1 “ For sure, I tell you, the man who goes into the sheep-pen some other way than through the door is one who steals and robs.

De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que no entra por la puerta en el redil de las ovejas, sino que sube por otra parte, ése es ladrón y salteador.

2 T he shepherd of the sheep goes in through the door.

Mas el que entra por la puerta, es pastor de las ovejas.

3 T he one who watches the door opens it for him. The sheep listen to the voice of the shepherd. He calls his own sheep by name and he leads them out.

A éste le abre el portero, y las ovejas oyen su voz; y llama a sus propias ovejas por su nombre, y las saca.

4 W hen the shepherd walks ahead of them, they follow him because they know his voice.

Y cuando ha sacado fuera todas las propias, va delante de ellas; y las ovejas le siguen, porque conocen su voz.

5 T hey will not follow someone they do not know because they do not know his voice. They will run away from him.”

Mas al extraño no le seguirán, sino que huirán de él, porque no conocen la voz de los extraños.

6 J esus told this picture-story to them. Yet they did not understand what He said. Jesus Is the Door

Esta alegoría les dijo Jesús; pero ellos no comprendieron de qué les estaba hablando. Jesús, el Buen Pastor

7 A gain Jesus said to them, “For sure, I tell you, I am the Door of the sheep.

Volvió, pues, Jesús a decirles: De cierto, de cierto os digo: Yo soy la puerta de las ovejas.

8 A ll others who came ahead of Me are men who steal and rob. The sheep did not obey them.

Todos cuantos vinieron antes de mí, son ladrones y salteadores; pero no los oyeron las ovejas.

9 I am the Door. Anyone who goes in through Me will be saved from the punishment of sin. He will go in and out and find food.

Yo soy la puerta; el que entre por medio de mí, será salvo; entrará, y saldrá, y hallará pastos.

10 T he robber comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I came so they might have life, a great full life. Jesus Teaches about the Good Shepherd

El ladrón no viene sino para hurtar, matar y destruir; yo he venido para que tengan vida, y para que la tengan en abundancia.

11 “ I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

Yo soy el buen pastor; el buen pastor da su vida por las ovejas.

12 O ne who is hired to watch the sheep is not the shepherd. He does not own the sheep. He sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep. He runs away while the wolf gets the sheep and makes them run everywhere.

Mas el asalariado, y que no es el pastor, de quien no son propias las ovejas, ve venir al lobo, y deja las ovejas y huye, y el lobo arrebata las ovejas y las dispersa.

13 T he hired man runs away because he is hired. He does not care about the sheep.

Así que el asalariado huye, porque es asalariado, y no le importan las ovejas.

14 “ I am the Good Shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me.

Yo soy el buen pastor; y conozco mis ovejas, y las mías me conocen,

15 I know My Father as My Father knows Me. I give My life for the sheep.

así como el Padre me conoce, y yo conozco al Padre; y pongo mi vida por las ovejas.

16 I have other sheep which are not from this sheep-pen. I must bring them also. They will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock with one shepherd.

También tengo otras ovejas que no son de este redil; aquéllas también debo traer; y oirán mi voz, y habrá un solo rebaño, y un solo pastor.

17 “ For this reason My Father loves Me. It is because I give My life that I might take it back again.

Por eso me ama el Padre, porque yo pongo mi vida, para volverla a tomar.

18 N o one takes my life from Me. I give it by Myself. I have the right and the power to take it back again. My Father has given Me this right and power.”

Nadie me la quita, sino que yo la pongo de mí mismo. Tengo potestad para ponerla, y tengo potestad para volverla a tomar. Este mandamiento recibí de mi Padre.

19 B ecause of what He said, the Jews did not agree in their thinking.

Volvió a haber disensión entre los judíos a causa de estas palabras.

20 M any of them said, “He has a demon and is crazy. Why listen to Him?”

Muchos de ellos decían: Demonio tiene, y está fuera de sí; ¿por qué le oís?

