1 ( Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

Mas Jesús se fue al monte de los olivos.

2 E arly in the morning He went back to the house of God and all the people came to Him. He sat down and taught them.

Y por la mañana se presentó de nuevo en el templo, y todo el pueblo vino a él; y sentándose, les enseñaba.

3 T he teachers of the Law and the proud religious law-keepers came to Him. They brought a woman who had been caught doing a sex sin. They made her stand in front of them all.

Entonces los escribas y los fariseos le trajeron una mujer sorprendida en adulterio; y poniéndola en medio,

4 T hen they said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of doing a sex sin.

le dijeron: Maestro, esta mujer ha sido sorprendida en el acto mismo de adulterio.

5 M oses told us in the Law to throw stones and kill a woman like this. What do You say about it?”

Y en la ley nos mandó Moisés apedrear a tales mujeres. Tú, pues, ¿qué dices?

6 T hey were trying to set a trap to find something against Him. Jesus got down and began to write in the dust with His finger.

Mas esto decían tentándole, para tener de qué acusarle. Pero Jesús, inclinado hacia el suelo, escribía en tierra con el dedo.

7 T hey kept on asking Him. Then He stood up and said, “Anyone of you who is without sin can throw the first stone at her.”

Y como insistieran en preguntarle, se enderezó y les dijo: El que de vosotros esté sin pecado, sea el primero en arrojar la piedra contra ella.

8 A gain He got down and wrote in the dust.

E inclinándose de nuevo hacia el suelo, siguió escribiendo en tierra.

9 W hen they heard what He said, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones until they were all gone. Then Jesus was left alone with the woman.

Pero ellos, al oír esto, acusados por su conciencia, salían uno a uno, comenzando desde los más viejos hasta los últimos; y quedó solo Jesús, y la mujer que estaba en medio.

10 J esus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are those who spoke against you? Has no man said you are guilty?”

Enderezándose Jesús, y no viendo a nadie sino a la mujer, le dijo: Mujer, ¿dónde están aquellos que te acusaban? ¿Ninguno te condenó?

11 S he said, “No one, Sir.” Jesus said to her, “Neither do I say you are guilty. Go on your way and do not sin again.” ) Jesus Teaches about the Light of the World

Ella dijo: Ninguno, Señor. Entonces le dijo Jesús: Tampoco yo te condeno; vete, y no peques ya más. Jesucristo, la luz del mundo

12 J esus spoke to all the people, saying, “I am the Light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will not walk in darkness. He will have the Light of Life.”

Otra vez Jesús les habló, diciendo: Yo soy la luz del mundo; el que me sigue, de ningún modo andará en tinieblas, sino que tendrá la luz de la vida.

13 T he proud religious law-keepers said to Him, “You are talking about Yourself. What You say about Yourself is not true.”

Entonces los fariseos le dijeron: Tú das testimonio acerca de ti mismo; tu testimonio no es verdadero.

14 J esus said, “Even if I speak of Myself, what I am saying is true. I know where I came from and where I am going. You do not know where I came from or where I am going.

Respondió Jesús y les dijo: Aunque yo doy testimonio acerca de mí mismo, mi testimonio es verdadero, porque sé de dónde he venido y adónde voy; pero vosotros no sabéis de dónde vengo, ni adónde voy.

15 Y ou say as a man would say if people are guilty or not guilty. I am not saying anyone is guilty.

Vosotros juzgáis según la carne; yo no juzgo a nadie.

16 B ut even if I did, it would be true. I am not alone. The Father Who sent Me is with Me.

Y si yo juzgo, mi juicio es verdadero; porque no soy yo solo, sino yo y el Padre que me envió.

17 I t is written in your Law that when two men agree about something, it proves it is true.

Y en vuestra ley está escrito que el testimonio de dos hombres es verdadero.

18 I speak for Myself and the Father Who sent Me speaks for Me.”

Yo soy el que doy testimonio de mí mismo, y el Padre que me envió da también testimonio de mí.

19 T he proud religious law-keepers asked Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus said, “You do not know Me or My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.”

Ellos le dijeron: ¿Dónde está tu Padre? Respondió Jesús: Ni a mí me conocéis, ni a mi Padre; si a mí me conocieseis, también a mi Padre conoceríais.

20 J esus spoke these words near the money box while He taught in the house of God. No one put his hands on Jesus because His time had not yet come. Jesus Tells of His Going Away

Estas palabras habló Jesús en el lugar de las ofrendas, enseñando en el templo; y nadie le prendió, porque aún no había llegado su hora. Adonde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir

21 J esus spoke to the Jews again, saying, “I am going away. You will look for Me but you will die in your sins. Where I am going, you cannot come.”

