1 T he queen of Sheba heard how well Solomon was known in all the lands. So she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions. She came with many servants and camels carrying spices and much gold and stones of much worth. When she came to Solomon, she talked with him about all that was on her heart.

Tendo a rainha de Sabá ouvido da fama de Salomão, veio a Jerusalém para prová-lo por enigmas; trazia consigo uma grande comitiva, e camelos carregados de especiarias, e ouro em abundância, e pedras preciosas; e vindo ter com Salomão, falou com ele de tudo o que tinha no seu coração.

2 A nd Solomon answered all her questions. There was nothing hidden from him which he could not make clear to her.

E Salomão lhe respondeu a todas as perguntas; não houve nada que Salomão não lhe soubesse explicar.

3 T hen the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon and the house he had built.

Vendo, pois, a rainha de Sabá a sabedoria de Salomão, e a casa que ele edificara,

4 S he saw the food at his table, and all his captains sitting there. She saw all those who were bringing in the food, and how they were dressed. She saw those who carried the cups, and their clothing. And she saw the burnt gifts that Solomon gave at the house of the Lord. After that, there was no more spirit in her.

e as iguarias da sua mesa, e o assentar dos seus oficiais, e as funções e os trajes dos seus servos, e os seus copeiros e os trajes deles, e os holocaustos que ele oferecia na casa do Senhor, ficou estupefata.

5 S he said to the king, “The news was true which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.

Então disse ao rei: Era verdade o que ouvi na minha terra acerca dos teus feitos e da tua sabedoria.

6 B ut I did not believe the news until I came and saw it with my own eyes. See, half the greatness of your wisdom was not told to me. You are greater than what I had heard.

Todavia eu não o acreditava, até que vim e os meus olhos o viram; e eis que não me contaram metade da grandeza da tua sabedoria; sobrepujaste a fama que ouvi.

7 H appy are your men! Happy are your servants who stand in front of you all the time hearing your wisdom!

Bem-aventurados os teus homens! Bem-aventurados estes teus servos, que estão sempre diante de ti, e ouvem a tua sabedoria!

8 P raise be to the Lord your God Who was pleased with you! He set you on His throne as king for the Lord your God. Your God loved Israel and would have them last forever. So He made you king over them to do what is fair and right and good.”

Bendito seja o Senhor teu Deus, que se agradou de ti, colocando-te sobre o seu trono, para ser rei pelo Senhor teu Deus! Porque teu Deus amou a Israel, para o estabelecer perpetuamente, por isso te constituiu rei sobre eles, para executares juízo e justiça.

9 T hen she gave the king gold weighing as much as 120 men, a very large amount of spices, and stones of much worth. There had never been spices like what the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

Então ela deu ao rei cento e vinte talentos de ouro, e especiarias em grande abundância, e pedras preciosas; e nunca houve tais especiarias quais a rainha de Sabá deu ao rei Salomão.

10 H uram’s servants and Solomon’s servants brought gold from Ophir. They also brought algum trees and stones of much worth.

Também os servos de Hurão, e os servos de Salomão, que de Ofir trouxeram ouro, trouxeram madeira de algumins, e pedras preciosas.

11 T he king used the algum wood to make steps for the house of the Lord and for the king’s house. And he used it to make different kinds of harps for the singers. There were none seen like them before in the land of Judah.

E o rei fez, da madeira de algumins, degraus para a casa do Senhor e para a casa do rei, como também harpas e alaúdes para os cantores, quais nunca dantes se viram na terra de Judá.

12 K ing Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she asked for, much more than she had brought to him. Then she returned to her own land with her servants. King Solomon’s Riches

E o rei Salomão deu ã rainha de Sabá tudo quanto ela desejou, tudo quanto lhe pediu, excedendo mesmo o que ela trouxera ao rei. Assim voltou e foi para a sua terra, ela e os seus servos.

13 T he gold that came to Solomon in one year weighed as much as 666 men.

Ora, o peso do ouro que se trazia cada ano a Salomão era de seiscentos e sessenta e seis talentos,

14 T raders and men who buy and sell brought gold also. And all the kings of Arabia and the leaders of the land brought gold and silver to Solomon.

afora o que os mercadores e negociantes traziam; também todos os reis da Arábia, e os governadores do país traziam a Salomão ouro e prata.

