1 ¶ And it came to pass after the plague that the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

2 T ake the sum of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by the houses of their fathers, all that are able to go to war in Israel.

Tomad la suma de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, de veinte años arriba, por las casas de sus padres, todos los que puedan salir á la guerra en Israel.

3 A nd Moses and Eleazar, the priest, spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho, saying,

Y Moisés y Eleazar el sacerdote hablaron con ellos en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán de Jericó, diciendo:

4 C ount the people from twenty years old and upward as the LORD commanded Moses and the sons of Israel, who went forth out of the land of Egypt.

Contaréis el pueblo de veinte años arriba, como mandó Jehová á Moisés y á los hijos de Israel, que habían salido de tierra de Egipto.

5 ¶ Reuben, firstborn of Israel; the sons of Reuben: Enoch, of whom was the family of the Enochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

Rubén primogénito de Israel: los hijos de Rubén: Hanoc, del cual era la familia de los Hanochîtas; de Phallú, la familia de los Phalluitas;

6 o f Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

De Hesrón, la familia de los Hesronitas; de Carmi, la familia de los Carmitas.

7 T hese are the families of the Reubenites; and those numbered were forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty.

Estas son las familias de los Rubenitas: y sus contados fueron cuarenta y tres mil setecientos y treinta.

8 A nd the sons of Pallu: Eliab.

Y los hijos de Phallú: Eliab.

9 A nd the sons of Eliab: Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram, who were famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD.

Y los hijos de Eliab: Nemuel, y Dathán, y Abiram. Estos Dathán y Abiram fueron los del consejo de la congregación, que hicieron el motín contra Moisés y Aarón con la compañía de Coré, cuando se amotinaron contra Jehová.

10 A nd the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, when the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men and they became an example.

Que la tierra abrió su boca y tragó á ellos y á Coré, cuando aquella compañía murió, cuando consumió el fuego doscientos y cincuenta varones, los cuales fueron por señal.

11 N otwithstanding the sons of Korah did not die.

Mas los hijos de Coré no murieron.

12 T he sons of Simeon by their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;

Estas son las familias de Manasés; y sus contados, cincuenta y dos mil y setecientos.

Estos son los contados de los hijos de Israel, seiscientos y un mil setecientos y treinta.

52 ¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

Y habló Jehová á Moisés, diciendo:

53 U nto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.

A estos se repartirá la tierra en heredad, por la cuenta de los nombres.

54 T o those that are many thou shalt give more inheritance, and to those that are few thou shalt give less inheritance; to each one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.

A los más darás mayor heredad, y á los menos menor; y á cada uno se le dará su heredad conforme á sus contados.

55 N otwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot; according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.

Empero la tierra será repartida por suerte; y por los nombres de las tribus de sus padres heredarán.

56 A ccording to the lot shall the inheritance be divided between those that are many and those that are few.

Conforme á la suerte será repartida su heredad entre el grande y el pequeño.

57 ¶ And these are those that were numbered of the Levites by their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.

Y los contados de los Levitas por sus familias son estos: de Gersón, la familia de los Gersonitas; de Coath, la familia de los Coathitas; de Merari, la familia de los Meraritas.

58 T hese are the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korathites. And Kohath begat Amram.

Estas son las familias de los Levitas: la familia de los Libnitas, la familia de los Hebronitas, la familia de los Mahalitas, la familia de los Musitas, la familia de los Coritas. Y Coath engendró á Amram.

59 A nd the name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, daughter of Levi, whom her mother bore to Levi in Egypt: and she bore unto Amram Aaron and Moses and Miriam, their sister.

Y la mujer de Amram se llamó Jochâbed, hija de Leví, la cual nació á Leví en Egipto: ésta parió de Amram á Aarón y á Moisés, y á María su hermana.

60 A nd unto Aaron was born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

Y á Aarón nacieron Nadab y Abiú, Eleazar é Ithamar.

61 A nd Nadab and Abihu died when they offered strange fire before the LORD.

Mas Nadab y Abiú murieron, cuando ofrecieron fuego extraño delante de Jehová.

62 A nd those that were numbered of them were twenty-three thousand, all males from a month old and upward; for they were not numbered among the sons of Israel because no inheritance was to be given them among the sons of Israel.

Y los contados de los Levitas fueron veinte y tres mil, todos varones de un mes arriba: porque no fueron contados entre los hijos de Israel, por cuanto no les había de ser dada heredad entre los hijos de Israel.

63 ¶ These are those that were numbered by Moses and Eleazar, the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho.

Estos son los contados por Moisés y Eleazar el sacerdote, los cuales contaron los hijos de Israel en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán de Jericó.

64 A nd among these there was not a man of those whom Moses and Aaron the priest had numbered when they numbered the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.

Y entre estos ninguno hubo de los contados por Moisés y Aarón el sacerdote, los cuales contaron á los hijos de Israel en el desierto de Sinaí.

65 F or the LORD had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, except Caleb, the son of Jephunneh and Joshua, the son of Nun.

Porque Jehová les dijo: Han de morir en el desierto: y no quedó varón de ellos, sino Caleb hijo de Jephone, y Josué hijo de Nun.
