1 T his letter is from Paul, a missionary for Jesus Christ. God wanted me to work for Him. This letter is from brother Timothy also.

Pablo, apóstol de Jesucristo por voluntad de Dios, y el hermano Timoteo,

2 I am writing to you who belong to Christ in the city of Colossae. May all the Christian brothers there have loving-favor and peace from God our Father.

a los santos y fieles hermanos en Cristo que están en Colosas: Gracia y paz sean a vosotros, de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo. Pablo pide que Dios les conceda sabiduría espiritual

3 W e always pray and give thanks to God for you. He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Damos gracias al Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, orando siempre por vosotros,

4 W e give thanks to God for you because we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus. We thank God for your love for all those who belong to Christ.

habiendo oído de vuestra fe en Cristo Jesús, y del amor que tenéis hacia todos los santos,

5 W e thank God for the hope that is being kept for you in heaven. You first heard about this hope through the Good News which is the Word of Truth.

a causa de la esperanza que os está reservada en los cielos, de la cual ya oísteis antes por la palabra verdadera del evangelio,

6 T he Good News came to you the same as it is now going out to all the world. Lives are being changed, just as your life was changed the day you heard the Good News. You understood the truth about God’s loving-kindness.

el cual ha llegado hasta vosotros, así como a todo el mundo, y está llevando fruto y creciendo también en vosotros, desde el día que lo oísteis y comprendisteis la gracia de Dios en verdad,

7 Y ou heard the Good News through our much-loved brother Epaphras who is taking my place. He is a faithful servant of Christ.

como lo habéis aprendido de Epafras, nuestro consiervo amado, que es un fiel ministro de Cristo en nuestro lugar,

8 H e told us that the Holy Spirit had given you much love.

quien también nos ha informado de vuestro amor en el Espíritu.

9 T his is why I have never stopped praying for you since I heard about you. I ask God that you may know what He wants you to do. I ask God to fill you with the wisdom and understanding the Holy Spirit gives.

Por lo cual también nosotros, desde el día que lo oímos, no cesamos de orar por vosotros, y de pedir que seáis llenos del cabal conocimiento de su voluntad en toda sabiduría e inteligencia espiritual,

10 T hen your lives will please the Lord. You will do every kind of good work, and you will know more about God.

para que andéis como es digno del Señor, agradándole en todo, llevando fruto en toda buena obra, y creciendo en el pleno conocimiento de Dios;

11 I pray that God’s great power will make you strong, and that you will have joy as you wait and do not give up.

fortalecidos con todo poder, conforme a la potencia de su gloria, para toda paciencia y longanimidad;

12 I pray that you will be giving thanks to the Father. He has made it so you could share the good things given to those who belong to Christ who are in the light.

con gozo dando gracias al Padre que nos hizo aptos para participar de la herencia de los santos en luz;

13 G od took us out of a life of darkness. He has put us in the holy nation of His much-loved Son.

el cual nos ha librado de la potestad de las tinieblas, y trasladado al reino de su amado Hijo,

14 W e have been bought by His blood and made free. Our sins are forgiven through Him.

en quien tenemos redención por medio de su sangre, el perdón de pecados. La supremacía de Cristo

15 C hrist is as God is. God cannot be seen. Christ lived before anything was made.

El cual es la imagen del Dios invisible, el primogénito de toda creación.

16 C hrist made everything in the heavens and on the earth. He made everything that is seen and things that are not seen. He made all the powers of heaven. Everything was made by Him and for Him.

Porque por él fueron creadas todas las cosas, las que hay en los cielos y las que hay en la tierra, las visibles y las invisibles; sean tronos, sean dominios, sean principados, sean potestades; todo fue creado por medio de él y para él.

17 C hrist was before all things. All things are held together by Him.

Y él es antes de todas las cosas, y todas las cosas tienen consistencia en él;

18 C hrist is the head of the church which is His body. He is the beginning of all things. He is the first to be raised from the dead. He is to have first place in everything.

y él es la cabeza del cuerpo que es la iglesia, y él es el principio, el primogénito de entre los muertos, para que en todo tenga la preeminencia;

19 G od the Father was pleased to have everything made perfect by Christ, His Son.

por cuanto tuvo a bien el Padre que en él habitase toda plenitud,

20 E verything in heaven and on earth can come to God because of Christ’s death on the cross. Christ’s blood has made peace.

y por medio de él reconciliar consigo todas las cosas, así las que están en la tierra como las que están en los cielos, haciendo la paz mediante la sangre de su cruz.

21 A t one time you were strangers to God and your minds were at war with Him. Your thoughts and actions were wrong.

Y a vosotros también, que erais en otro tiempo extraños y enemigos en vuestra mente, haciendo malas obras, ahora os ha reconciliado

22 B ut Christ has brought you back to God by His death on the cross. In this way, Christ can bring you to God, holy and pure and without blame.

en su cuerpo de carne, por medio de la muerte, para presentaros santos y sin mancha e irreprensibles delante de él;

23 T his is for you if you keep the faith. You must not change from what you believe now. You must not leave the hope of the Good News you received. The Good News was preached to you and to all the world. And I, Paul, am one of Christ’s missionaries. Paul Is Sent by God to Preach

si en verdad permanecéis fundados y firmes en la fe, y sin moveros de la esperanza del evangelio que habéis oído, el cual ha sido proclamado en toda la creación que está debajo del cielo; del cual yo, Pablo, fui hecho ministro. Ministerio de Pablo a los gentiles

24 N ow I am full of joy to be suffering for you. In my own body I am doing my share of what has to be done to make Christ’s sufferings complete. This is for His body which is the Church.

Ahora me gozo en mis padecimientos por vosotros, y completo en mi carne lo que falta de las aflicciones de Cristo por su cuerpo, que es la iglesia;

25 I became a preacher in His church for your good. In the plan of God I am to preach the Good News.

de la cual fui hecho ministro, según la administración de Dios que me fue dada para con vosotros, para anunciar cumplidamente la palabra de Dios,

26 T his great secret was hidden to the people of times past, but it is now made known to those who belong to Christ.

el misterio que había estado oculto desde los siglos y generaciones pasadas, pero que ahora ha sido manifestado a sus santos,

27 G od wants these great riches of the hidden truth to be made known to the people who are not Jews. The secret is this: Christ in you brings hope of all the great things to come.

a quienes Dios quiso dar a conocer cuáles son las riquezas de la gloria de este misterio entre los gentiles; que es Cristo en vosotros, la esperanza de la gloria,

28 W e preach Christ. We tell every man how he must live. We use wisdom in teaching every man. We do this so every man will be complete in Christ.

a quien nosotros anunciamos, amonestando a todo hombre, y enseñando a todo hombre en toda sabiduría, a fin de presentar perfecto en Cristo Jesús a todo hombre;

29 T his is the reason I am working. God’s great power is working in me.

para lo cual también trabajo, luchando según la potencia de él, la cual actúa poderosamente en mí.
