1 T he queen of Sheba heard how well Solomon was known in all the lands. So she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions. She came with many servants and camels carrying spices and much gold and stones of much worth. When she came to Solomon, she talked with him about all that was on her heart.

Y oyendo la reina de Sabá la fama de Salomón, vino a Jerusalén para tentar a Salomón con enigmas, con un muy gran ejército, con camellos cargados de aroma, y oro en abundancia, y piedras preciosas. Y luego que vino a Salomón, habló con él todo lo que tenía en su corazón.

2 A nd Solomon answered all her questions. There was nothing hidden from him which he could not make clear to her.

Pero Salomón le declaró todas sus palabras; ninguna cosa quedó que Salomón no le declarara.

3 T hen the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon and the house he had built.

Y viendo la reina de Sabá la sabiduría de Salomón, y la casa que había edificado,

4 S he saw the food at his table, and all his captains sitting there. She saw all those who were bringing in the food, and how they were dressed. She saw those who carried the cups, and their clothing. And she saw the burnt gifts that Solomon gave at the house of the Lord. After that, there was no more spirit in her.

y las viandas de su mesa, y el asiento de sus siervos, y la atención de sus ministros, y los vestidos de ellos, sus maestresalas y sus vestidos, y sus holocaustos que sacrificaba en la Casa del SEÑOR, no quedó más espíritu en ella.

5 S he said to the king, “The news was true which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.

Y dijo al rey: Verdad es lo que había oído en mi tierra de tu palabra y de tu sabiduría;

6 B ut I did not believe the news until I came and saw it with my own eyes. See, half the greatness of your wisdom was not told to me. You are greater than what I had heard.

mas yo no creía las palabras de ellos, hasta que he venido, y mis ojos han visto; y he aquí que ni aun la mitad de la grandeza de tu sabiduría me había sido dicha; porque tú añades sobre la fama que yo había oído.

7 H appy are your men! Happy are your servants who stand in front of you all the time hearing your wisdom!

Bienaventurados tus varones, y bienaventurados éstos tus siervos, que están siempre delante de ti, y oyen tu sabiduría.

8 P raise be to the Lord your God Who was pleased with you! He set you on His throne as king for the Lord your God. Your God loved Israel and would have them last forever. So He made you king over them to do what is fair and right and good.”

El SEÑOR tu Dios sea bendito, el cual se ha agradado en ti para ponerte sobre su trono por rey del SEÑOR tu Dios; por cuanto tu Dios ha amado a Israel para afirmarlo perpetuamente, y te puso por rey sobre ellos para que hagas juicio y justicia.

9 T hen she gave the king gold weighing as much as 120 men, a very large amount of spices, and stones of much worth. There had never been spices like what the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

Y dio al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro, y gran copia de especiería, y piedras preciosas; nunca hubo tal especiería como la que dio la reina de Sabá al rey Salomón.

10 H uram’s servants and Solomon’s servants brought gold from Ophir. They also brought algum trees and stones of much worth.

También los siervos de Hiram y los siervos de Salomón, que habían traído el oro de Ofir, trajeron madera de brasil, y piedras preciosas.

11 T he king used the algum wood to make steps for the house of the Lord and for the king’s house. And he used it to make different kinds of harps for the singers. There were none seen like them before in the land of Judah.

E hizo el rey de la madera de brasil gradas en la Casa del SEÑOR, y en las casas reales, y arpas y salterios para los cantores; nunca en tierra de Judá se había visto madera semejante.

12 K ing Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she asked for, much more than she had brought to him. Then she returned to her own land with her servants. King Solomon’s Riches

Y el rey Salomón dio a la reina de Sabá todo lo que ella quiso y le pidió, más de lo que había traído al rey. Después se volvió y se fue a su tierra con sus siervos.

13 T he gold that came to Solomon in one year weighed as much as 666 men.

Y el peso del oro que venía a Salomón cada año, era seiscientos sesenta y seis talentos de oro,

14 T raders and men who buy and sell brought gold also. And all the kings of Arabia and the leaders of the land brought gold and silver to Solomon.

sin lo que traían los mercaderes y negociantes; y también todos los reyes de Arabia y los gobernadores de la tierra traían oro y plata a Salomón.

