї хнього м'яса не будете їсти, а до їхнього падла не будете доторкатися, нечисте воно для вас.

Of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcase you shall not touch: they are unclean to you.

9 О це будете їсти зо всього, що в воді: усе, що має плавці та луску в воді, у морях та в річках, їх будете їсти.

¶ These shall you eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, those shall you eat.

10 А все, що не має плавців та луски в морях і в річках, зо всього, що роїться в воді, і зо всього, що пливає в воді, гидота вони для вас!

But all that have not fins and scales in the seas and in the rivers, of any reptile in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you;

11 І вони будуть гидота для вас, їхнього м'яса не будете їсти, а їхнього падла будете бридитися.

they shall be an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, and ye shall have their carcasses in abomination.

12 У се, що не має плавців та луски в воді, гидота воно для вас.

Whatever has no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

13 А з птаства будете бридитися оцього, не будете їх їсти, гидота вони: орла, грифа й морського орла,

And these ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they shall be an abomination: the eagle, the ossifrage, the ospray,

14 і коршака, і сокола за родом його,

the vulture, and the kite according to his species,

15 у сякого крука за родом його,

every raven according to his species,

16 і струся, і сови, і яструба за родом його,

the owl, the night hawk, the cuckow, and the hawk according to his species;

17 і пугача, і рибалки, та ібіса,

the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,

18 і лебедя, і пелікана, і сича,

the swan, the pelican, the gier eagle,

19 і бусла, чаплі за родом її, і одуда, і нетопира.

the stork, the heron according to her species, the lapwing, and the bat.

20 У ся комашня, що ходить на чотирьох, гидота вона для вас.

¶ Every flying insect that creeps, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

21 Т ільки те будете їсти зо всієї комашні, що ходить на чотирьох, що має голінки вище своїх ніг, щоб ними скакати на землі.

Yet these may ye eat of every flying insect that goes upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap with them upon the earth;

22 О ці серед них будете їсти: сарану за родом її, і сол'ам за родом його, і харґол за родом його, і хаґав за родом його.

these of them ye may eat: the locust according to his species and the bald locust according to his species and the beetle according to his species and the grasshopper according to his species.

23 А вся гадина летюча, що має чотири ноги, гидота вона для вас.

But all other flying insects, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

24 І через них ви будете ставати нечисті: кожен, хто доторкнеться до їхнього падла, буде нечистий аж до вечора.

And for these ye shall be unclean: whoever touches their carcase shall be unclean until the evening.

25 А кожен, хто понесе що з їхнього падла, випере одежу свою, і буде нечистий аж до вечора.

And whoever bears any part of their carcase shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.

26 Щ одо всякої худоби, що має розділене копито, і що не має роздвоєного розривом копита, і жуйки не жує, нечисті вони для вас. Кожен, хто доторкнеться до них, буде нечистий.

The carcasses of every animal which divides the hoof and is not clovenfooted, nor chews the cud, are unclean unto you; everyone that touches them shall be unclean.

27 А кожне серед усякої звірини, що ходить на лапах своїх, що ходить на чотирьох, нечисті вони для вас. Кожен, хто доторкнеться до їхнього падла, буде нечистий аж до вечора.

And of all the animals that go on all four, any that walk upon their paws are unclean unto you; whoever touches their carcase shall be unclean until the evening.

28 А хто носить їхнє падло, випере одежу свою, і буде нечистий аж до вечора. Нечисті вони для вас.

And he that bears their carcase shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening; they are unclean unto you.

29 А оце вам нечисте серед плазунів, що плазують по землі: кріт, і миша, і ящірка за родом її,

These also shall be unclean unto you among the animals that creep upon the earth: the weasel and the mouse and the frog according to his species

30 і ховрах, і щур, і слимак, і їжак, і тхір.

and the ferret and the lizard and the snail and the slug and the mole.

31 О ці нечисті для вас серед усього плазуючого. Кожен, хто доторкнеться до них, коли вони мертві, буде нечистий аж до вечора.

