1 Д авидів. Судися, о Господи, з тими, хто судиться зо мною воюй з тими, хто зо мною воює,

¶ Plead my cause, O LORD, with those that strive with me; fight against those that fight against me.

2 в ізьми малого й великого щита, і встань мені на допомогу!

Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up in my help.

3 Д істань списа, і дорогу замкни моїм напасникам, скажи до моєї душі: Я спасіння твоє!

Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against those that persecute me; say unto my soul; I am thy saving health.

4 Н ехай засоромляться й будуть поганьблені ті, хто чатує на душу мою; хай відступлять назад і нехай посоромляться ті, хто лихо мені замишляє.

Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul; let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

5 Б одай вони стали, немов та полова на вітрі, і Ангол Господній нехай їх жене;

Let them be as chaff before the wind, and let the angel of the LORD chase them.

6 н ехай буде дорога їхна темна й сковзька, і Ангол Господній нехай їх жене,

Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.

7 б о вони безпричинно тенета свої розставляють на мене, яму копають безвинно на душу мою!

For without cause they have hid their net for me in a pit, which without cause they have dug for my soul.

8 Н ехай нагла загибіль, якої не знає, на нього спаде, і сітка його, яку він наставив, хай зловить його у нагле нещастя, бодай він до нього упав!

Let destruction come upon him at unawares, and let his net that he has hid catch himself; into that very destruction let him fall.

9 А душа моя в Господі буде радіти, звеселиться Його допомогою!

And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD; it shall rejoice in his saving health.

10 С кажуть усі мої кості: Господи, хто подібний до Тебе? Ти рятуєш убогого від сильнішого над нього, покірного та бідаря від його дерія.

All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, who delivers the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoils him?

11 С відки встають неправдиві, чого я не знав питають мене,

¶ False witnesses rose up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.

12 в іддають мені злом за добро, осирочують душу мою!

They rewarded me evil for good until my soul was alone.

13 А я, як вони хворували були, зодягався в верету, душу свою мучив постом, молитва ж моя поверталась на лоно моє...

But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled my soul with fasting, and my prayer rose up in my bosom.

14 Я к приятель, буцім то брат він для мене, так я ходив, ніби був я в жалобі по матері, був я засмучений, схилений...

I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother; I bowed down heavily, as one that mourns for his mother.

15 А вони, як упав я, радіють та сходяться, напасники проти мене збираються, я ж не знаю про те; кричать, і не вмовкають,

But in my adversity they rejoiced and gathered themselves together; yea, the smiters gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they tore me apart and did not cease:

16 з дармоїдами та пересмішниками скрегочуть на мене своїми зубами...

With immature hypocritical mockers, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

17 Г осподи, чи довго Ти будеш дивитись на це? Відверни мою душу від їхніх зубів, від отих левчуків одиначку мою!

¶ Lord, how long wilt thou look on? Restore my soul from their destructions, my life from the lions.

18 Я буду Тебе прославляти на зборах великих, буду Тебе вихваляти в численнім народі!

I will give thee thanks in the great congregation; I will praise thee among many people.

19 Н ехай з мене не тішаться ті, хто ворогує на мене безвинно, нехай ті не моргають очима, хто мене без причини ненавидить,

Let not those that are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me; neither let those that hate me wink with the eye without a cause.

20 б о говорять вони не про мир, але на спокійних у краї облудні слова вимишляють,

For they do not speak peace, but they devise deceitful matters against those that are meek in the land.

21 с вої уста на мене вони розкривають, говорять: Ага, ага! Наші очі це бачили!

Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me and said, Aha, aha, our eye has seen it.

22 Т и бачив це, Господи, не помовчи ж, Господи, не віддаляйся від мене!

This thou hast seen, O LORD; do not keep silence; O Lord, do not be far from me.

23 У стань, і збудися на суд мій, Боже мій і Господи мій, на суперечку мою,

Stir up thyself and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.

24 р озсуди Ти мене до Своїй справедливості, Господи, Боже мій, і нехай через мене не тішаться,

Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.

25 н ехай не говорять у серці своїм: Ага, його маємо ми, хай не кажуть вони: Ми його проковтнули...

Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it; let them not say, We have swallowed him up.

26 Н ехай посоромляться та застидаються разом, хто з мого нещастя радіє, бодай вбрались у сором та в ганьбу, хто рота свого розкриває на мене!

Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at my hurt; let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.

27 Х ай співають та звеселяються ті, хто бажає мені правоти, і нехай кажуть завжди: Хай буде великий Господь, що миру бажає Своєму рабові!

Let them shout for joy and be glad that favour my righteous cause; let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the peace of his slave.

28 А язик мій звіщатиме правду Твою, славу Твою кожен день!

And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
