1 “ Then we turned and went up the road to Bashan. Og king of Bashan and all his people came out to meet us in battle.

Volvimos, pues, y subimos camino de Basán, y nos salió al encuentro Og rey de Basán para pelear, él y todo su pueblo, en Edreí.

2 B ut the Lord said to me, ‘Do not be afraid of him. For I have given him and all his people and his land to you. Do to him just as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites who lived at Heshbon.’

Y me dijo Jehová: No tengas temor de él, porque en tu mano he entregado a él y a todo su pueblo, con su tierra; y harás con él como hiciste con Sehón rey amorreo, que habitaba en Hesbón.

3 S o the Lord our God gave us Og king of Bashan and all his people also. We destroyed them until no one was left alive.

Y Jehová nuestro Dios entregó también en nuestra mano a Og rey de Basán, y a todo su pueblo, al cual derrotamos hasta acabar con todos.

4 A nd we took all his cities at that time. There was not a city which we did not take from them. We took sixty cities, the whole land of Argob, the nation of Og in Bashan.

Y tomamos entonces todas sus ciudades; no quedó ciudad que no les tomásemos; sesenta ciudades, toda la tierra de Argob, del reino de Og en Basán.

5 A ll these cities were built strong, with high walls, gates and iron. There were many towns without walls also.

Todas éstas eran ciudades fortificadas con muros altos, con puertas y barras, sin contar otras muchas ciudades sin muro.

6 W e destroyed them, as we had done to Sihon king of Heshbon. We destroyed every man, woman and child in every city.

Y las destruimos, como hicimos a Sehón rey de Hesbón, matando en toda ciudad a hombres, mujeres y niños.

7 B ut we took for ourselves all the animals and what was left in the cities.

Y tomamos para nosotros todo el ganado, y los despojos de las ciudades.

8 S o we took the land at that time from the two kings of the Amorites who were on the east side of the Jordan, from the valley of Arnon to Mount Hermon

También tomamos en aquel tiempo la tierra desde el arroyo de Arpón hasta el monte de Hermón, de manos de los dos reyes amorreos que estaban a este lado del Jordán.

9 ( Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir).

(Los sidonios llaman a Hermón, Siryón; y los amorreos, Senir.)

10 W e took all the cities of the plain and all Gilead and all Bashan, as far as Salecah and Edrei, cities of the nation of Og in Bashan.

Todas las ciudades de la altiplanicie, y todo Galaad, y todo Basán hasta Salcá y Edreí, ciudades del reino de Og en Basán.

11 ( For only Og king of Bashan was left of the children of the Rephaim. His bed was made of iron. It is in Rabbah of the sons of Ammon. It was as long as five steps, and as wide as two long steps.) Dividing the Land East of the Jordan

Porque únicamente Og rey de Basán había quedado del resto de los gigantes. Su cama, una cama de hierro, que está en Rabá de los ammonitas, tiene nueve codos de largo por cuatro de ancho, según el codo de un hombre. Rubén, Gad y media tribu de Manasés se establecen al oriente del Jordán

12 “ So we took this land for ourselves at that time. I gave to the Reubenites and the Gadites the land from Aroer, which is by the valley of Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead.

Y esta tierra que heredamos en aquel tiempo, desde Aroer, que está junto al arroyo de Arnón, y la mitad del monte de Galaad con sus ciudades, la di a los rubenitas y a los gaditas;

13 I gave to the half-family of Manasseh the rest of Gilead and all Bashan, the nation of Og, all the land of Argob. It is called the land of Rephaim.

y el resto de Galaad, y todo Basán, del reino de Og, toda la tierra de Argob, que se llamaba la tierra de los gigantes, lo di a la media tribu de Manasés.

14 M anasseh’s son Jair took all the land of Argob as far as the land of the Geshurites and the Maacathites. He called Bashan after his own name, Havvothjair. And that is its name to this day.

Jaír hijo de Manasés tomó toda la tierra de Argob hasta el límite con Gesur y Maacá, y la llamó Basán-havot-jaír, nombre que tiene hoy.

