1 A fter the very bad disease came on the people because of Israel’s sin, the Lord said to Moses and Eleazar the son of Aaron the religious leader,

Y ACONTECIO después de la mortandad, que Jehová habló á Moisés, y á Eleazar hijo del sacerdote Aarón, diciendo:

2 “ Add the numbers of all the people of Israel who are twenty years old and older, by their fathers’ houses. Number whoever in Israel is able to go to war.”

Tomad la suma de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, de veinte años arriba, por las casas de sus padres, todos los que puedan salir á la guerra en Israel.

3 S o Moses and Eleazar the religious leader said to the people in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho,

Y Moisés y Eleazar el sacerdote hablaron con ellos en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán de Jericó, diciendo:

4 “ Number the people who are twenty years old and older, as the Lord has told Moses.” Now these were the sons of Israel who came out of the land of Egypt.

Contaréis el pueblo de veinte años arriba, como mandó Jehová á Moisés y á los hijos de Israel, que habían salido de tierra de Egipto.

5 R euben was the first-born son of Israel. Reuben’s sons were the family of the Hanochites from Hanoch, the family of the Palluites from Pallu,

Rubén primogénito de Israel: los hijos de Rubén: Hanoc, del cual era la familia de los Hanochîtas; de Phallú, la familia de los Phalluitas;

6 t he family of the Hezronites from Hezron, and the family of the Carmites from Carmi.

De Hesrón, la familia de los Hesronitas; de Carmi, la familia de los Carmitas.

7 T hese are the families of the Reubenites, and their number was 43, 730.

Estas son las familias de los Rubenitas: y sus contados fueron cuarenta y tres mil setecientos y treinta.

8 E liab was the son of Pallu.

Y los hijos de Phallú: Eliab.

9 T he sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. These are Dathan and Abiram who were chosen by the people and who joined with Korah to argue against Moses and Aaron. They argued against the Lord,

Y los hijos de Eliab: Nemuel, y Dathán, y Abiram. Estos Dathán y Abiram fueron los del consejo de la congregación, que hicieron el motín contra Moisés y Aarón con la compañía de Coré, cuando se amotinaron contra Jehová.

10 a nd the earth opened its mouth and took them together with Korah, when that group died. The fire destroyed 250 men, and taught others to be careful.

Que la tierra abrió su boca y tragó á ellos y á Coré, cuando aquella compañía murió, cuando consumió el fuego doscientos y cincuenta varones, los cuales fueron por señal.

11 B ut the sons of Korah did not die.

Mas los hijos de Coré no murieron.

12 T he sons of Simeon by their families were the family of the Nemuelites from Nemuel, the family of the Jaminites from Jamin, the family of the Jachinites from Jachin,

Los hijos de Simeón por sus familias: de Nemuel, la familia de los Nemuelitas; de Jamín, la familia de los Jaminitas; de Jachîn, la familia de los Jachînitas;

13 t he family of the Zerahites from Zerah, and the family of the Shaulites from Shaul.

De Zera, la familia de los Zeraitas; de Saul, la familia de los Saulitas.

14 T hese are the families of the Simeonites, 22, 200 people.

Estas son las familias de los Simeonitas, veinte y dos mil y doscientos.

15 T he sons of Gad by their families were the family of the Zephonites from Zephon, the family of the Haggites from Haggi, the family of the Shunites from Shuni,

Los hijos de Gad por sus familias: de Zephón, la familia de los Zephonitas; de Aggi, la familia de los Aggitas; de Suni, la familia de los Sunitas;

Estas son las familias de Gad, por sus contados, cuarenta mil y quinientos.

19 T he sons of Judah were Er and Onan. But Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.

Los hijos de Judá: Er y Onán; y Er y Onán murieron en la tierra de Canaán.

20 T he sons of Judah by their families were the family of the Shelanites from Shelah, the family of the Perezites from Perez, and the family of the Zerahites from Zerah.

Y fueron los hijos de Judá por sus familias: de Sela, la familia de los Selaitas; de Phares, la familia de los Pharesitas; de Zera, la familia de los Zeraitas.

21 T he sons of Perez were the family of the Hezronites from Hezron, and the family of the Hamulites from Hamul.

Y fueron los hijos de Phares: de Hesrón, la familia de los Hesronitas; de Hamul, la familia de los Hamulitas.