These are unclean to you among all the animals; whoever touches them, when they are dead, shall be unclean until the evening.

32 І все, що впаде на нього, коли вони мертві, буде нечисте, кожна річ, з дерева, або з одежі, або зо шкури, або з грубої тканини, кожна річ, що вживається до праці, в воду треба покласти їх, і будуть нечисті аж до вечора, а потому стануть чистими.

And everything upon which any of them falls when they are dead shall be unclean, whether it be any vessel of wood or clothing or skin or sack, whatever instrument with which work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; and thus it shall be cleansed.

33 А всякий глиняний посуд, що з них упаде що до його середини, усе, що в середині його, стане нечисте, а його розіб'єте.

And every earthen vessel into which any of them falls, whatever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break the vessel.

34 К ожна їжа, що їсться, на якій була вода з такого посуду, буде нечиста; а кожен напій, що п'ється, у кожнім такім посуді стане нечистим.

All food which may be eaten upon which shall come water from any such vessel shall be unclean; and any drink that may be drunk shall be unclean in every such vessel.

35 І все, що на нього впаде з їхнього падла, стане нечисте: піч та огнище буде розвалене, вони нечисті, і нечисті будуть для вас.

And everything upon which any part of their carcase falls shall be unclean: the oven or the chimney shall be broken down, for they are unclean and shall be unclean unto you.

36 Т ільки джерело та яма, збір води, будуть чисті. А хто доторкнеться до їхнього падла, буде нечистий.

Nevertheless a fountain or cistern where water is collected shall be clean; but that which touches their carcase shall be unclean.

37 А коли що впаде з їхнього падла на всяке насіння сівби, що сіється, чисте воно.

And if any part of their carcase falls upon any sown seed which is sown, it shall be clean.

38 А коли буде налита вода на насіння, і впаде на нього з їхнього падла, нечисте воно для вас.

But if any water is put upon the seed and any part of their carcase falls thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.

39 А коли помре що з худоби, що вона на їжу для вас, то хто доторкнеться падла її, той буде нечистий аж до вечора.

And if any animal of which ye may eat dies, he that touches the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the evening;

40 А хто їсть із падла її, той випере одежу свою, і буде нечистий аж до вечора. І хто носить падло її, той випере одежу свою, і буде нечистий аж до вечора.

and he that eats of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening; likewise he that bears the carcase of it shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.

41 А все плазуюче, що плазує по землі, гидота воно, не буде їстися.

And every reptile that creeps upon the earth is an abomination; it shall not be eaten.

42 У се, що повзає на животі, і все, що повзає на чотирьох, аж до всього, що багатоножне, усе плазуюче, що плазує по землі, не будете їх їсти, бо гидота вони.

Whatever goes upon the belly and whatever goes upon four or more feet among all reptiles that creep upon the earth, ye shall not eat; for it is abomination.

43 Н е занечищуйте душ своїх усім плазуючим, що плазує, і не зробитеся нечисті ними, і не станете нечисті ними.

¶ Ye shall not defile your souls with any reptile that creeps, neither shall ye contaminate yourselves with them, that ye should be unclean with them.

44 Б о Я Господь, Бог ваш, і ви освятитеся, і будьте святі, бо святий Я, і не занечищуйте душ своїх усяким плазуючим, що плазує по землі.

For I am the LORD your God; ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy; neither shall ye defile your souls with any reptile that moves upon the earth.

45 Б о Я Господь, що вивів вас із єгипетського краю, щоб бути для вас Богом. І будьте святі, бо святий Я.

For I am the LORD that causes you to come up out of the land of Egypt to be your God; ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

46 О це закон про худобу, і про птаство, і про всяку живу звірину, що рухається в воді, і про всяку душу, що плазує по землі,

This is the law of the animals and of the fowls and of every living creature that moves in the waters and of every animal that creeps upon the earth:

47 щ об відділювати між нечистим та між чистим, і між звіриною, що їсться, та між звіриною, що не їсться.

to make a difference between the unclean and the clean and between the animals that may be eaten and the animals that may not be eaten.
