3 M y true helper, I ask you to help these women who have worked with me so much in preaching the Good News to others. Clement helped also. There are others who worked with me. Their names are in the book of life.

E peço também a ti, meu verdadeiro companheiro, que as ajudes, porque trabalharam comigo no evangelho, e com Clemente, e com os outros meus cooperadores, cujos nomes estão no livro da vida.

4 B e full of joy always because you belong to the Lord. Again I say, be full of joy!

Regozijai-vos sempre no Senhor; outra vez digo, regozijai- vos.

5 L et all people see how gentle you are. The Lord is coming again soon.

Seja a vossa moderação conhecida de todos os homens. Perto está o Senhor.

6 D o not worry. Learn to pray about everything. Give thanks to God as you ask Him for what you need.

Não andeis ansiosos por coisa alguma; antes em tudo sejam os vossos pedidos conhecidos diante de Deus pela oração e súplica com ações de graças;

7 T he peace of God is much greater than the human mind can understand. This peace will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

e a paz de Deus, que excede todo o entendimento, guardará os vossos corações e os vossos pensamentos em Cristo Jesus.

8 C hristian brothers, keep your minds thinking about whatever is true, whatever is respected, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever can be loved, and whatever is well thought of. If there is anything good and worth giving thanks for, think about these things.

Quanto ao mais, irmãos, tudo o que é verdadeiro, tudo o que é honesto, tudo o que é justo, tudo o que é puro, tudo o que é amável, tudo o que é de boa fama, se há alguma virtude, e se há algum louvor, nisso pensai.

9 K eep on doing all the things you learned and received and heard from me. Do the things you saw me do. Then the God Who gives peace will be with you.

O que também aprendestes, e recebestes, e ouvistes, e vistes em mim, isso praticai; e o Deus de paz será convosco.

10 T he Lord gives me a reason to be full of joy. It is because you are able to care for me again. I know you wanted to before but you did not have a way to help me.

Ora, muito me regozijo no Senhor por terdes finalmente renovado o vosso cuidado para comigo; do qual na verdade andáveis lembrados, mas vos faltava oportunidade.

11 I am not saying I need anything. I have learned to be happy with whatever I have.

Não digo isto por causa de necessidade, porque já aprendi a contentar-me com as circunstâncias em que me encontre.

12 I know how to get along with little and how to live when I have much. I have learned the secret of being happy at all times. If I am full of food and have all I need, I am happy. If I am hungry and need more, I am happy.

Sei passar falta, e sei também ter abundância; em toda maneira e em todas as coisas estou experimentado, tanto em ter fartura, como em passar fome; tanto em ter abundância, como em padecer necessidade.

13 I can do all things because Christ gives me the strength.

Posso todas as coisas naquele que me fortalece.

14 I t was kind of you to help me when I was in trouble.

Todavia fizestes bem em tomar parte na minha aflição.

15 Y ou Philippians also know that when I first preached the Good News, you were the only church that helped me. It was when I left for the country of Macedonia.

Também vós sabeis, ó filipenses, que, no princípio do evangelho, quando parti da Macedônia, nenhuma igreja comunicou comigo no sentido de dar e de receber, senão vós somente;

16 E ven while I was in the city of Thessalonica you helped me more than once.

porque estando eu ainda em Tessalônica, não uma só vez, mas duas, mandastes suprir-me as necessidades.

17 I t is not that I want to receive the gift. I want you to get the pay that is coming to you later.

Não que procure dádivas, mas procuro o fruto que cresça para a vossa conta.

18 I have everything I need and more than enough. I am taken care of because Epaphroditus brought your gift. It is a sweet gift. It is a gift that cost you something. It is the kind of gift God is so pleased with.

Mas tenho tudo; tenho-o até em abundância; cheio estou, depois que recebi de Epafrodito o que da vossa parte me foi enviado, como cheiro suave, como sacrifício aceitável e aprazível a Deus.

19 A nd my God will give you everything you need because of His great riches in Christ Jesus.

Meu Deus suprirá todas as vossas necessidades segundo as suas riquezas na glória em Cristo Jesus.

20 N ow may our God and Father be honored forever. Let it be so.

Ora, a nosso Deus e Pai seja dada glória pelos séculos dos séculos. Amém.
