1 A fter the very bad disease came on the people because of Israel’s sin, the Lord said to Moses and Eleazar the son of Aaron the religious leader,

Depois daquela praga disse o Senhor a Moisés e a Eleazar, filho do sacerdote Arão:

2 “ Add the numbers of all the people of Israel who are twenty years old and older, by their fathers’ houses. Number whoever in Israel is able to go to war.”

Tomai a soma de toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel, da idade de vinte anos para cima, segundo as casas e seus pais, todos os que em Israel podem sair ã guerra.

3 S o Moses and Eleazar the religious leader said to the people in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho,

Falaram-lhes, pois, Moisés e Eleazar o sacerdote, nas planícies de Moabe, junto ao Jordão, na altura de Jericó, dizendo:

4 “ Number the people who are twenty years old and older, as the Lord has told Moses.” Now these were the sons of Israel who came out of the land of Egypt.

Contai o povo da idade de vinte anos para cima; como o Senhor ordenara a Moisés e aos filhos de Israel que saíram da terra do Egito.

5 R euben was the first-born son of Israel. Reuben’s sons were the family of the Hanochites from Hanoch, the family of the Palluites from Pallu,

Rúben, o primogênito de Israel; os filhos de Rúben: de Hanoque, a família dos hanoquitas; de Palu, a família dos paluítas;

6 t he family of the Hezronites from Hezron, and the family of the Carmites from Carmi.

de Hezrom, a família dos hezronitas; de Carmi, a família dos carmitas.

7 T hese are the families of the Reubenites, and their number was 43, 730.

Estas são as famílias dos rubenitas; os que foram deles contados eram quarenta e três mil setecentos e trinta.

8 E liab was the son of Pallu.

E o filho de Palu: Eliabe.

9 T he sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. These are Dathan and Abiram who were chosen by the people and who joined with Korah to argue against Moses and Aaron. They argued against the Lord,

11 B ut the sons of Korah did not die.

Todavia os filhos de Corá não morreram.

12 T he sons of Simeon by their families were the family of the Nemuelites from Nemuel, the family of the Jaminites from Jamin, the family of the Jachinites from Jachin,

Os filhos de Simeão, segundo as suas famílias: de Nemuel, a família dos nemuelitas; de Jamim, a família dos jaminitas; de Jaquim, a família dos jaquinitas;

15 T he sons of Gad by their families were the family of the Zephonites from Zephon, the family of the Haggites from Haggi, the family of the Shunites from Shuni,

Os filhos de Gade, segundo as suas famílias: de Zefom, a família dos zefonitas; de Hagui, a família dos haguitas; de Suni, a família dos sunitas;

19 T he sons of Judah were Er and Onan. But Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.

Os filhos de Judá: Er e Onã; mas Er e Onã morreram na terra de Canaã.

20 T he sons of Judah by their families were the family of the Shelanites from Shelah, the family of the Perezites from Perez, and the family of the Zerahites from Zerah.

Assim os filhos de Judá, segundo as suas famílias, eram: de Selá, a família dos selanitas; de Pérez, a família dos perezitas; de Zerá, a família dos zeraítas.

21 T he sons of Perez were the family of the Hezronites from Hezron, and the family of the Hamulites from Hamul.

Estas são as famílias de Judá, segundo os que foram deles contados, setenta e seis mil e quinhentos.

23 T he sons of Issachar by their families were the family of the Tolaites from Tola, the family of the Punites from Puvah,

Os filhos de Issacar, segundo as suas famílias: de Tola, a família dos tolaítas; de Puva, a família dos puvitas;

24 t he family of the Jashubites from Jashub, and the family of the Shimronites from Shimron.

25 T hese are the families of Issachar. Their number was 64, 300.

Estas são as famílias de Issacar, segundo os que foram deles contados, sessenta e quatro mil e trezentos:

26 T he sons of Zebulun by their families were the family of the Seredites from Sered, the family of the Elonites from Elon, and the family of the Jahleelites from Jahleel.

Os filhos de Zebulom, segundo as suas famílias: de Serede, a família dos sereditas; de Elom, a família dos elonitas; de Jaleel, a família dos jaleelitas.

27 T hese are the families of the Zebulunites. Their number was 60, 500.

Estas são as famílias dos zebulonitas, segundo os que foram deles contados, sessenta mil e quinhentos.

28 T he sons of Joseph by their families were Manasseh and Ephraim.

Os filhos de José, segundo as suas familias: Manassés e Efraim.

29 T he sons of Manasseh were the family of the Machirites from Machir, and the family of the Gileadites from Gilead. Machir was the father of Gilead.

33 H epher’s son Zelophehad had no sons, but only daughters. The names of Zelophehad’s daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah.