15 K ing Solomon made 200 battle-coverings of beaten gold. The beaten gold he used to make each large covering was as much as 600 gold pieces.

E o rei Salomão fez duzentos paveses de ouro batido, empregando em cada pavês seiscentos siclos de ouro batido;

16 A nd he made 300 battle-coverings of beaten gold, using as much as 300 gold pieces worth of gold for each covering. The king put them in the House of the Trees of Lebanon.

como também trezentos escudos de ouro batido, empregando em cada escudo trezentos siclos de ouro. E o rei os depositou na casa do bosque do Líbano.

17 T he king made a great throne of ivory and covered it with pure gold.

Fez mais o rei um grande trono de marfim, e o revestiu de ouro puro.

18 T here were six steps to the throne, and a part made of gold for his feet was joined to the throne. The throne had arms on each side, and two lions standing beside the arms.

O trono tinha seis degraus e um estrado de ouro, que eram ligados ao trono, e de ambos os lados tinha braços junto ao lugar do assento, e dois leões de pé junto aos braços.

19 T welve lions were standing on each side of the six steps. Nothing like it had ever been made for the king of any other nation.

E havia doze leões em pé de um e outro lado sobre os seis degraus; outro tal não se fizera em reino algum.

20 A ll King Solomon’s cups were made of gold. And all the cups of the House of the Trees of Lebanon were made of pure gold. Silver was not thought of as having much worth in the days of Solomon.

Também todos os vasos de beber do rei Salomão eram de ouro, e todos os utensílios da casa do bosque do Líbano, de ouro puro; a prata reputava-se sem valor nos dias de Salomão.

21 F or the king had ships which went to Tarshish with Huram’s servants. Once every three years the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.

Pois o rei tinha navios que iam a Társis com os servos de Hurão; de três em três anos os navios voltavam de Társis, trazendo ouro, prata, marfim, bugios e pavões.

22 S o King Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

Assim excedeu o rei Salomão todos os reis da terra, em riqueza e em sabedoria.

23 A nd all the kings of the earth wanted to be with Solomon, to hear his wisdom which God had put into his heart.

E todos os reis da terra buscavam a presença de Salomão para ouvirem a sabedoria que Deus lhe tinha posto no coração.

24 E very one of them brought his gift. Objects of silver and gold, clothing, objects for battle, spices, horses and donkeys, were brought each year.

Cada um trazia o seu presente, vasos de prata, vasos de ouro, vestidos, armaduras, especiarias, cavalos e mulos, uma quota de ano em ano.

25 S olomon had 4, 000 rooms for horses and war-wagons, and 12, 000 horsemen. He put them in the war-wagon cities and with the king in Jerusalem.

Teve também Salomão quatro mil manjedouras para os cavalos de seus carros, doze mil cavaleiros; e os colocou nas cidades dos carros, e junto ao rei em Jerusalém.

26 H e was the ruler over all the kings from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, and as far as the land of Egypt.

Ele dominava sobre todos os reis, desde o Rio Eufrates até a terra dos filisteus, e até o termo do Egito.

27 A nd the king made silver as easy to find as stones in Jerusalem. He made cedar trees as easy to find as sycamore trees in the valley.

Também o rei tornou a prata tão comum em Jerusalém como as pedras, e os cedros tantos em abundância como os sicômoros que há na baixada.

28 A nd horses were brought in for Solomon from Egypt and from all countries. Death of Solomon

E cavalos eram trazidos a Salomão do Egito e de todas as terras.

29 N ow the rest of the acts of Solomon, from first to last, are written in the words of Nathan the man of God. They are written in the holy words of Ahijah the Shilonite. And they are written in the special dreams of Iddo, the man who tells what will happen in the future, about Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Ora, o restante dos atos de Salomão, desde os primeiros até os últimos, porventura não estão escritos na história de Natã, o profeta, e na profecia de Aías, o silonita, e nas visões de Ido, o vidente, acerca de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate?

30 S olomon ruled forty years in Jerusalem over all Israel.

Salomão reinou em Jerusalém quarenta anos sobre todo o Israel.

31 W hen he died he was buried in the city of his father David. And his son Rehoboam ruled in his place.

E dormiu com seus pais, e foi sepultado na cidade de Davi, seu pai. E Roboão, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
