1 ¶ Moreover David and the captains of the host separated unto the ministry the sons of Asaph and of Heman and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals; and the number of men that were suitable for the work of their respective ministry was,

ASIMISMO David y los príncipes del ejército apartaron para el ministerio á los hijos de Asaph, y de Hemán, y de Jeduthún, los cuales profetizasen con arpas, salterios, y címbalos: y el número de ellos fué, de hombres idóneos para la obra de su ministerio respectivo:

2 o f the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied at the hand of the king.

De los hijos de Asaph: Zachûr, José, Methanías, y Asareela, hijos de Asaph, bajo la dirección de Asaph, el cual profetizaba á la orden del rey.

3 O f Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hand of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.

De Jeduthún: los hijos de Jeduthún, Gedalías, Sesi, Jesaías, Hasabías, y Mathithías, y Simi: seis, bajo la mano de su padre Jeduthún, el cual profetizaba con arpa, para celebrar y alabar á Jehová.

4 O f Heman: the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

De Hemán: los hijos de Hemán, Buccia, Mathanía, Uzziel, Sebuel, Jerimoth, Hananías, Hanani, Eliatha, Gidalthi, Romamti-ezer, Josbecasa, Mallothi, Othir, y Mahazioth.

5 A ll these were the sons of Heman, the king’s seer, in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

Todos estos fueron hijos de Hemán, vidente del rey en palabras de Dios, para ensalzar el poder suyo: y dió Dios á Hemán catorce hijos y tres hijas.

6 A ll these were under the direction of their father for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the ministry of the house of God, under the hand of the king, of Asaph, of Jeduthun, and of Heman.

Y todos estos estaban bajo la dirección de su padre en la música, en la casa de Jehová, con címbalos, salterios y arpas, para el ministerio del templo de Dios, por disposición del rey acerca de Asaph, de Jeduthún, y de Hemán.

7 S o the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that had understanding, was two hundred eighty-eight.

Y el número de ellos con sus hermanos instruídos en música de Jehová, todos los aptos, fué doscientos ochenta y ocho.

8 ¶ And they cast lots, ward against ward, the small as well as the great, the one with understanding as well as the disciple.

Y echaron suertes para los turnos del servicio, entrando el pequeño con el grande, lo mismo el maestro que el discípulo.

9 N ow the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph; the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons were twelve;

Y la primera suerte salió por Asaph, á José: la segunda á Gedalías, quien con sus hermanos é hijos fueron doce;

10 t he third to Zaccur, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La tercera á Zachûr, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

11 t he fourth to Izri, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La cuarta á Isri, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

12 t he fifth to Nethaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La quinta á Nethanías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

13 t he sixth to Bukkiah, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La sexta á Buccia, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

14 t he seventh to Jesharelah, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La séptima á Jesarela, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

15 t he eighth to Jeshaiah, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La octava á Jesahías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

16 t he ninth to Mattaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La nona á Mathanías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

17 t he tenth to Shimei, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La décima á Simi, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

18 t he eleventh to Azareel, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La undécima á Azareel, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

19 t he twelfth to Hashabiah, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La duodécima á Hasabías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

20 t he thirteenth to Shubael, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La décimatercia á Subael, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

21 t he fourteenth to Mattithiah, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La décimacuarta á Mathithías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

22 t he fifteenth to Jeremoth, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La décimaquinta á Jerimoth, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

23 t he sixteenth to Hananiah, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

La décimasexta á Hananías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

24 t he seventeenth to Joshbekashah, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

25 t he eighteenth to Hanani, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

26 t he nineteenth to Mallothi, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve:

27 t he twentieth to Eliathah, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

28 t he twenty-first to Hothir, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;

29 t he twenty-second to Giddalti, he, his sons, and his brethren were twelve;
