1 O n the twelfth day of the tenth month in the tenth year, the Word of the Lord came to me saying,

No décimo segundo dia do décimo mês do décimo ano do exílio, esta palavra do Senhor veio a mim:

2 “ Son of man, look toward Pharaoh king of Egypt, and speak against him and against all Egypt.

“Filho do homem, vire o rosto contra o faraó, rei do Egito, e profetize contra ele e contra todo o Egito.

3 T ell them, ‘The Lord God says, “I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt. You are the big animal that lies in his rivers and says, ‘The Nile is mine. I made it.’

Diga-lhe: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: “Estou contra você, faraó, rei do Egito, contra você, grande monstro deitado em meio a seus riachos. Você diz: ‘O Nilo é meu; eu o fiz para mim mesmo’.

4 I will put hooks in your mouth. I will make the fish of your rivers stick to your hard skin. And I will pull you up out of your rivers, with the fish that stick to your hard skin.

Mas porei anzóis em seu queixo e farei os peixes dos seus regatos se apegarem às suas escamas, ó Egito. Puxarei você para fora dos seus riachos, com todos os peixes grudados em suas escamas.

5 T hen I will leave you in the desert, you and all the fish of your rivers. You will fall on the open field, and not be gathered or buried. I will feed you to the wild animals of the earth and to the birds of the sky.

Deixarei você no deserto, você e todos os peixes dos seus regatos. Você cairá em campo aberto e não será recolhido nem sepultado. Darei você como comida aos animais selvagens e às aves do céu.

6 T hen all the people of Egypt will know that I am the Lord. They have been only a weak piece of river grass to the people of Israel.

“Então todos os que vivem no Egito saberão que eu sou o Senhor. “Você tem sido um bordão de junco para a nação de Israel.

7 W hen they took hold of you with their hands, you broke and tore all their shoulders. When they rested on you, you broke and hurt their backs.”

Quando eles o pegaram com as mãos, você rachou e rasgou os ombros deles; quando eles se apoiaram em você, você se quebrou, e as costas deles sofreram torção.

8 S o the Lord God says, “I will bring a sword against you and kill your people and animals.

“Portanto, assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Trarei uma espada contra você e matarei os seus homens e os seus animais.

9 A nd the land of Egypt will be destroyed and laid waste. Then they will know that I am the Lord. “Because you said, ‘The Nile is mine, and I made it,’

O Egito se tornará um deserto arrasado. Então eles saberão que eu sou o Senhor. “Visto que você disse: ‘O Nilo é meu; eu o fiz’,

10 I am against you and against your rivers. I will destroy Egypt and make it nothing but waste from Migdol to Syene and even to the land of Ethiopia.

estou contra você e contra os seus regatos, e tornarei o Egito uma desgraça e um deserto arrasado desde Migdol até Sevene, chegando até a fronteira da Etiópia.

11 N o foot of man or animal will pass through it, and no one will live there for forty years.

Nenhum pé de homem ou pata de animal o atravessará; ninguém morará ali por quarenta anos.

12 I will make the land of Egypt a waste among the lands which are laid waste. Her cities will be a waste for forty years among cities that are laid waste. I will divide the Egyptians among the nations and spread them out among the lands.”

Farei a terra do Egito arrasada em meio a terras devastadas, e suas cidades estarão arrasadas durante quarenta anos entre cidades em ruínas. Espalharei os egípcios entre as nações e os dispersarei entre os povos.

13 ’ For the Lord God says, “At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the nations where they were divided.

“Contudo, assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Ao fim dos quarenta anos ajuntarei os egípcios dentre as nações nas quais foram espalhados.

14 I will bring them back to Egypt and let them live in Pathros, the land they came from. And there they will be a small nation.

Eu os trarei de volta do cativeiro e os farei voltar ao alto Egito, à terra dos seus antepassados. Ali serão um reino humilde.

15 I t will be the least of the nations, and will never lift itself up above other nations again. I will make them so small that they will never rule over the nations.

Será o mais humilde dos reinos, e nunca mais se exaltará sobre as outras nações. Eu o farei tão fraco que nunca mais dominará sobre as nações.

16 I t will never again be a hope for the people of Israel. They will remember their sin in turning to Egypt for help in the past. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.”’” King Nebuchadnezzar Will Take Egypt

O Egito não inspirará mais confiança a Israel, mas será uma lembrança de sua iniqüidade por procurá-lo em busca de ajuda. Então eles saberão que eu sou o Soberano, o Senhor ”.

17 O n the first day of the first month in the twenty-seventh year, the Word of the Lord came to me saying,

No primeiro dia do primeiro mês do vigésimo sétimo ano do exílio, esta palavra do Senhor veio a mim:

18 “ Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made his army work hard against Tyre. Every head lost its hair, and skin was rubbed off every shoulder. But he and his army did not receive anything from Tyre to pay for the work he had done against it.”

“Filho do homem, o rei Nabucodonosor, da Babilônia, conduziu o seu exército numa dura campanha contra Tiro; toda cabeça foi esfregada até não ficar cabelo algum e todo ombro ficou esfolado. Contudo, ele e o seu exército não obtiveram nenhuma recompensa com a campanha que ele conduziu contra Tiro.

19 S o the Lord God says, “I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. And he will carry away her riches. He will take all her good things, and they will be pay for his army.

Por isso, assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Vou dar o Egito ao rei Nabucodonosor, da Babilônia, e ele levará embora a riqueza dessa nação. Ele saqueará e despojará a terra como pagamento para o seu exército.

20 I have given him the land of Egypt for the work he has done, because he and his army worked for Me,” says the Lord God.

Eu lhe dei o Egito como recompensa por seus esforços, por aquilo que ele e o seu exército fizeram para mim. Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor.

21 “ On that day I will make the people of Israel strong, and give you the power to speak among them. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

“Naquele dia farei crescer o poder da nação de Israel, e abrirei a minha boca no meio deles. Então eles saberão que eu sou o Senhor ”.
