1 T his letter is from Paul and Silas and Timothy. It is to the church in the city of Thessalonica that belongs to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¶ Pablo, y Silvano, y Timoteo, a la Iglesia de los tesalonicenses congregada en Dios nuestro Padre y en el Señor nuestro, Jesús el Cristo:

2 M ay you have loving-favor and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Gracia y paz tengáis de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesús el Cristo.

3 W e must give thanks to God for you always, Christian brothers. It is the right thing to do because your faith is growing so much. Your love for each other is stronger all the time.

Debemos siempre dar gracias a Dios por vosotros, hermanos, como es digno, por cuanto vuestra fe va creciendo, y la caridad de todos y cada uno de vosotros abunda entre vosotros;

4 W e are proud of you and tell the other churches about you. We tell them how your faith stays so strong even when people make it hard for you and make you suffer.

tanto, que nosotros mismos nos gloriamos de vosotros en las Iglesias de Dios, de vuestra paciencia y fe en todas vuestras persecuciones y tribulaciones que sufrís;

5 G od wants you to prove yourselves to be worth being in His holy nation by suffering for Him.

¶ en testimonio del justo juicio de Dios, para que seáis tenidos por dignos del Reino de Dios, por el cual asimismo padecéis.

6 H e does what is right and will allow trouble to come to those who are making it hard for you.

Porque es justo acerca de Dios pagar con tribulación a los que os atribulan;

7 H e will help you and us who are suffering. This will happen when the Lord Jesus comes down from heaven with His powerful angels in a bright fire.

y a vosotros, que sois atribulados, daros reposo con nosotros, cuando se manifieste el Señor Jesús del cielo con los ángeles de su potencia,

8 H e will punish those who do not know God and those who do not obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ.

con llama de fuego, para dar el pago a los que no conocieron a Dios, ni obedecen al Evangelio del Señor nuestro, Jesús el Cristo;

9 T hey will be punished forever and taken away from the Lord and from the shining-greatness of His power.

los cuales serán castigados de eterna perdición por la presencia del Señor, y por la gloria de su potencia,

10 O n the day He comes, His shining-greatness will be seen in those who belong to Him. On that day, He will receive honor from all those who put their trust in Him. You believed what we had to say to you.

cuando viniere para ser glorificado en sus santos, y a hacerse admirable en aquel día en todos los que creyeron (por cuanto nuestro testimonio ha sido creído entre vosotros);

11 F or this reason, we always pray for you. We pray that our God will make you worth being chosen. We pray that His power will help you do the good things you want to do. We pray that your work of faith will be complete.

¶ por lo cual, asimismo oramos siempre por vosotros, que nuestro Dios os tenga por dignos de su llamado, y llene de bondad a cada voluntad, y a toda obra de fe con potencia,

12 I n this way, the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be honored by you and you will be honored by Him. It is through the loving-favor of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.

para que el Nombre del Señor nuestro, Jesús el Cristo sea clarificado en vosotros, y vosotros en él, por la gracia de nuestro Dios y del Señor Jesús el Cristo.
