1 A nd it cometh to pass, after the plague, that Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, and unto Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, saying,

Y ACONTECIO después de la mortandad, que Jehová habló á Moisés, y á Eleazar hijo del sacerdote Aarón, diciendo:

2 ` Take up the sum of all the company of the sons of Israel, from a son of twenty years and upward, by the house of their fathers, every one going out to the host in Israel.'

Tomad la suma de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, de veinte años arriba, por las casas de sus padres, todos los que puedan salir á la guerra en Israel.

3 A nd Moses speaketh -- Eleazar the priest also -- with them, in the plains of Moab, by Jordan, Jericho, saying,

Y Moisés y Eleazar el sacerdote hablaron con ellos en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán de Jericó, diciendo:

4 ` From a son of twenty years and upward,' as Jehovah hath commanded Moses and the sons of Israel who are coming out from the land of Egypt.

Contaréis el pueblo de veinte años arriba, como mandó Jehová á Moisés y á los hijos de Israel, que habían salido de tierra de Egipto.

5 R euben, first-born of Israel -- sons of Reuben: Hanoch the family of the Hanochite; of Pallu the family of the Palluite;

8 A nd the son of Pallu Eliab;

Y los hijos de Phallú: Eliab.

9 a nd the sons of Eliab Nemuel and Dathan and Abiram; this Dathan and Abiram, called ones of the company, who have striven against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, in their striving against Jehovah,

Y los hijos de Eliab: Nemuel, y Dathán, y Abiram. Estos Dathán y Abiram fueron los del consejo de la congregación, que hicieron el motín contra Moisés y Aarón con la compañía de Coré, cuando se amotinaron contra Jehová.

10 a nd the earth openeth her mouth, and swalloweth them and Korah, in the death of the company, in the fire consuming the two hundred and fifty men, and they become a sign;

Que la tierra abrió su boca y tragó á ellos y á Coré, cuando aquella compañía murió, cuando consumió el fuego doscientos y cincuenta varones, los cuales fueron por señal.

11 a nd the sons of Korah died not.

Mas los hijos de Coré no murieron.

Y habló Jehová á Moisés, diciendo:

53 ` To these is the land apportioned by inheritance, by the number of names;

A estos se repartirá la tierra en heredad, por la cuenta de los nombres.

54 t o the many thou dost increase their inheritance, and to the few thou dost diminish their inheritance; each according to his numbered ones is given his inheritance.

A los más darás mayor heredad, y á los menos menor; y á cada uno se le dará su heredad conforme á sus contados.

55 ` Only by lot is the land apportioned, by the names of the tribes of their fathers they inherit;

Empero la tierra será repartida por suerte; y por los nombres de las tribus de sus padres heredarán.

56 a ccording to the lot is their inheritance apportioned between many and few.'

Conforme á la suerte será repartida su heredad entre el grande y el pequeño.

57 A nd these numbered ones of the Levite by their families: of Gershon the family of the Gershonite; of Kohath the family of the Kohathite; of Merari the family of the Merarite.

Y los contados de los Levitas por sus familias son estos: de Gersón, la familia de los Gersonitas; de Coath, la familia de los Coathitas; de Merari, la familia de los Meraritas.

58 T hese families of the Levite: the family of the Libnite, the family of the Hebronite, the family of the Mahlite, the family of the Mushite, the family of the Korathite. And Kohath hath begotten Amram,

Estas son las familias de los Levitas: la familia de los Libnitas, la familia de los Hebronitas, la familia de los Mahalitas, la familia de los Musitas, la familia de los Coritas. Y Coath engendró á Amram.

59 a nd the name of Amram's wife is Jochebed, daughter of Levi, whom hath born to Levi in Egypt; and she beareth to Amram Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam their sister.

Y la mujer de Amram se llamó Jochâbed, hija de Leví, la cual nació á Leví en Egipto: ésta parió de Amram á Aarón y á Moisés, y á María su hermana.

60 A nd born to Aaron Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar;

Y á Aarón nacieron Nadab y Abiú, Eleazar é Ithamar.

61 a nd Nadab dieth -- Abihu also -- in their bringing near strange fire before Jehovah.

Mas Nadab y Abiú murieron, cuando ofrecieron fuego extraño delante de Jehová.

62 A nd their numbered ones are three and twenty thousand, every male from a son of a month and upwards, for they have not numbered themselves in the midst of the sons of Israel; for an inheritance hath not been given to them in the midst of the sons of Israel.

Y los contados de los Levitas fueron veinte y tres mil, todos varones de un mes arriba: porque no fueron contados entre los hijos de Israel, por cuanto no les había de ser dada heredad entre los hijos de Israel.

63 T hese those numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who have numbered the sons of Israel in the plains of Moab, by Jordan, Jericho;

Estos son los contados por Moisés y Eleazar el sacerdote, los cuales contaron los hijos de Israel en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán de Jericó.

64 a nd among these there hath not been a man of those numbered by Moses, and Aaron the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai,

Y entre estos ninguno hubo de los contados por Moisés y Aarón el sacerdote, los cuales contaron á los hijos de Israel en el desierto de Sinaí.

65 f or Jehovah said of them, `They do certainly die in the wilderness;' and there hath not been left of them a man save Caleb son of Jephunneh, and Joshua son of Nun.

Porque Jehová les dijo: Han de morir en el desierto: y no quedó varón de ellos, sino Caleb hijo de Jephone, y Josué hijo de Nun.
