1 A fter the very bad disease came on the people because of Israel’s sin, the Lord said to Moses and Eleazar the son of Aaron the religious leader,

Aconteció después de la mortandad, que Jehová habló a Moisés y a Eleazar hijo del sacerdote Aarón, diciendo:

2 “ Add the numbers of all the people of Israel who are twenty years old and older, by their fathers’ houses. Number whoever in Israel is able to go to war.”

Tomad el censo de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, de veinte años arriba, por las casas de sus padres, todos los que pueden salir a la guerra en Israel.

3 S o Moses and Eleazar the religious leader said to the people in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho,

Y Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar hablaron con ellos en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán frente a Jericó, diciendo:

4 “ Number the people who are twenty years old and older, as the Lord has told Moses.” Now these were the sons of Israel who came out of the land of Egypt.

Contaréis el pueblo de veinte años arriba, como mandó Jehová a Moisés y a los hijos de Israel que habían salido de tierra de Egipto.

5 R euben was the first-born son of Israel. Reuben’s sons were the family of the Hanochites from Hanoch, the family of the Palluites from Pallu,

Rubén, primogénito de Israel; los hijos de Rubén: de Enoc, la familia de los enoquitas; de Falú, la familia de los faluitas;

6 t he family of the Hezronites from Hezron, and the family of the Carmites from Carmi.

7 T hese are the families of the Reubenites, and their number was 43, 730.

Estas son las familias de los rubenitas; y fueron contados de ellas cuarenta y tres mil setecientos treinta.

8 E liab was the son of Pallu.

Los hijos de Falú: Eliab.

9 T he sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. These are Dathan and Abiram who were chosen by the people and who joined with Korah to argue against Moses and Aaron. They argued against the Lord,

Y los hijos de Eliab: Nemuel, Datán y Abiram. Estos Datán y Abiram fueron los del consejo de la congregación, que se rebelaron contra Moisés y Aarón con el grupo de Coré, cuando se rebelaron contra Jehová;

10 a nd the earth opened its mouth and took them together with Korah, when that group died. The fire destroyed 250 men, and taught others to be careful.

y la tierra abrió su boca y los tragó a ellos y a Coré, cuando aquel grupo murió, cuando consumió el fuego a doscientos cincuenta varones, para servir de escarmiento.

11 B ut the sons of Korah did not die.

Mas los hijos de Coré no murieron.

12 T he sons of Simeon by their families were the family of the Nemuelites from Nemuel, the family of the Jaminites from Jamin, the family of the Jachinites from Jachin,

20 T he sons of Judah by their families were the family of the Shelanites from Shelah, the family of the Perezites from Perez, and the family of the Zerahites from Zerah.

26 T he sons of Zebulun by their families were the family of the Seredites from Sered, the family of the Elonites from Elon, and the family of the Jahleelites from Jahleel.

Los hijos de Zabulón por sus familias: de Séred, la familia de los sereditas; de Elón, la familia de los elonitas; de Jahleel, la familia de los jahleelitas.

27 T hese are the families of the Zebulunites. Their number was 60, 500.

Estas son las familias de los zabulonitas, y fueron contados de ellas sesenta mil quinientos.

28 T he sons of Joseph by their families were Manasseh and Ephraim.

29 T he sons of Manasseh were the family of the Machirites from Machir, and the family of the Gileadites from Gilead. Machir was the father of Gilead.

35 T he sons of Ephraim by their families were the family of the Shuthelaites from Shuthelah, the family of the Becherites from Becher, and the family of the Tahanites from Tahan.

Estos son los hijos de Efraín por sus familias: de Sutela, la familia de los sutelaítas; de Béquer, la familia de los bequeritas; de Tahán, la familia de los tahanitas.

36 T he sons of Shuthelah were the family of the Eranites from Eran.

38 T he sons of Benjamin by their families were the family of the Belaites from Bela, the family of the Ashbelites from Ashbel, the family of the Ahiramites from Ahiram,

Estos son los contados de los hijos de Israel, seiscientos un mil setecientos treinta. Instrucciones para reparto de la tierra

52 T he Lord said to Moses,

Y habló Jehová a Moisés, diciendo:

53 “ The land will be divided among these people by the number of names.

A éstos se repartirá la tierra en heredad, por la cuenta de los nombres.

54 G ive more land to the larger group. Give less land to the smaller group. Each family should be given land by the number of its people.

A los más darás mayor heredad, y a los menos menor; y a cada uno se le dará su heredad conforme a sus contados.

55 B ut the land should be divided by drawing names. They will receive their land by the names of the families of their fathers.

Pero la tierra será repartida por suerte; y por los nombres de las tribus de sus padres heredarán.

56 T he land will be divided between the larger and smaller groups by the names that are drawn.”

Conforme a la suerte será repartida su heredad entre el grande y el pequeño. Censo de los levitas

57 T hose who were numbered of the Levites by their families were the family of the Gershonites from Gershon, the family of the Kohathites from Kohath, and the family of the Merarites from Merari.

Los contados de los levitas por sus familias son estos: de Gersón, la familia de los gersonitas; de Coat, la familia de los coatitas; de Merarí, la familia de los meraritas.

58 T he families of Levi were the Libnites, the Hebronites, the Mahlites, the Mushites, and the Korahites. Kohath was the father of Amram.

Estas son las familias de los levitas: la familia de los libnitas, la familia de los hebronitas, la familia de los mahlitas, la familia de los musitas, la familia de los coreítas. Y Coat engendró a Amram.

59 T he name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi. She was born to Levi in Egypt. And she gave birth to Amram’s children, Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam.

La mujer de Amram se llamó Joquebed, hija de Leví, que le nació a Leví en Egipto; ésta dio a luz de Amram a Aarón y a Moisés, y a María su hermana.

60 A aron was the father of Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

Y a Aarón le nacieron Nadab, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.

61 B ut Nadab and Abihu died when they burned fire that was not holy before the Lord.

Pero Nadab y Abiú murieron cuando ofrecieron fuego extraño delante de Jehová.

62 T he number of all of their males a month old and older was 23, 000. For they were not numbered among the people of Israel, because no land was given to them among the people of Israel.

De los levitas fueron contados veintitrés mil, todos varones de un mes arriba; porque no fueron contados entre los hijos de Israel, por cuanto no les había de ser dada heredad entre los hijos de Israel.

63 T hese are the people who were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the religious leader. They numbered the sons of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

Estos son los contados por Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar, los cuales contaron los hijos de Israel en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán frente a Jericó.

64 B ut among all these was not one of those numbered by Moses and Aaron the religious leader when the people of Israel were numbered in the Desert of Sinai.

Y entre éstos ninguno hubo de los contados por Moisés y el sacerdote Aarón, quienes contaron a los hijos de Israel en el desierto de Sinay.

65 F or the Lord had said of them, “For sure they will die in the desert.” There was not a man left of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

Porque Jehová había dicho de ellos: Morirán en el desierto; y no quedó varón de ellos, sino Caleb hijo de Jefuné y Josué hijo de Nun.
