11 H e stops rivers from flowing. And he brings to light what is hidden.

Detuvo los ríos en su nacimiento, E hizo salir a luz lo escondido en sus álveos.

12 “ But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?

Mas ¿dónde se hallará la sabiduría? ¿Dónde está el yacimiento de la prudencia?

13 M an does not know its worth, and it is not found in the land of the living.

No conoce su valor el hombre, Ni se halla en la tierra de los vivientes.

14 T he deep waters say, ‘It is not in me.’ The sea says, ‘It is not with me.’

El abismo dice: No está en mí; Y el mar responde: Ni conmigo.

15 P ure gold cannot be traded for it and it cannot be bought with silver.

No se dará por oro, Ni su precio será a peso de plata.

16 I t cannot be compared in worth to the gold of Ophir, onyx of much worth, or sapphire.

No puede ser pagada con oro de Ofir, Ni con ónice precioso, ni con zafiro.

17 G old or glass cannot be compared to it in worth and it cannot be traded for objects of fine gold.

El oro no se le igualará, ni el diamante, Ni se cambiará por alhajas de oro fino.

18 T here is no need to say anything about coral or crystal because wisdom cannot be paid for with rubies.

No se hará mención de coral ni de perlas; La sabiduría es mejor que las piedras preciosas.

19 T he topaz of Ethiopia cannot be compared to it in worth and it cannot be compared with the worth of pure gold.

No se igualará con ella el topacio de Etiopía; Ni se podrá comparar con el oro más fino.

20 W here then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding?

¿De dónde, pues, vendrá la sabiduría? ¿Y dónde está el lugar de la inteligencia?

21 I t is hidden from the eyes of all living. It is hidden from the birds of the sky.

Porque encubierta está a los ojos de todo viviente, Y a toda ave del cielo es oculta.

22 T he Place That Destroys and Death say, ‘We have only heard about it with our ears.’

El Abadón y la muerte dijeron: Su fama hemos oído con nuestros oídos.

23 “ God understands the way to wisdom, and He knows its place.

Sólo Dios entiende el camino de ella, Y conoce su lugar.

24 F or He looks to the ends of the earth, and sees everything under the heavens.

Porque él otea los confines de la tierra, Y ve cuanto hay bajo los cielos.

25 H e gave weight to the wind. He decided how much water would be in the sea.

Al dar su peso al viento, Y poner a las aguas su medida;

26 H e decided how much rain would fall, and the path for the lightning.

Cuando él dio su ley a la lluvia, Y su ruta al relámpago de los truenos,

27 T hen He saw wisdom and made it known. He made it last, and found out all about it.

Entonces la veía él, y la valoraba; La preparó y la descubrió también.

28 A nd He said to man, ‘See, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. And to turn away from sin is understanding.’”

Y dijo al hombre: He aquí que el temor del Señor es la sabiduría, Y el apartarse del mal, la inteligencia.