15 I gave Gilead to Machir.

Y Galaad se lo di a Maquir.

16 T o the Reubenites and the Gadites I gave from Gilead to the valley of Arnon, from the center of the valley to the river Jabbok, beside the Ammonites.

Y a los rubenitas y gaditas les di desde Galaad hasta el arroyo de Arnón, teniendo por límite el medio del valle, hasta el torrente de Jaboc, el cual marcaba la frontera de los ammonitas;

17 I gave them the Arabah also, with the Jordan as its west side, from Chinnereth as far as the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, at the bottom of the hills of Pisgah on the east.

también el Arabá, con el Jordán como límite desde Quinéret hasta el mar del Arabá, el Mar Salado, al pie de las laderas del Pisgá al oriente.

18 “ At that time I told you, ‘The Lord your God has given you this land for your own. All you men with strength of heart will cross over ready to fight before your brothers, the sons of Israel.

Y os mandé entonces, diciendo: Jehová vuestro Dios os ha dado esta tierra por heredad; pero iréis armados todos los valientes delante de vuestros hermanos los hijos de Israel.

19 B ut your wives, your little ones and your animals (I know you have many animals) will stay in your cities that I have given you.

Solamente vuestras mujeres, vuestros hijos y vuestros ganados (yo sé que tenéis mucho ganado), quedarán en las ciudades que os he dado,

20 T hey will stay until the Lord gives rest to your brothers as He has to you, and until they own the land the Lord your God will give them on the other side of the Jordan. Then every one of you may return to what is his, which I have given you.’

hasta que Jehová dé reposo a vuestros hermanos, así como a vosotros, y hereden ellos también la tierra que Jehová vuestro Dios les da al otro lado del Jordán; entonces os volveréis cada uno a la heredad que yo os he dado.

21 A nd then I told Joshua, ‘Your eyes have seen all the Lord your God has done to these two kings. The Lord will do the same to all the nations through which you pass.

Ordené también a Josué en aquel tiempo, diciendo: Tus ojos vieron todo lo que Jehová vuestro Dios ha hecho a aquellos dos reyes; así hará Jehová a todos los reinos a los cuales pasarás tú.

22 D o not be afraid of them. For the Lord your God is the One fighting for you.’ Moses Not Allowed to Cross the Jordan

No los temáis; porque Jehová vuestro Dios, él es el que pelea por vosotros. No se le permite a Moisés entrar en Canaán

23 “ After that I begged the Lord,

Y oré a Jehová en aquel tiempo, diciendo:

24 ‘ O Lord God, You have begun to show Your servant Your great power and Your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and powerful acts as You do?

Señor Jehová, tú has comenzado a mostrar a tu siervo tu grandeza, y tu mano poderosa; porque ¿qué Dios hay en el cielo ni en la tierra que haga obras y proezas como las tuyas?

25 I ask of You, let me cross over and see the good land on the other side of the Jordan, that good hill country and Lebanon.’

Pase yo, te ruego, y vea aquella tierra buena que está más allá del Jordán, aquel buen monte, y el Líbano.

26 B ut the Lord was angry with me because of you. He would not listen to me. The Lord told me, ‘Enough! Speak to Me no more about this.

Pero Jehová se había enojado contra mí a causa de vosotros, por lo cual no me escuchó; y me dijo Jehová: Basta, no me hables más de este asunto.

27 G o up to the top of Pisgah, and look to the west and north and south and east. See it with your eyes, for you will not cross over this Jordan.

Sube a la cumbre del Pisgá y alza tus ojos al oeste, y al norte, y al sur, y al este, y mírala con tus propios ojos; porque no pasarás el Jordán.

28 B ut tell Joshua what is to be done. Comfort him and give him strength. For he will cross in front of this people. And he will give them for their own the land that you will see.’

Y manda a Josué, y anímalo, y fortalécelo; porque él pasará al frente de este pueblo, y él les hará heredar la tierra que verás.

29 S o we stayed in the valley beside Beth-peor.

Y paramos en el valle delante de Bet-peor.
