1 J esus went away from the city of Capernaum. He came to the country of Judea and to the other side of the Jordan River. Again the people gathered around Him. He began to teach them as He had been doing.

Então Jesus saiu dali e foi para a região da Judéia e para o outro lado do Jordão. Novamente uma multidão veio a ele e, segundo o seu costume, ele a ensinava.

2 T he proud religious law-keepers came to Him. They tried to trap Him and asked, “Does the Law say a man can divorce his wife?”

Alguns fariseus aproximaram-se dele para pô-lo à prova, perguntando: “É permitido ao homem divorciar-se de sua mulher?”

3 H e said to them, “What did the Law of Moses say?”

“O que Moisés lhes ordenou?”, perguntou ele.

4 T hey said, “Moses allowed a man to divorce his wife, if he put it in writing and gave it to her.”

Eles disseram: “Moisés permitiu que o homem lhe desse uma certidão de divórcio e a mandasse embora”.

5 J esus said to them, “Because of your hard hearts, Moses gave you this Law.

Respondeu Jesus: “Moisés escreveu essa lei por causa da dureza de coração de vocês.

6 F rom the beginning of the world, God made them man and woman.

Mas no princípio da criação Deus ‘os fez homem e mulher’.

7 B ecause of this, a man is to leave his father and mother and is to live with his wife.

‘Por esta razão, o homem deixará pai e mãe e se unirá à sua mulher,

8 T he two will become one. So they are no longer two, but one.

e os dois se tornarão uma só carne’. Assim, eles já não são dois, mas sim uma só carne.

9 L et no man divide what God has put together.”

Portanto, o que Deus uniu, ninguém o separe”.

10 I n the house the followers asked Jesus about this again.

Quando estava em casa novamente, os discípulos interrogaram Jesus sobre o mesmo assunto.

11 H e said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another is not faithful to her and is guilty of a sex sin.

Ele respondeu: “Todo aquele que se divorciar de sua mulher e se casar com outra mulher, estará cometendo adultério contra ela.

12 I f a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she is not faithful to her husband and is guilty of a sex sin.” Jesus Gives Thanks for Little Children

13 T hey brought little children to Jesus that He might put His hand on them. The followers spoke sharp words to those who brought them.

Alguns traziam crianças a Jesus para que ele tocasse nelas, mas os discípulos os repreendiam.

14 J esus saw this and was angry with the followers. He said, “Let the little children come to Me. Do not stop them. The holy nation of God is made up of ones like these.

Quando Jesus viu isso, ficou indignado e lhes disse: “Deixem vir a mim as crianças, não as impeçam; pois o Reino de Deus pertence aos que são semelhantes a elas.

15 F or sure, I tell you, whoever does not receive the holy nation of God as a little child does not go into it.”

Digo-lhes a verdade: Quem não receber o Reino de Deus como uma criança, nunca entrará nele”.

16 H e took the children in His arms. He put His hands on them and prayed that good would come to them. Jesus Teaches about Keeping the Law

Em seguida, tomou as crianças nos braços, impôs-lhes as mãos e as abençoou. O Jovem Rico

17 J esus was going on His way. A man ran to Him and got down on his knees. He said, “Good Teacher, what must I do to have life that lasts forever?”

Quando Jesus ia saindo, um homem correu em sua direção e se pôs de joelhos diante dele e lhe perguntou: “Bom mestre, que farei para herdar a vida eterna?”

18 J esus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? There is only One Who is good. That is God.

Respondeu-lhe Jesus: “Por que você me chama bom? Ninguém é bom, a não ser um, que é Deus.

19 Y ou know the Laws, ‘Do not be guilty of sex sins in marriage. Do not kill another person. Do not take things from people in wrong ways. Do not steal. Do not lie. Respect your father and mother.’”

Você conhece os mandamentos: ‘Não matarás, não adulterarás, não furtarás, não darás falso testemunho, não enganarás ninguém, honra teu pai e tua mãe’ ”.