15 K ing Solomon made 200 battle-coverings of beaten gold. The beaten gold he used to make each large covering was as much as 600 gold pieces.

Hizo también el rey Salomón doscientos paveses de oro de martillo, cada uno de los cuales tenía seiscientos siclos de oro labrado.

16 A nd he made 300 battle-coverings of beaten gold, using as much as 300 gold pieces worth of gold for each covering. The king put them in the House of the Trees of Lebanon.

Asimismo trescientos escudos de oro batido, teniendo cada escudo trescientos siclos de oro; y los puso el rey en la casa del bosque del Líbano.

17 T he king made a great throne of ivory and covered it with pure gold.

¶ Hizo también el rey un gran trono de marfil, y lo cubrió de oro puro.

18 T here were six steps to the throne, and a part made of gold for his feet was joined to the throne. The throne had arms on each side, and two lions standing beside the arms.

Y había seis gradas al trono, con un estrado de oro al mismo, y brazos a un lado y al otro al lugar del asiento, y dos leones que estaban junto a los brazos.

19 T welve lions were standing on each side of the six steps. Nothing like it had ever been made for the king of any other nation.

Había también allí doce leones sobre las seis gradas de un lado y al otro. Jamás fue hecho otro semejante en reino alguno.

20 A ll King Solomon’s cups were made of gold. And all the cups of the House of the Trees of Lebanon were made of pure gold. Silver was not thought of as having much worth in the days of Solomon.

¶ Toda la vajilla del rey Salomón era de oro, y toda la vajilla de la casa del bosque del Líbano, de oro puro. En los días de Salomón la plata no era de estima.

21 F or the king had ships which went to Tarshish with Huram’s servants. Once every three years the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.

Porque la flota del rey iba a Tarsis con los siervos de Hiram, y cada tres años solían venir las naves de Tarsis, y traían oro, plata, marfil, simios, y pavos.

22 S o King Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

Y excedió el rey Salomón a todos los reyes de la tierra en riqueza y en sabiduría.

23 A nd all the kings of the earth wanted to be with Solomon, to hear his wisdom which God had put into his heart.

Y todos los reyes de la tierra procuraban ver el rostro de Salomón, para oír su sabiduría, que Dios había puesto en su corazón.

24 E very one of them brought his gift. Objects of silver and gold, clothing, objects for battle, spices, horses and donkeys, were brought each year.

Y de éstos, cada uno traía su presente, vasos de plata, vasos de oro, vestidos, armas, especierías, caballos y mulos, todos los años.

25 S olomon had 4, 000 rooms for horses and war-wagons, and 12, 000 horsemen. He put them in the war-wagon cities and with the king in Jerusalem.

Tuvo también Salomón cuatro mil caballerizas para los caballos y carros, y doce mil jinetes, los cuales puso en las ciudades de los carros, y con el rey en Jerusalén.

26 H e was the ruler over all the kings from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, and as far as the land of Egypt.

Y tuvo señorío sobre todos los reyes desde el río hasta la tierra de los filisteos, y hasta el término de Egipto.

27 A nd the king made silver as easy to find as stones in Jerusalem. He made cedar trees as easy to find as sycamore trees in the valley.

Y puso el rey plata en Jerusalén como piedras, y cedros como los cabrahigos que nacen por las campiñas en abundancia.

28 A nd horses were brought in for Solomon from Egypt and from all countries. Death of Solomon

Sacaban también caballos para Salomón, de Egipto y de todas las tierras.

29 N ow the rest of the acts of Solomon, from first to last, are written in the words of Nathan the man of God. They are written in the holy words of Ahijah the Shilonite. And they are written in the special dreams of Iddo, the man who tells what will happen in the future, about Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Los demás hechos de Salomón, primeros y postreros, ¿no está todo escrito en los libros de Natán profeta, y en la profecía de Ahías, el silonita, y en las visiones del vidente Iddo contra Jeroboam hijo de Nabat?

30 S olomon ruled forty years in Jerusalem over all Israel.

Y reinó Salomón en Jerusalén sobre todo Israel cuarenta años.

31 W hen he died he was buried in the city of his father David. And his son Rehoboam ruled in his place.

Y durmió Salomón con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en la ciudad de David su padre; y reinó en su lugar Roboam su hijo.
