1 T he Lord is my light and the One Who saves me. Whom should I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom should I be afraid?

Salmo de David. JEHOVA es mi luz y mi salvación: ¿de quién temeré? Jehová es la fortaleza de mi vida: ¿de quién he de atemorizarme?

2 W hen sinful men, and all who hated me, came against me to destroy my flesh, they tripped and fell.

Cuando se allegaron contra mí los malignos, mis angustiadores y mis enemigos, Para comer mis carnes, ellos tropezaron y cayeron.

3 E ven if an army gathers against me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if war rises against me, I will be sure of You.

Aunque se asiente campo contra mí, No temerá mi corazón: Aunque contra mí se levante guerra, Yo en esto confío.

4 O ne thing I have asked from the Lord, that I will look for: that I may live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to look upon the beauty of the Lord, and to worship in His holy house.

Una cosa he demandado á Jehová, ésta buscaré: Que esté yo en la casa de Jehová todos los días de mi vida, Para contemplar la hermosura de Jehová, y para inquirir en su templo.

5 F or in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His holy tent. In the secret place of His tent He will hide me. He will set me high upon a rock.

Porque él me esconderá en su tabernáculo en el día del mal; Ocultaráme en lo reservado de su pabellón; Pondráme en alto sobre una roca.

6 T hen my head will be lifted up above all those around me who hate me. I will give gifts in His holy tent with a loud voice of joy. I will sing. Yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

Y luego ensalzará mi cabeza sobre mis enemigos en derredor de mí: Y yo sacrificaré en su tabernáculo sacrificios de júbilo: Cantaré y salmearé á Jehová.

7 O Lord, listen to my cry. Show loving-kindness to me and answer me.

Oye, oh Jehová, mi voz con que á ti clamo; Y ten misericordia de mí, respóndeme.

8 Y ou have said, “Look for My face.” My heart said to You, “O Lord, Your face will I look for.”

Mi corazón ha dicho de ti: Buscad mi rostro. Tu rostro buscaré, oh Jehová.

9 D o not hide Your face from me. Do not turn Your servant away in anger. You have been my Helper. Do not turn away from me or leave me alone, O God Who saves me!

No escondas tu rostro de mí, No apartes con ira á tu siervo: Mi ayuda has sido; No me dejes y no me desampares, Dios de mi salud.

10 F or my father and my mother have left me. But the Lord will take care of me.

Aunque mi padre y mi madre me dejaran, Jehová con todo me recogerá.

11 T each me Your way, O Lord. Lead me in a straight path, because of those who fight against me.

Enséñame, oh Jehová, tu camino, Y guíame por senda de rectitud, A causa de mis enemigos.

12 D o not give me over to the desire of those who hate me. For people who tell lies about me rise against me, and breathe a desire to hurt me.

No me entregues á la voluntad de mis enemigos; Porque se han levantado contra mí testigos falsos, y los que respiran crueldad.

13 I would have been without hope if I had not believed that I would see the loving-kindness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Hubiera yo desmayado, si no creyese que tengo de ver la bondad de Jehová En la tierra de los vivientes.

14 W ait for the Lord. Be strong. Let your heart be strong. Yes, wait for the Lord.

Aguarda á Jehová; Esfuérzate, y aliéntese tu corazón: Sí, espera á Jehová.