20 T he man said to Jesus, “Teacher, I have obeyed all these Laws since I was a boy.”

E ele declarou: “Mestre, a tudo isso tenho obedecido desde a minha adolescência”.

21 J esus looked at him with love and said, “There is one thing for you to do yet. Go and sell everything you have and give the money to poor people. You will have riches in heaven. Then come and follow Me.”

Jesus olhou para ele e o amou. “Falta-lhe uma coisa”, disse ele. “Vá, venda tudo o que você possui e dê o dinheiro aos pobres, e você terá um tesouro no céu. Depois, venha e siga-me.”

22 W hen the man heard these words, he was sad. He walked away with sorrow because he had many riches here on earth. The Danger of Riches

Diante disso ele ficou abatido e afastou-se triste, porque tinha muitas riquezas.

23 J esus looked around Him. He said to His followers, “How hard it is for rich people to get into the holy nation of God!”

Jesus olhou ao redor e disse aos seus discípulos: “Como é difícil aos ricos entrar no Reino de Deus!”

24 T he followers were surprised and wondered about His words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children! How hard it is for those who put their trust in riches to get into the holy nation of God!

Os discípulos ficaram admirados com essas palavras. Mas Jesus repetiu: “Filhos, como é difícil entrar no Reino de Deus!

25 I t is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven.”

É mais fácil passar um camelo pelo fundo de uma agulha do que um rico entrar no Reino de Deus”.

26 T hey were very surprised and wondered, saying to themselves, “Then who can be saved from the punishment of sin?”

Os discípulos ficaram perplexos, e perguntavam uns aos outros: “Neste caso, quem pode ser salvo?”

27 J esus looked at them and said, “This cannot be done by men but God can do anything.”

Jesus olhou para eles e respondeu: “Para o homem é impossível, mas para Deus não; todas as coisas são possíveis para Deus”.

28 T hen Peter began to say to Him, “We have given up everything we had and have followed You.”

Então Pedro começou a dizer-lhe: “Nós deixamos tudo para seguir-te”.

29 J esus said, “For sure, I tell you, there are those who have given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands because of Me, and the Good News.

Respondeu Jesus: “Digo-lhes a verdade: Ninguém que tenha deixado casa, irmãos, irmãs, mãe, pai, filhos, ou campos, por causa de mim e do evangelho,

30 T hey will get back one hundred times as much now at this time in houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands. Along with this, they will have very much trouble. And they will have life that lasts forever in the world to come.

deixará de receber cem vezes mais, já no tempo presente, casas, irmãos, irmãs, mães, filhos e campos, e com eles perseguição; e, na era futura, a vida eterna.

31 M any who are first will be last. Many who are last will be first.” Jesus Tells of His Death the Third Time

Contudo, muitos primeiros serão últimos, e os últimos serão primeiros”. Jesus Prediz Novamente sua Morte e Ressurreição

32 T hey were on their way to Jerusalem. Jesus walked in front of them. Those who followed were surprised and afraid. Then Jesus took the twelve followers by themselves. He told them what would happen to Him.

Eles estavam subindo para Jerusalém, e Jesus ia à frente. Os discípulos estavam admirados, enquanto os que o seguiam estavam com medo. Novamente ele chamou à parte os Doze e lhes disse o que haveria de lhe acontecer:

33 H e said, “Listen, we are going to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be handed over to the religious leaders of the Jews and to the teachers of the Law. They will say that He must be put to death. They will hand Him over to the people who are not Jews.

“Estamos subindo para Jerusalém e o Filho do homem será entregue aos chefes dos sacerdotes e aos mestres da lei. Eles o condenarão à morte e o entregarão aos gentios,

34 T hey will make fun of Him and will beat Him. They will spit on Him and will kill Him. But three days later He will be raised from the dead.” James and John Ask Jesus Something Hard

35 J ames and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus. They said, “Teacher, we would like to have You do for us whatever we ask You.”