Otra vez les dijo Jesús: Yo me voy, y me buscaréis, pero moriréis en vuestro pecado; adonde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir.

22 T he Jews said, “Will He kill Himself because He said, ‘Where I am going you cannot come’ ?”

Decían entonces los judíos: ¿Acaso se matará a sí mismo, que dice: Adonde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir?

23 H e answered them, “You are from below. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.

Y les dijo: Vosotros sois de abajo, yo soy de arriba; vosotros sois de este mundo, yo no soy de este mundo.

24 T hat is why I said that you will die in your sins. If you do not believe that I am the Christ, you will die in your sins.”

Por eso os dije que moriréis en vuestros pecados; porque si no creéis que yo soy, moriréis en vuestros pecados.

25 T hen they said to Him, “Who are You?” Jesus answered, “The answer is the same as I told you from the beginning.

Entonces le dijeron: ¿Tú quién eres? Jesús les dijo: En primer lugar, lo que os estoy diciendo.

26 I have much to say about you. I must say if you are guilty. But He Who sent Me is true. I tell the world the things I have heard from Him.”

Muchas cosas tengo que hablar y juzgar de vosotros; pero el que me envió es verdadero; y yo, lo que le he oído a él, esto hablo al mundo.

27 T hey did not understand that Jesus was speaking to them about the Father.

Pero no comprendieron que les hablaba del Padre.

28 J esus said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, you will know that I am the Christ. I do nothing of Myself. I say these things as My Father has taught Me.

Les dijo, pues, Jesús: Cuando hayáis levantado al Hijo del Hombre, entonces conoceréis que yo soy, y que nada hago por mí mismo, sino que según me enseñó el Padre, así hablo.

29 H e that sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone. I always do what He wants Me to do.”

Y el que me envió, está conmigo; no me ha dejado solo el Padre, porque yo hago siempre lo que le agrada.

30 A s Jesus said these things, many people put their trust in Him.

Mientras hablaba él estas cosas, muchos creyeron en él. La verdad os hará libres

31 H e said to the Jews who believed, “If you keep and obey My Word, then you are My followers for sure.

Dijo entonces Jesús a los judíos que le habían creído: Si vosotros permanecéis en mi palabra, seréis verdaderamente mis discípulos;

32 Y ou will know the truth and the truth will make you free.” Jesus Teaches What It Means to Be Free

y conoceréis la verdad, y la verdad os hará libres.

33 T hey said to Jesus, “We are children of Abraham. We have never been servants to anyone. What do you mean when You say, ‘You will be free’?”

Le respondieron: Linaje de Abraham somos, y jamás hemos sido esclavos de nadie. ¿Cómo dices tú: Seréis libres?

34 J esus answered them, “For sure, I tell you, everyone who sins is the servant of sin because sin has a hold on him.

Jesús les respondió: De cierto, de cierto os digo, que todo aquel que hace pecado, es esclavo del pecado.

35 A nd the servant does not belong in the house. The son belongs in the house.

Y el esclavo no queda en la casa para siempre; el hijo sí queda para siempre.

36 S o if the Son makes you free, you will be free for sure.

Así que, si el Hijo os liberta, seréis verdaderamente libres.

37 “ I know that you are the children of Abraham. But you want to kill Me because My Word is not in your hearts.

Sé que sois descendientes de Abraham; pero procuráis matarme, porque mi palabra no halla cabida en vosotros.

38 I speak of what I saw when I was with My Father. You do what you have seen your father do.”

Yo hablo lo que he visto cerca del Padre; y vosotros hacéis lo que habéis oído cerca de vuestro padre. Sois de vuestro padre el diablo

39 T hey said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said, “If you were children of Abraham, you would do what he did.

Respondieron y le dijeron: Nuestro padre es Abraham. Jesús les dijo: Si fueseis hijos de Abraham, haríais las obras de Abraham.

40 I am a Man Who has told you the truth as I heard it from God. Now you are trying to kill Me. Abraham never did anything like that.

Pero ahora procuráis matarme a mí, hombre que os he hablado la verdad, la cual se la he oído a Dios; no hizo esto Abraham.

41 Y ou are doing the works of your father.” They said to Him, “We were born of parents who were faithful in marriage. We have one Father. He is God.”

