1 T his letter is from Paul and Silas and Timothy. It is to the church in the city of Thessalonica that belongs to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paulo, Silvano e Timóteo, à igreja dos tessalonicenses, em Deus nosso Pai e no Senhor Jesus Cristo:

2 M ay you have loving-favor and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

A vocês, graça e paz da parte de Deus Pai e do Senhor Jesus Cristo. Ação de Graças e Oração

3 W e must give thanks to God for you always, Christian brothers. It is the right thing to do because your faith is growing so much. Your love for each other is stronger all the time.

Irmãos, devemos sempre dar graças a Deus por vocês; e isso é justo, porque a fé que vocês têm cresce cada vez mais, e muito aumenta o amor de todos vocês uns pelos outros.

4 W e are proud of you and tell the other churches about you. We tell them how your faith stays so strong even when people make it hard for you and make you suffer.

Por esta causa nos gloriamos em vocês entre as igrejas de Deus pela perseverança e fé demostrada por vocês em todas as perseguições e tribulações que estão suportando.

5 G od wants you to prove yourselves to be worth being in His holy nation by suffering for Him.

Elas dão prova do justo juízo de Deus e mostram o seu desejo de que vocês sejam considerados dignos do seu Reino, pelo qual vocês também estão sofrendo.

6 H e does what is right and will allow trouble to come to those who are making it hard for you.

É justo da parte de Deus retribuir com tribulação aos que lhes causam tribulação,

7 H e will help you and us who are suffering. This will happen when the Lord Jesus comes down from heaven with His powerful angels in a bright fire.

e dar alívio a vocês, que estão sendo atribulados, e a nós também. Isso acontecerá quando o Senhor Jesus for revelado lá dos céus, com os seus anjos poderosos, em meio a chamas flamejantes.

8 H e will punish those who do not know God and those who do not obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ele punirá os que não conhecem a Deus e os que não obedecem ao evangelho de nosso Senhor Jesus.

9 T hey will be punished forever and taken away from the Lord and from the shining-greatness of His power.

Eles sofrerão a pena de destruição eterna, a separação da presença do Senhor e da majestade do seu poder.

10 O n the day He comes, His shining-greatness will be seen in those who belong to Him. On that day, He will receive honor from all those who put their trust in Him. You believed what we had to say to you.

Isso acontecerá no dia em que ele vier para ser glorificado em seus santos e admirado em todos os que creram, inclusive vocês que creram em nosso testemunho.

11 F or this reason, we always pray for you. We pray that our God will make you worth being chosen. We pray that His power will help you do the good things you want to do. We pray that your work of faith will be complete.

Conscientes disso, oramos constantemente por vocês, para que o nosso Deus os faça dignos da vocação e, com poder, cumpra todo bom propósito e toda obra que procede da fé.

12 I n this way, the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be honored by you and you will be honored by Him. It is through the loving-favor of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Assim o nome de nosso Senhor Jesus será glorificado em vocês, e vocês nele, segundo a graça de nosso Deus e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
