¶ How amiable are thy habitations, O LORD of the hosts!

2 ( 84-3) Затужена та омліває душа моя за подвір'ями Господа, моє серце та тіло моє линуть до Бога Живого!

My soul longs, and even faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh sing to the living God.

3 ( 84-4) і пташка знаходить домівку, і кубло собі ластівка, де кладе пташенята свої, при жертівниках Твоїх, Господи Саваоте, Царю мій і Боже мій!

Even the sparrow has found a house and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young upon thine altars, O LORD of the hosts, my King and my God.

4 ( 84-5) Блаженні, хто мешкає в домі Твоїм, вони будуть повіки хвалити Тебе! Села.

Happy are those that dwell in thy house; they shall continually praise thee. Selah.

5 ( 84-6) Блаженна людина, що в Тобі має силу свою, блаженні, що в їхньому серці дороги до Тебе,

Happy is the man whose strength is in thee, in whose heart are thy ways,

6 ( 84-7) ті, що через долину Плачу переходять, чинять її джерелом, і дощ ранній дає благословення!

who passing through the valley of Baca, shall make it a well; the rain also shall fill the pools.

7 ( 84-8) Вони ходять від сили до сили, і показуються перед Богом у Сіоні.

They go forth in a great multitude; and in order, they shall see God in Zion.

8 ( 84-9) Господи, Боже Саваоте, послухай молитву мою, почуй, Боже Яковів! Села.

¶ O LORD God of the hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

9 ( 84-10) Щите наш, поглянь же, о Боже, і придивись до обличчя Свого помазанця!

Behold, O God our shield and look upon the face of thine anointed,

10 ( 84-11) Ліпший бо день на подвір'ях Твоїх, аніж тисяча в іншому місці, я б вибрав сидіти при порозі дому Бога мого, аніж жити в наметах безбожности!

for a day in thy courts is better than a thousand outside of them. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 ( 84-12) Бо сонце та щит Господь, Бог! Господь дає милість та славу, добра не відмовляє усім, хто в невинності ходить.

For the LORD God is a sun and shield unto us; the LORD will give grace and glory; he will not withhold good from those that walk uprightly.

12 ( 84-13) Господи Саваоте, блаженна людина, що на Тебе надіється!

O LORD of the hosts, happy is the man that trusts in thee.