22 T hese are the families of Judah. Their number was 76, 500.

Estas son las familias de Judá, por sus contados, setenta y seis mil y quinientos.

23 T he sons of Issachar by their families were the family of the Tolaites from Tola, the family of the Punites from Puvah,

Los hijos de Issachâr por sus familias: de Thola, la familia de los Tholaitas; de Puá la familia de los Puanitas;

24 t he family of the Jashubites from Jashub, and the family of the Shimronites from Shimron.

De Jasub, la familia de los Jasubitas; de Simron, la familia de los Simronitas.

25 T hese are the families of Issachar. Their number was 64, 300.

Estas son las familias de Issachâr, por sus contados, sesenta y cuatro mil y trescientos.

26 T he sons of Zebulun by their families were the family of the Seredites from Sered, the family of the Elonites from Elon, and the family of the Jahleelites from Jahleel.

Los hijos de Zabulón por sus familias: de Sered, la familia de los Sereditas; de Elón, la familia de los Elonitas; de Jalel, la familia de los Jalelitas.

27 T hese are the families of the Zebulunites. Their number was 60, 500.

Estas son las familias de los Zabulonitas, por sus contados, sesenta mil y quinientos.

28 T he sons of Joseph by their families were Manasseh and Ephraim.

Los hijos de José por sus familias: Manasés y Ephraim.

29 T he sons of Manasseh were the family of the Machirites from Machir, and the family of the Gileadites from Gilead. Machir was the father of Gilead.

Los hijos de Manasés: de Machîr, la familia de los Machîritas; y Machîr engendró á Galaad; de Galaad, la familia de los Galaaditas.

30 T he sons of Gilead were the family of the Iezerites from Iezer, the family of the Helekites from Helek,

33 H epher’s son Zelophehad had no sons, but only daughters. The names of Zelophehad’s daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah.

Y Salphaad, hijo de Hepher, no tuvo hijos sino hijas: y los nombres de las hijas de Salphaad fueron Maala, y Noa, y Hogla, y Milca, y Tirsa.

34 T hese were the families of Manasseh. Their number was 52, 700.

Estas son las familias de Manasés; y sus contados, cincuenta y dos mil y setecientos.

35 T he sons of Ephraim by their families were the family of the Shuthelaites from Shuthelah, the family of the Becherites from Becher, and the family of the Tahanites from Tahan.

Estos son los hijos de Ephraim por sus familias: de Suthala, la familia de los Suthalaitas; de Bechêr, la familia de los Bechêritas; de Tahan, la familia de los Tahanitas.

36 T he sons of Shuthelah were the family of the Eranites from Eran.

Y estos son los hijos de Suthala: de Herán, la familia de los Heranitas.

37 T hese are the families of the sons of Ephraim. Their number was 32, 500. These are the sons of Joseph by their families.

Estas son las familias de los hijos de Ephraim, por sus contados, treinta y dos mil y quinientos. Estos son los hijos de José por sus familias.

38 T he sons of Benjamin by their families were the family of the Belaites from Bela, the family of the Ashbelites from Ashbel, the family of the Ahiramites from Ahiram,

Los hijos de Benjamín por sus familias: de Bela, la familia de los Belaitas; de Asbel, la familia de los Asbelitas; de Achîram, la familia de los Achîramitas;

39 t he family of the Shuphamites from Shupham, and the family of the Huphamites from Hupham.

De Supham, la familia de los Suphamitas; de Hupham, la familia de los Huphamitas.

40 T he sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman, the family of the Ardites from Ard, and the family of the Naamites from Naaman.

Y los hijos de Bela fueron Ard y Naamán: de Ard, la familia de los Arditas; de Naamán, la familia de los Naamanitas.

41 T hese are the sons of Benjamin by their families. Their number was 45, 600.

Estos son los hijos de Benjamín por sus familias; y sus contados, cuarenta y cinco mil y seiscientos.

42 T he sons of Dan by their families were the family of the Shuhamites from Shuham. These are the families of Dan by their families.

Estos son los hijos de Dan por sus familias: de Suham, la familia de los Suhamitas. Estas son las familias de Dan por sus familias.

43 T he number of all the families of the Shuhamites was 64, 400.

Todas las familias de los Suhamitas, por sus contados, sesenta y cuatro mil y cuatrocientos.

44 T he sons of Asher by their families were the family of the Imnites from Imnah, the family of the Ishvites from Ishvi, and the family of the Beriites from Beriah.