Nisso Tiago e João, filhos de Zebedeu, aproximaram-se dele e disseram: “Mestre, queremos que nos faças o que vamos te pedir”.

36 H e said to them, “What would you like to have Me do for you?”

“O que vocês querem que eu lhes faça?”, perguntou ele.

37 T hey said to Him, “Let one of us sit by Your right side and the other by Your left side when You receive Your great honor in heaven.”

Eles responderam: “Permite que, na tua glória, nos assentemos um à tua direita e o outro à tua esquerda”.

38 J esus said to them, “You do not know what you ask. Can you take the suffering I am about to take? Can you be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”

Disse-lhes Jesus: “Vocês não sabem o que estão pedindo. Podem vocês beber o cálice que eu estou bebendo ou ser batizados com o batismo com que estou sendo batizado?”

39 T hey said to Him, “Yes, we can.” Jesus said to them, “You will, for sure, suffer the way I will suffer. You will be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with.

“Podemos”, responderam eles. Jesus lhes disse: “Vocês beberão o cálice que estou bebendo e serão batizados com o batismo com que estou sendo batizado;

40 B ut to sit on My right side or on My left side is not for Me to give. It will be given to those for whom it has been made ready.”

mas o assentar-se à minha direita ou à minha esquerda não cabe a mim conceder. Esses lugares pertencem àqueles para quem foram preparados”.

41 T he other ten followers heard it. They were angry with James and John.

Quando os outros dez ouviram essas coisas, ficaram indignados com Tiago e João.

42 J esus called them to Him and said, “You know that those who are made leaders over the nations show their power to the people. Important leaders use their power over the people.

Jesus os chamou e disse: “Vocês sabem que aqueles que são considerados governantes das nações as dominam, e as pessoas importantes exercem poder sobre elas.

43 I t must not be that way with you. Whoever wants to be great among you, let him care for you.

Não será assim entre vocês. Ao contrário, quem quiser tornar-se importante entre vocês deverá ser servo;

44 W hoever wants to be first among you, must be the one who is owned and cares for all.

e quem quiser ser o primeiro deverá ser escravo de todos.

45 F or the Son of Man did not come to be cared for. He came to care for others. He came to give His life so that many could be bought by His blood and be made free from sin.” Healing of the Blind Man

46 T hen they came to the city of Jericho. When He was leaving the city with His followers and many people, a blind man was sitting by the road. He was asking people for food or money as they passed by. His name was Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus.

Então chegaram a Jericó. Quando Jesus e seus discípulos, juntamente com uma grande multidão, estavam saindo da cidade, o filho de Timeu, Bartimeu, que era cego, estava sentado à beira do caminho pedindo esmolas.

47 H e heard that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. He began to speak with a loud voice, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, take pity on me!”

Quando ouviu que era Jesus de Nazaré, começou a gritar: “Jesus, Filho de Davi, tem misericórdia de mim!”

48 M any people spoke sharp words to the blind man telling him not to call out like that. But he spoke all the more. He said, “Son of David, take pity on me.”

Muitos o repreendiam para que ficasse quieto, mas ele gritava ainda mais: “Filho de Davi, tem misericórdia de mim!”

49 J esus stopped and told them to call the blind man. They called to him and said, “Take hope! Stand up, He is calling for you!”

Jesus parou e disse: “Chamem-no”. E chamaram o cego: “Ânimo! Levante-se! Ele o está chamando”.

50 A s he jumped up, he threw off his coat and came to Jesus.

Lançando sua capa para o lado, de um salto pôs-se em pé e dirigiu-se a Jesus.

51 J esus said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Lord, I want to see!”

“O que você quer que eu lhe faça?”, perguntou-lhe Jesus. O cego respondeu: “Mestre, eu quero ver!”

52 J esus said, “Go! Your faith has healed you.” At once he could see and he followed Jesus down the road.

“Vá”, disse Jesus, “a sua fé o curou”. Imediatamente ele recuperou a visão e seguiu Jesus pelo caminho.