Ora, Zelofeade, filho de Hefer, não tinha filhos, senão filhas; e as filhas de Zelofeade chamavam-se Macla, Noa, Hogla, Milca e Tirza.

34 T hese were the families of Manasseh. Their number was 52, 700.

Estas são as famílias de Manassés; os que foram deles contados, eram cinqüenta e dois mil e setecentos.

35 T he sons of Ephraim by their families were the family of the Shuthelaites from Shuthelah, the family of the Becherites from Becher, and the family of the Tahanites from Tahan.

Estes são os filhos de Efraim, segundo as suas famílias: de Sutela, a família dos sutelaítas; de Bequer, a família dos bequeritas; de Taã, a família dos taanitas.

36 T he sons of Shuthelah were the family of the Eranites from Eran.

E estes são os filhos de Sutela: de Erã, a família dos eranitas.

38 T he sons of Benjamin by their families were the family of the Belaites from Bela, the family of the Ashbelites from Ashbel, the family of the Ahiramites from Ahiram,

Os filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias: de Belá, a família dos belaítas; de Asbel, a família dos asbelitas; de Airão, a família dos airamitas;

39 t he family of the Shuphamites from Shupham, and the family of the Huphamites from Hupham.

40 T he sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman, the family of the Ardites from Ard, and the family of the Naamites from Naaman.

Estes são os filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias; os que foram deles contados, eram quarenta e cinco mil e seiscentos.

42 T he sons of Dan by their families were the family of the Shuhamites from Shuham. These are the families of Dan by their families.

51 T hose who were numbered of the sons of Israel were 601, 730.

Estes são os que foram contados dos filhos de Israel, seiscentos e um mil setecentos e trinta.

52 T he Lord said to Moses,

Disse mais o senhor a Moisés:

53 “ The land will be divided among these people by the number of names.

A estes se repartirá a terra em herança segundo o número dos nomes.

54 G ive more land to the larger group. Give less land to the smaller group. Each family should be given land by the number of its people.

 tribo de muitos darás herança maior, e ã de poucos darás herança menor; a cada qual se dará a sua herança segundo os que foram deles contados.

55 B ut the land should be divided by drawing names. They will receive their land by the names of the families of their fathers.

Todavia a terra se repartirá por sortes; segundo os nomes das tribos de seus pais a herdarão.

56 T he land will be divided between the larger and smaller groups by the names that are drawn.”

Segundo sair a sorte, se repartirá a herança deles entre as tribos de muitos e as de poucos.

57 T hose who were numbered of the Levites by their families were the family of the Gershonites from Gershon, the family of the Kohathites from Kohath, and the family of the Merarites from Merari.

Também estes são os que foram contados dos levitas, segundo as suas famílias: de Gérson, a família dos gersonitas; de Coate, a família dos coatitas; de Merári, a família os meraritas.

58 T he families of Levi were the Libnites, the Hebronites, the Mahlites, the Mushites, and the Korahites. Kohath was the father of Amram.

Estas são as famílias de Levi: a família dos libnitas, a família dos hebronitas, a família dos malitas, a família dos musitas, a família dos coraítas. Ora, Coate gerou a Anrão.

59 T he name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi. She was born to Levi in Egypt. And she gave birth to Amram’s children, Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam.

E a mulher de Anrão chamava-se Joquebede, filha de Levi, a qual nasceu a Levi no Egito; e de Anrão ela teve Arão e Moisés, e Miriã, irmã deles.

60 A aron was the father of Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

E a Arão nasceram Nadabe e Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.

61 B ut Nadab and Abihu died when they burned fire that was not holy before the Lord.

Mas Nadabe e Abiú morreram quando ofereceram fogo estranho perante o Senhor.

62 T he number of all of their males a month old and older was 23, 000. For they were not numbered among the people of Israel, because no land was given to them among the people of Israel.

E os que foram deles contados eram vinte e três mil, todos os homens da idade de um mês para cima; porque não foram contados entre os filhos de Israel, porquanto não lhes foi dada herança entre os filhos de Israel.

63 T hese are the people who were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the religious leader. They numbered the sons of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

Esses são os que foram contados por Moisés e Eleazar, o sacerdote, que contaram os filhos de Israel nas planícies de Moabe, junto ao Jordão, na altura de Jericó.

64 B ut among all these was not one of those numbered by Moses and Aaron the religious leader when the people of Israel were numbered in the Desert of Sinai.

Entre esses, porém, não se achava nenhum daqueles que tinham sido contados por Moisés e Arão, o sacerdote, quando contaram os filhos de Israel no deserto de Sinai.

65 F or the Lord had said of them, “For sure they will die in the desert.” There was not a man left of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

Porque o senhor dissera deles: Certamente morrerão no deserto; pelo que nenhum deles ficou, senão Calebe, filho de Jefoné, e Josué, filho de Num.
