1 T hen God spoke all these words, saying,

¶ Y habló Dios todas estas palabras, diciendo:

2 “ I am the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house where you were servants.

Yo soy el SEÑOR tu Dios, que te saqué de la tierra de Egipto, de casa de siervos.

3 “ Have no gods other than Me.

No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí.

4 “ Do not make for yourselves a god to look like anything that is in heaven above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth.

No te harás imagen, ni ninguna semejanza de cosa que esté arriba en el cielo, ni abajo en la tierra, ni en las aguas debajo de la tierra.

5 “ Do not worship them or work for them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God. I punish the children, even the great-grandchildren, for the sins of their fathers who hate Me.

No te inclinarás a ellas, ni las honrarás; porque yo soy el SEÑOR tu Dios, fuerte, celoso, que visito la iniquidad de los padres sobre los hijos, hasta la tercera y cuarta generación, de los que me aborrecen,

6 B ut I show loving-kindness to thousands of those who love Me and keep My Laws.

y que hago misericordia por millares de generaciones a los que me aman, y guardan mis mandamientos.

7 “ Do not use the name of the Lord your God in a false way. For the Lord will punish the one who uses His name in a false way.

No tomarás el Nombre del SEÑOR tu Dios en vano; porque no dará por inocente el SEÑOR al que tomare su Nombre en vano.

8 “ Remember the Day of Rest, to keep it holy.

Te acordarás del día de reposo, para santificarlo:

9 S ix days you will do all your work.

Seis días obrarás, y harás toda tu obra;

10 B ut the seventh day is a Day of Rest to the Lord your God. You, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, your cattle, or the traveler who stays with you, must not do any work on this day.

mas el séptimo día será sábado al SEÑOR tu Dios; no hagas en él obra alguna, tú, ni tu hijo, ni tu hija, ni tu siervo, ni tu criada, ni tu bestia, ni tu extranjero que está dentro de tus puertas;

11 F or in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea and all that is in them. And He rested on the seventh day. So the Lord gave honor to the Day of Rest and made it holy.

porque en seis días hizo el SEÑOR los cielos y la tierra, el mar y todas las cosas que en ellos hay, y reposó en el séptimo día; por tanto el SEÑOR bendijo el día del sábado y lo santificó.

12 “ Honor your father and your mother, so your life may be long in the land the Lord your God gives you.

¶ Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, para que tus días sean alargados sobre la tierra que el SEÑOR tu Dios te da.

13 “ Do not kill other people.

No cometerás homicidio.

14 “ Do not do sex sins.

No cometerás adulterio.

15 “ Do not steal.

No hurtarás.

16 “ Do not tell a lie about your neighbor.

No hablarás contra tu prójimo falso testimonio.

17 “ Do not have a desire for your neighbor’s house. Do not have a desire for his wife or his male servant, his female servant, or his bull or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

No codiciarás la casa de tu prójimo, no codiciarás la mujer de tu prójimo, ni su siervo, ni su criada, ni su buey, ni su asno, ni cosa alguna de tu prójimo.

18 A ll the people heard and saw the thunder and lightning, the sound of the horn, and the mountain smoking. And when the people saw it, they shook with fear and stood far away.

¶ Todo el pueblo consideraba las voces, y las llamas, y el sonido de la trompeta, y el monte que humeaba; y viéndolo el pueblo, temblaron, y se pusieron de lejos.

19 T hey said to Moses, “You speak to us and we will listen. But do not let God speak to us or we will die.”

Y dijeron a Moisés: Habla tú con nosotros, que nosotros oiremos; y no hable Dios con nosotros, para que no muramos.

20 M oses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so you may have enough fear of Him to keep you from sinning.”

Entonces Moisés respondió al pueblo: No temáis; que para probaros vino Dios, y para que su temor esté en vuestra presencia para que no pequéis.

21 T he people stood far away, while Moses came near to the cloud where God was.

Entonces el pueblo se puso de lejos, y Moisés se acercó a la oscuridad en la cual estaba Dios.

22 T hen the Lord said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘You have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven.

¶ Y el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Así dirás a los hijos de Israel: Vosotros habéis visto que he hablado desde el cielo con vosotros.

23 D o not make any gods other than Me. Do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.

No hagáis junto a mí dioses de plata, ni dioses de oro os haréis.

24 M ake an altar of earth for Me, and on it give your burnt and peace gifts in worship, your sheep and cattle. In every place where My name is to be remembered, I will come to you and bring good to you.

Altar de tierra harás para mí, y sacrificarás sobre él tus holocaustos y tus ofrendas de paz, tus ovejas y tus vacas; en cualquier lugar donde yo hiciere que esté la memoria de mi Nombre, vendré a ti, y te bendeciré.

25 I f you make an altar of stone for Me, do not build it of cut stones. For if you use an object to cut it, it will be unclean.

Y si me hicieres altar de piedras, no las labres de cantería; porque si alzares tu pico sobre él, tú lo ensuciarás.

26 A nd do not go up on steps to My altar, so no part of your body may be seen without being covered.’

Y no subirás por gradas a mi altar, para que tu desnudez no sea descubierta junto a él.