Los hijos de Aser por sus familias: de Imna, la familia de los Imnaitas; de Issui, la familia de los Issuitas; de Beria, la familia de los Beriaitas.

45 T he sons of Beriah were the family of the Heberites from Heber, and the family of the Malchielites from Malchiel.

46 T he name of Asher’s daughter was Serah.

Y el nombre de la hija de Aser fué Sera.

48 T he sons of Naphtali by their families were the family of the Jahzeelites from Jahzeel, the family of the Gunites from Guni,

Los hijos de Nephtalí por sus familias: de Jahzeel, la familia de los Jahzeelitas; de Guni, la familia de los Gunitas;

49 t he family of the Jezerites from Jezer, and the family of the Shillemites from Shillem.

De Jeser, la familia de los Jeseritas; de Sillem, la familia de los Sillemitas.

50 T hese are the families of Naphtali by their families. Their number was 45, 400.

Estas son las familias de Nephtalí por sus familias; y sus contados, cuarenta y cinco mil y cuatrocientos.

51 T hose who were numbered of the sons of Israel were 601, 730.

Estos son los contados de los hijos de Israel, seiscientos y un mil setecientos y treinta.

52 T he Lord said to Moses,

Y habló Jehová á Moisés, diciendo:

53 “ The land will be divided among these people by the number of names.

A estos se repartirá la tierra en heredad, por la cuenta de los nombres.

54 G ive more land to the larger group. Give less land to the smaller group. Each family should be given land by the number of its people.

A los más darás mayor heredad, y á los menos menor; y á cada uno se le dará su heredad conforme á sus contados.

55 B ut the land should be divided by drawing names. They will receive their land by the names of the families of their fathers.

Empero la tierra será repartida por suerte; y por los nombres de las tribus de sus padres heredarán.

56 T he land will be divided between the larger and smaller groups by the names that are drawn.”

Conforme á la suerte será repartida su heredad entre el grande y el pequeño.

57 T hose who were numbered of the Levites by their families were the family of the Gershonites from Gershon, the family of the Kohathites from Kohath, and the family of the Merarites from Merari.

Y los contados de los Levitas por sus familias son estos: de Gersón, la familia de los Gersonitas; de Coath, la familia de los Coathitas; de Merari, la familia de los Meraritas.

58 T he families of Levi were the Libnites, the Hebronites, the Mahlites, the Mushites, and the Korahites. Kohath was the father of Amram.

Estas son las familias de los Levitas: la familia de los Libnitas, la familia de los Hebronitas, la familia de los Mahalitas, la familia de los Musitas, la familia de los Coritas. Y Coath engendró á Amram.

59 T he name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi. She was born to Levi in Egypt. And she gave birth to Amram’s children, Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam.

Y la mujer de Amram se llamó Jochâbed, hija de Leví, la cual nació á Leví en Egipto: ésta parió de Amram á Aarón y á Moisés, y á María su hermana.

60 A aron was the father of Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

Y á Aarón nacieron Nadab y Abiú, Eleazar é Ithamar.

61 B ut Nadab and Abihu died when they burned fire that was not holy before the Lord.

Mas Nadab y Abiú murieron, cuando ofrecieron fuego extraño delante de Jehová.

62 T he number of all of their males a month old and older was 23, 000. For they were not numbered among the people of Israel, because no land was given to them among the people of Israel.

Y los contados de los Levitas fueron veinte y tres mil, todos varones de un mes arriba: porque no fueron contados entre los hijos de Israel, por cuanto no les había de ser dada heredad entre los hijos de Israel.

63 T hese are the people who were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the religious leader. They numbered the sons of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

Estos son los contados por Moisés y Eleazar el sacerdote, los cuales contaron los hijos de Israel en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán de Jericó.

64 B ut among all these was not one of those numbered by Moses and Aaron the religious leader when the people of Israel were numbered in the Desert of Sinai.

Y entre estos ninguno hubo de los contados por Moisés y Aarón el sacerdote, los cuales contaron á los hijos de Israel en el desierto de Sinaí.

65 F or the Lord had said of them, “For sure they will die in the desert.” There was not a man left of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

Porque Jehová les dijo: Han de morir en el desierto: y no quedó varón de ellos, sino Caleb hijo de Jephone, y Josué hijo de Nun.
