1 П салом навчальний, Давида, коли був у печері. Молитва. (142-2) Мій голос до Господа, я кличу, мій голос до Господа, я благаю!

¶ I shall cry unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice shall I ask the LORD for mercy.

2 ( 142-3) Перед обличчям Його виливаю я мову свою, про недолю свою я розказую перед обличчям Його,

I shall pour out my complaint before him; before him I shall tell of my trouble.

3 ( 142-4) коли омліває мій дух у мені. А Ти знаєш дорогу мою: на дорозі, якою ходжу, пастку для мене сховали!

When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou didst know my path. In the way in which I walked have they secretly laid a snare for me.

4 ( 142-5) Праворуч поглянь і побач: немає нікого знайомого, загинув притулок від мене, ніхто не питає за душу мою...

¶ I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no one that would know me; I had no refuge; no one cared for my soul.

5 ( 142-6) Я кличу до Тебе, о Господи, я кажу: Ти моє пристановище, доля моя у країні живих!

I cried unto thee, O LORD; I said, Thou art my hope and my portion in the land of the living.

6 ( 142-7) Прислухайся ж Ти до благання мого, бо зробився я зовсім нужденний! Визволь мене від моїх переслідників, бо стали сильніші від мене вони!

Attend unto my cry, for I am brought very low; deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.

7 ( 142-8) Виведи душу мою із в'язниці, щоб славити Ймення Твоє! Праведні оточать мене, як учиниш добро надо мною!

Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name; the righteous shall feast with me; when thou shalt have weaned me.
