1 ( 28-69) Оце слова заповіту, що наказав був Господь Мойсеєві скласти з Ізраїлевими синами в моавському краї, окрім того заповіту, що склав був із ними на Хориві.

¶ These are the words of the covenant, which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the sons of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.

2 ( 29-1) І скликав Мойсей усього Ізраїля та й сказав їм: Ви бачили все, що зробив був Господь на ваших очах в єгипетськім краї фараонові, і всім рабам його та всьому його краєві,

Moses, therefore, called unto all Israel and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh and unto all his slaves and unto all his land,

3 ( 29-2) ті великі випробування, що бачили очі твої, ті великі ознаки та чуда,

the great trials which thine eyes have seen, the signs and those great miracles.

4 ( 29-3) та не дав вам Господь серця, щоб пізнати, і очей, щоб бачити, і ушей, щоб слухати, аж до дня цього.

Yet the LORD has not given you a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear until today.

5 ( 29-4) І провадив я вас сорок літ пустинею, не зужилися одежі ваші на вас, а чобіт твій не зужився на твоїй нозі.

And I have brought you forty years through the wilderness; your clothes are not waxed old upon you, and neither has thy shoe waxed old upon thy foot.

6 ( 29-5) Не їли ви хліба, і вина та п'янкого напою не пили ви, щоб пізнати, що Я Господь, Бог ваш.

Ye have never eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink that ye might know that I am the LORD your God.

7 ( 29-6) А коли ви прийшли до цього місця, то вийшов був навперейми вас на війну Сигон, цар хешбонський, та Оґ, цар башанський, і побили ми їх,

And when ye came unto this place, Sihon, the king of Heshbon, and Og, the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them;

8 ( 29-7) і забрали ми їхній край, та й дали його на спадок Рувимовим та Ґадовим та половині племени Манасіїного.

and we took their land and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites and to the half tribe of Manasseh.

9 ( 29-8) Додержуй же слів цього заповіту, і виконуй їх, щоб мали ви поводження в усьому, що будете робити.

Thou shalt keep, therefore, the words of this covenant and do them that ye may understand all that ye do.

10 ( 29-9) Ви стоїте сьогодні всі перед лицем Господа, Бога вашого: голови ваші, племена ваші, старші ваші та урядники ваші, усякий Ізраїлів муж,

¶ Ye stand today, all of you, before the LORD your God, your princes of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,

11 ( 29-10) діти ваші, ваші жінки та твій приходько, що посеред таборів твоїх від колія дров твоїх аж до черпача твоєї води,

your little ones, your wives, and thy strangers that dwell within thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water,

12 ( 29-11) щоб ти ввійшов у заповіт Господа, Бога свого, та в клятву Його, що Господь, Бог твій, сьогодні складає з тобою,

that thou may enter into covenant with the LORD thy God and into his oath, which the LORD thy God makes with thee today,

13 ( 29-12) щоб поставити сьогодні тебе народом для Себе, а Він буде тобі Богом, як Він говорив був тобі, і як присягнув був батькам твоїм, Авраамові, Ісакові та Якову.

to confirm thee today as his people and that he may be unto thee as God, as he has said unto thee, and as he has sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

14 ( 29-13) І не з вами самими я складаю цього заповіта та цю клятву,

Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath,

15 ( 29-14) але теж і з тим, хто тут з нами сьогодні стоїть перед лицем Господа, Бога нашого, так і з тим, хто сьогодні не з нами тут.

but with those that stand here with us today before the LORD our God and also with those that are not here with us today.

16 ( 29-15) Бо ви знаєте, що ми сиділи були в єгипетськім краї, і що ми проходили серед тих народів, які ви перейшли,

For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt, and how we came through the Gentiles which ye passed by;

17 ( 29-16) І ви бачили їхні огиди та їхніх бовванів, дерево та камінь, срібло та золото, що з ними.

and ye have seen their abominations and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which they have among them.

18 ( 29-17) Стережіться, щоб не був серед вас чоловік або жінка, або рід, або плем'я, що серце його сьогодні відвертається від Господа, Бога нашого, щоб піти служити богам цих народів, щоб не був серед вас корінь, що вирощує їдь та полин,

Peradventure there shall be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turns away today from the LORD our God to go and serve the gods of those Gentiles; peradventure there shall be among you a root that bears poison and wormwood;

19 ( 29-18) щоб не було, що коли він почує слова цього прокляття, то поблагословиться в серці своїм, говорячи: Мир буде мені, хоч і ходитиму в сваволі свого серця. Тоді загине і напоєний, і спрагнений.

and it shall be, when that one hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of my heart, to add drunkenness to thirst.

20 ( 29-19) Не захоче Господь простити йому, бо тоді запалиться Господній гнів та лютість Його на цього чоловіка, і буде лежати на ньому все прокляття, написане в цій книзі, і Господь витре ім'я його з-під неба.

The LORD will not forgive him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.

21 ( 29-20) І відділить його Господь на зло від усіх Ізраїлевих племен, згідно з усіма прокляттями заповіту, написаного в цій книзі Закону.

And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law.

22 ( 29-21) І скаже останнє покоління, ваші сини, що постануть за вами, і чужий, що прийде з далекої країни, і побачить порази цього Краю та його хвороби, які пошле Господь на нього:

So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD has laid upon it,

23 ( 29-22) сірка та сіль, погорілище уся земля його, не буде вона засіювана, і не пустить рослин, і не зійде на ній жодна трава, як по знищенні Содому та Гомори, Адми та Цевоїму, що поруйнував був Господь у гніві Своїм та в люті Своїй.

and that the whole land thereof is brimstone and salt and burning, that it is not sown, nor shall it produce anything, nor shall any grass grow therein, like in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger and in his wrath;

24 ( 29-23) І скажуть усі ті народи: Для чого Господь зробив так цьому Краєві? Що то за горіння цього великого гніву?

even all Gentiles shall say, Why has the LORD done thus unto this land? What means the heat of this great anger?

25 ( 29-24) І скажуть: За те, що вони покинули заповіта Господа, Бога своїх батьків, якого Він склав був із ними, коли виводив їх з єгипетського краю.

Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt;

26 ( 29-25) І вони пішли, і служили іншим богам, і вклонялися їм, богам, що не знали їх, і що Він не приділив їм.

for they went and served other gods and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not and who had not given anything unto them.

27 ( 29-26) І запалився Господній гнів на цей Край, щоб навести на нього все прокляття, написане в цій книзі.

Therefore, the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book.

28 ( 29-27) І вирвав їх Господь з-над цієї землі в гніві, і в люті, і в великім обуренні, та й кинув їх до іншого краю, як цього дня.

And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger and in wrath and in great indignation and cast them into another land, as it is today.

29 ( 29-28) Закрите те, що є Господа, Бога нашого, а відкрите наше та наших синів аж навіки, щоб виконувати всі слова цього Закону.

The hidden things of the LORD our God are uncovered unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
