1 J esus said to His followers, “For sure, things will come that will make people sin. But it is bad for the person who makes someone else sin.

Jesus disse aos seus discípulos: “É inevitável que aconteçam coisas que levem o povo a tropeçar, mas ai da pessoa por meio de quem elas acontecem.

2 I t would be better for him to have a large rock put around his neck and be thrown into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.

Seria melhor que ela fosse lançada no mar com uma pedra de moinho amarrada no pescoço, do que levar um desses pequeninos a pecar.

3 “ Watch yourselves! If your brother sins, speak sharp words to him. If he is sorry and turns from his sin, forgive him.

5 T he followers said to the Lord, “Give us more faith.”

Os apóstolos disseram ao Senhor: “Aumenta a nossa fé!”

6 T he Lord said, “If your faith was as a mustard seed, you could say to this tree, ‘Be pulled out of the ground and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. Jesus Teaches about Being Faithful

Ele respondeu: “Se vocês tiverem fé do tamanho de uma semente de mostarda, poderão dizer a esta amoreira: ‘Arranque-se e plante-se no mar’, e ela lhes obedecerá.

7 “ What if you owned a servant who was working in the field or taking care of sheep? Would you say to him when he came in from his work, ‘Come and sit down to eat?’

“Qual de vocês que, tendo um servo que esteja arando ou cuidando das ovelhas, lhe dirá, quando ele chegar do campo: ‘Venha agora e sente-se para comer’?

8 N o, instead you would say, ‘Get my supper ready. Dress yourself and care for me until I am through eating and drinking. Then you can eat and drink.’

Ao contrário, não dirá: ‘Prepare o meu jantar, apronte-se e sirva-me enquanto como e bebo; depois disso você pode comer e beber’?

9 D oes the servant get thanks for doing what he was told to do? I am sure he does not.

Será que ele agradecerá ao servo por ter feito o que lhe foi ordenado?

10 I t is the same with you also. When you do everything you have been told to do, you must say, ‘We are not any special servants. We have done only what we should have done.’” Jesus Heals Ten Men with a Bad Skin Disease

11 J esus went on His way to Jerusalem. He was passing between the countries of Samaria and Galilee.

A caminho de Jerusalém, Jesus passou pela divisa entre Samaria e Galiléia.

12 A s He was going into one of the towns, ten men with a bad skin disease came to Him. They stood a little way off.

Ao entrar num povoado, dez leprosos dirigiram-se a ele. Ficaram a certa distância

13 T hey called to Him, “Jesus! Teacher! Take pity on us!”

e gritaram em alta voz: “Jesus, Mestre, tem piedade de nós!”

14 W hen Jesus saw them, He said, “Go and show yourselves to the religious leaders.” As they went, they were healed.

Ao vê-los, ele disse: “Vão mostrar-se aos sacerdotes”. Enquanto eles iam, foram purificados.

15 O ne of them turned back when he saw he was healed. He thanked God with a loud voice.

Um deles, quando viu que estava curado, voltou, louvando a Deus em alta voz.

16 H e got down on his face at the feet of Jesus and thanked Him. He was from the country of Samaria.

Prostrou-se aos pés de Jesus e lhe agradeceu. Este era samaritano.

17 J esus asked, “Were there not ten men who were healed? Where are the other nine?

Jesus perguntou: “Não foram purificados todos os dez? Onde estão os outros nove?

18 I s this stranger from another country the only one who turned back to give thanks to God?”

Não se achou nenhum que voltasse e desse louvor a Deus, a não ser este estrangeiro?”

19 T hen Jesus said to him, “Get up and go on your way. Your trust in God has healed you.” Jesus Teaches about the Holy Nation of God

20 T he proud religious law-keepers asked when the holy nation of God would come. Jesus said to them, “The holy nation of God is not coming in such a way that can be seen with the eyes.

22 J esus said to His followers, “The time will come when you will wish you could see the Son of Man for one day. But you will not be able to.

Depois disse aos seus discípulos: “Chegará o tempo em que vocês desejarão ver um dos dias do Filho do homem, mas não verão.

23 T hey will say to you, ‘He is here,’ or, ‘He is there,’ but do not follow them.

Dirão a vocês: ‘Lá está ele!’ ou ‘Aqui está!’ Não se apressem em segui-los.

24 W hen the Son of Man comes, He will be as lightning that shines from one part of the sky to the other.

Pois o Filho do homem no seu dia será como o relâmpago cujo brilho vai de uma extremidade à outra do céu.

25 B ut before that, He must suffer many hard things. The people of this day will have nothing to do with Him.

Mas antes é necessário que ele sofra muito e seja rejeitado por esta geração.

26 “ As it was in the time of Noah, so will it be when the Son of Man comes back.

“Assim como foi nos dias de Noé, também será nos dias do Filho do homem.

27 P eople ate and drank. They married and were given in marriage. They did these things until the day Noah went into the large boat. Then the flood came and killed all the people on earth.

O povo vivia comendo, bebendo, casando-se e sendo dado em casamento, até o dia em que Noé entrou na arca. Então veio o Dilúvio e os destruiu a todos.

28 I t was the same in the time of Lot. People ate and drank. They bought and sold. They planted and built.

“Aconteceu a mesma coisa nos dias de Ló. O povo estava comendo e bebendo, comprando e vendendo, plantando e construindo.

29 B ut the day Lot left the city of Sodom, fire and sulphur came down from heaven like rain. It killed all the people of Sodom.

Mas no dia em que Ló saiu de Sodoma, choveu fogo e enxofre do céu e os destruiu a todos.

30 “ It will be the same on the day when the Son of Man comes again.

“Acontecerá exatamente assim no dia em que o Filho do homem for revelado.

31 I n that day the man who is on top of a house should not come down to take his things out of the house. In the same way, the man who is in the field should not go back to his house.

Naquele dia, quem estiver no telhado de sua casa, não deve descer para apanhar os seus bens dentro de casa. Semelhantemente, quem estiver no campo, não deve voltar atrás por coisa alguma.

32 R emember Lot’s wife!

Lembrem-se da mulher de Ló!

33 “ He who wants to keep his life will have it taken away from him. He who loses his life will have it given back to him.

Quem tentar conservar a sua vida a perderá, e quem perder a sua vida a preservará.

34 I tell you, on that night there will be two men in the same bed. One of them will be taken. The other will be left.

Eu lhes digo: Naquela noite duas pessoas estarão numa cama; uma será tirada e a outra deixada.

35 T wo women will be grinding grain together. One of them will be taken. The other will be left.

Duas mulheres estarão moendo trigo juntas; uma será tirada e a outra deixada.

36 T wo men will be working in a field. One will be taken. The other will be left.”

Duas pessoas estarão no campo; uma será tirada e a outra deixada ”.

37 T hen they asked Jesus, “Where will this happen?” He said to them, “Birds also gather where there is a dead body.”

“Onde, Senhor?”, perguntaram eles. Ele respondeu: “Onde houver um cadáver, ali se ajuntarão os abutres”.
