1 I saw the Lamb break open the first of the seven locks. I heard one of the four living beings cry out like the sound of thunder, “Come and see!”

Y vi cuando el Cordero abrió uno de los sellos, y oí a uno de los cuatro seres vivientes decir como con voz de trueno: Ven y mira.

2 I looked and saw a white horse. The one who sat on it had a bow. A crown was given to him. He went out to win and he won. The Second Lock—Fighting

Y miré, y he aquí un caballo blanco; y el que lo montaba tenía un arco; y le fue dada una corona, y salió venciendo, y para vencer.

3 H e broke open the second lock. Then I heard the second living being say, “Come and see!”

Cuando abrió el segundo sello, oí al segundo ser viviente, que decía: Ven y mira.

4 A nother horse came out. This one was red. The one who sat on it was given a long sword. He was given power to take peace from the earth so men would kill each other. The Third Lock—No Food

Y salió otro caballo, rojo; y al que lo montaba se le concedió quitar de la tierra la paz, y que se matasen unos a otros; y se le dio una gran espada.

5 H e broke open the third lock. Then I heard the third living being say, “Come and see!” I looked and saw a black horse. The one who sat on it had something in his hand with which to weigh things.

Y cuando abrió el tercer sello, oí al tercer ser viviente, que decía: Ven y mira. Y miré, y he aquí un caballo negro; y el que lo montaba tenía una balanza en la mano.

6 I heard a voice from among the four living beings saying, “A small jar of wheat for a day’s pay. Three small jars of barley for a day’s pay. Do not hurt the olive oil and wine.” The Fourth Lock—Death

Y oí una voz de en medio de los cuatro seres vivientes, que decía: Dos libras de trigo por un denario, y seis libras de cebada por un denario; pero no dañes el aceite ni el vino.

7 H e broke open the fourth lock. Then I heard the fourth living being say, “Come and see!”

Y cuando abrió el cuarto sello, oí la voz del cuarto ser viviente, que decía: Ven y mira.

8 I looked and saw a light colored horse. The one who sat on it had the name of Death. Hell followed close behind him. They were given the right and the power to kill one-fourth part of everything on the earth. They were to kill with the sword and by people having no food and by sickness and by the wild animals of the earth. The Fifth Lock—Killed for Telling of Jesus

Miré, y he aquí un caballo verdoso pálido, y el que lo montaba tenía por nombre Muerte, y el Hades le seguía; y le fue dada potestad sobre la cuarta parte de la tierra, para matar con espada, con hambre, con pestilencia, y con las fieras de la tierra.

9 H e broke open the fifth lock. Then I saw under the altar all the souls of those who had been killed for telling the Word of God. They had also been killed for being faithful in telling about Christ.

Y cuando abrió el quinto sello, vi debajo del altar las almas de los que habían sido muertos por causa de la palabra de Dios y por el testimonio que tenían.

10 A ll those who had been killed cried out with a loud voice saying, “How long will it be yet before You will punish those on the earth for killing us? Lord, You are holy and true.”

Y clamaban a gran voz, diciendo: ¿Hasta cuándo, Señor, santo y verdadero, no juzgas y vengas nuestra sangre de manos de los que moran en la tierra?

11 W hite clothes were given to each one of them. They were told to rest a little longer. They were to wait until all the other servants owned by God and their Christian brothers would be killed as they had been. Then the group would be complete. The Sixth Lock—God’s Anger on the Earth

Y se les dieron vestiduras blancas, y se les dijo que descansasen todavía un poco de tiempo, hasta que se completara el número de sus consiervos y sus hermanos, que también iban a ser muertos como ellos.

12 I looked as the Lamb broke the sixth lock. The earth shook as if it would break apart. The sun became black like dark cloth. The moon became like blood.

Miré cuando abrió el sexto sello, y se produjo un gran terremoto; y el sol se puso negro como un saco hecho de crin, y la luna se volvió toda como sangre;

13 T he stars of the sky fell to the earth. They were like figs falling from a tree that is shaken by a strong wind.

y las estrellas del cielo cayeron sobre la tierra, como la higuera deja caer sus higos cuando es sacudida por un fuerte viento.

14 T he sky passed away like paper being rolled up. Every mountain and island moved from its place.

Y el cielo desapareció como un pergamino que se enrolla; y todo monte y toda isla fueron removidos de su lugar.

15 T he kings and the leaders of the earth hid themselves in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. All the head soldiers and rich men and strong men and men who were free and those who were owned by someone hid themselves also.

Y los reyes de la tierra, los magnates, los ricos, los tribunos, los poderosos, y todo siervo y todo libre, se escondieron en las cuevas y entre las peñas de los montes;

16 T hey called to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us! Hide us from the face of the One Who sits on the throne. Hide us from the anger of the Lamb,

y decían a los montes y a las peñas: Caed sobre nosotros, y escondednos del rostro del que está sentado sobre el trono, y de la ira del Cordero;

17 b ecause the special day of Their anger has come! Who is able to stand against it?”

porque el gran día de su ira ha llegado; ¿y quién podrá sostenerse en pie?