Vosotros hacéis las obras de vuestro padre. Entonces le dijeron: Nosotros no somos nacidos de fornicación; tenemos un padre, Dios.

42 J esus said to them, “If God were your father, you would love Me. I came from God. I did not come on My own, but God sent Me.

Jesús entonces les dijo: Si fuese Dios vuestro padre, me amaríais a mí; porque yo de Dios he salido, y he venido; pues no he venido de mí mismo, sino que él me envió.

43 W hy do you not understand what I say? It is because you do not want to hear My teaching.

¿Por qué no comprendéis mi lenguaje? Porque no podéis escuchar mi palabra.

44 T he devil is your father. You are from him. You want to do the sinful things your father, the devil, wants you to do. He has been a killer from the beginning. The devil has nothing to do with the truth. There is no truth in him. It is expected of the devil to lie, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Vosotros sois de vuestro padre el diablo, y queréis hacer los deseos de vuestro padre. Él ha sido homicida desde el principio, y no se mantuvo en la verdad, pues no hay verdad en él. Cuando habla mentira, de lo suyo habla; porque es mentiroso, y padre de la mentira.

45 I tell you the truth and that is why you do not put your trust in Me.

Y a mí, porque yo digo la verdad, no me creéis.

46 W hich one of you can say I am guilty of sin? If I tell you the truth, why do you not believe Me?

¿Quién de vosotros me redarguye de pecado? Pues si digo la verdad, ¿por qué vosotros no me creéis?

47 W hoever is born of God listens to God’s Word. You do not hear His Word because you are not born of God.” The Jews Say Jesus Has a Demon

El que es de Dios, escucha las palabras de Dios; por esto no las escucháis vosotros, porque no sois de Dios. La preexistencia de Cristo

48 T he Jews said to Jesus, “Are we not right when we say You are from the country of Samaria, and You have a demon?”

Respondieron entonces los judíos, y le dijeron: ¿No decimos bien nosotros, que tú eres samaritano, y que tienes demonio?

49 J esus said, “No, I do not have a demon. I honor My Father. You do not honor Me.

Respondió Jesús: Yo no tengo demonio, sino que honro a mi Padre; y vosotros me deshonráis.

50 I am not looking for honor for Myself. There is One Who is looking for it. He says what is right from wrong.

Pero yo no busco mi gloria; hay quien la busca, y juzga.

51 F or sure, I tell you, if anyone keeps My Word, that one will never die.”

De cierto, de cierto os digo, que el que guarda mi palabra, nunca jamás verá la muerte.

52 T hen the Jews said to Him, “Now we know You have a demon. Abraham died. The early preachers died. You say, ‘If anyone keeps My Word, that one will never die.’

Entonces los judíos le dijeron: Ahora nos damos perfecta cuenta de que tienes demonio. Abraham murió, y los profetas; y tú dices: El que guarda mi palabra, nunca jamás gustará la muerte.

53 A re you greater than our father Abraham? He died and the early preachers died. Who do You think You are?”

¿Eres tú, acaso, mayor que nuestro padre Abraham, el cual murió? ¡Y los profetas murieron! ¿Quién te haces a ti mismo?

54 J esus said, “If I honor Myself, My honor would be worth nothing. My Father honors Me. You say He is your God.

Respondió Jesús: Si yo me glorifico a mí mismo, mi gloria nada es; mi Padre es el que me glorifica, el que vosotros decís que es vuestro Dios.

55 Y ou have never known Him, but I know Him. If I said I did not know Him, I would be a liar like you. But I do know the Father and obey His Word.

Pero vosotros no le conocéis; mas yo le conozco, y si dijese que no le conozco, sería mentiroso como vosotros; pero le conozco, y guardo su palabra.

56 Y our father Abraham was glad that he was to see My coming. He saw it and was happy.”

Abraham vuestro padre se regocijó de que había de ver mi día; lo vio, y se regocijó.

57 T he Jews said to Jesus, “You are not even fifty years old. How could you have seen Abraham?”

Entonces le dijeron los judíos: Aún no tienes cincuenta años, ¿y has visto a Abraham?

58 J esus said to them, “For sure, I tell you, before Abraham was born, I was and am and always will be!”

Jesús les dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo: Antes que Abraham naciese, yo soy.

59 T hen they picked up stones to throw at Him. Jesus hid Himself and left the house of God.

Tomaron entonces piedras para arrojárselas; pero Jesús se escondió y salió del templo atravesando por en medio de ellos, y así pasó.