21 O thers said, “A man who has a demon does not talk this way. Can a demon open the eyes of a blind man?” Jesus Tells Who He Is

Decían otros: Estas palabras no son de endemoniado. ¿Puede acaso el demonio abrir los ojos de los ciegos? Los judíos rechazan a Jesucristo

22 I t was time for the religious gathering of remembering how the house of God was opened in Jerusalem.

Se celebró por entonces la fiesta de la Dedicación en Jerusalén. Era invierno,

23 I t was winter and Jesus was there. He was walking in Solomon’s porch in the house of God.

y Jesús andaba paseando en el templo por el pórtico de Salomón.

24 T he Jews gathered around Him. They said, “How long are You going to keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us.”

Y le rodearon los judíos y le decían: ¿Hasta cuándo nos vas a tener en vilo? Si tú eres el Cristo, dínoslo abiertamente.

25 J esus answered, “I told you and you do not believe. The works I do in My Father’s name speak of Me.

Jesús les respondió: Os lo he dicho, y no creéis; las obras que yo hago en el nombre de mi Padre, ellas dan testimonio de mí;

26 Y ou do not believe because you are not My sheep.

pero vosotros no creéis, porque no sois de mis ovejas, como os he dicho.

27 M y sheep hear My voice and I know them. They follow Me.

Mis ovejas oyen mi voz, y yo las conozco, y me siguen,

28 I give them life that lasts forever. They will never be punished. No one is able to take them out of My hand.

y yo les doy vida eterna; y no perecerán jamás, ni nadie las arrebatará de mi mano.

29 M y Father Who gave them to Me is greater than all. No one is able to take them out of My Father’s hand.

Mi Padre que me las dio, es mayor que todos, y nadie las puede arrebatar de la mano de mi Padre.

30 M y Father and I are one!” Jesus Talks to Angry Men

Yo y el Padre somos una sola cosa.

31 A gain the Jews picked up stones to throw at Him.

Entonces los judíos volvieron a tomar piedras para apedrearle.

32 J esus said to them, “Many good things have I shown you from My Father. For which of these things are you going to throw stones at Me?”

Jesús les respondió: Muchas buenas obras os he mostrado de mi Padre; ¿por cuál de ellas me vais a apedrear?

33 T hey said, “We are not going to throw stones at You for any good work. It is because of the way You talk against God. It is because You make Yourself to be God when You are only a man.”

Le respondieron los judíos, diciendo: No te queremos apedrear por ninguna obra buena, sino por la blasfemia; porque tú, siendo hombre, te haces Dios a ti mismo.

34 J esus said to them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’?

Jesús les respondió: ¿No está escrito en vuestra ley: Yo dije, dioses sois?

35 T he Holy Writings were given to them and God called them gods. (The Word of God cannot be put aside.)

Si llamó dioses a aquellos a quienes vino la palabra de Dios (y la Escritura no puede ser quebrantada),

36 B ut God has set Me apart for Himself. He sent Me into the world. Then how can you say that I am speaking against God because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?

¿al que el Padre santificó y envió al mundo, vosotros decís: Tú blasfemas, porque dije: Hijo de Dios soy?

37 I f I am not doing the works of My Father, do not believe Me.

Si no hago las obras de mi Padre, no me creáis.

38 B ut if I do them, even if you do not believe Me, believe the works that I do. Then you will know the Father is in Me and I am in Him.”

Mas si las hago, aunque no me creáis a mí, creed a las obras, para que conozcáis y creáis que el Padre está en mí, y yo en el Padre.

39 T hey tried again to take Him but He got out of their hands. Jesus Goes to the Other Side of the Jordan River

Procuraron otra vez prenderle, pero él se salió de sus manos.

40 J esus went away to the other side of the Jordan River to the place where John was baptizing people. Jesus stayed there.

Y se fue de nuevo al otro lado del Jordán, al lugar donde primero había estado bautizando Juan; y se quedó allí.

41 M any people came to Him and said, “John did no powerful work, but what John said about this Man is true.”

Y muchos acudieron a él, y decían: Juan, a la verdad, ninguna señal hizo; pero todo lo que Juan dijo de éste, era verdad.

42 M any people put their trust in Jesus there.

Y muchos creyeron en él allí.
