1 J esus said to His followers, “For sure, things will come that will make people sin. But it is bad for the person who makes someone else sin.

І сказав Він до учнів Своїх: Неможливо, щоб спокуси не мали прийти; але горе тому, через кого приходять вони!

2 I t would be better for him to have a large rock put around his neck and be thrown into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.

Краще б такому було, коли б жорно млинове на шию йому почепити та й кинути в море, аніж щоб спокусив він одного з малих цих!

3 “ Watch yourselves! If your brother sins, speak sharp words to him. If he is sorry and turns from his sin, forgive him.

Уважайте на себе! Коли провиниться твій брат, докори йому, а коли він покається, то вибач йому.

4 W hat if he sins against you seven times in one day? If he comes to you and says he is sorry and turns from his sin, forgive him.”

І хоча б сім раз денно він провинивсь проти тебе, і сім раз звернувся до тебе, говорячи: Каюся, вибач йому!

5 T he followers said to the Lord, “Give us more faith.”

І сказали апостоли Господу: Додай Ти нам віри!

6 T he Lord said, “If your faith was as a mustard seed, you could say to this tree, ‘Be pulled out of the ground and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. Jesus Teaches about Being Faithful

А Господь відказав: Коли б мали ви віру, хоч як зерно гірчичне, і сказали шовковиці цій: Вирвися з коренем і посадися до моря, то й послухала б вас!

7 “ What if you owned a servant who was working in the field or taking care of sheep? Would you say to him when he came in from his work, ‘Come and sit down to eat?’

Хто ж із вас, мавши раба, що оре чи пасе, скаже йому, як він вернеться з поля: Негайно йди та сідай до столу?

8 N o, instead you would say, ‘Get my supper ready. Dress yourself and care for me until I am through eating and drinking. Then you can eat and drink.’

Але чи ж не скаже йому: Приготуй що вечеряти, і підпережись, і мені прислуговуй, аж поки я їстиму й питиму, а потому ти сам будеш їсти та пити?

9 D oes the servant get thanks for doing what he was told to do? I am sure he does not.

Чи ж він дякує тому рабові, що наказане виконав?

10 I t is the same with you also. When you do everything you have been told to do, you must say, ‘We are not any special servants. We have done only what we should have done.’” Jesus Heals Ten Men with a Bad Skin Disease

Так і ви, коли зробите все вам наказане, то кажіть: Ми нікчемні раби, бо зробили лиш те, що повинні зробити були!

11 J esus went on His way to Jerusalem. He was passing between the countries of Samaria and Galilee.

І сталось, коли Він ішов до Єрусалиму, то проходив поміж Самарією та Галілеєю.

12 A s He was going into one of the towns, ten men with a bad skin disease came to Him. They stood a little way off.

І, коли входив до одного села, перестріли Його десять мужів, слабих на проказу, що стали здалека.

13 T hey called to Him, “Jesus! Teacher! Take pity on us!”

І голос піднесли вони та й казали: Ісусе, Наставнику, змилуйсь над нами!

14 W hen Jesus saw them, He said, “Go and show yourselves to the religious leaders.” As they went, they were healed.

І, побачивши їх, Він промовив до них: Підіть і покажіться священикам! І сталось, коли вони йшли, то очистились...

15 O ne of them turned back when he saw he was healed. He thanked God with a loud voice.

Один же з них, як побачив, що видужав, то вернувся, і почав гучним голосом славити Бога.

16 H e got down on his face at the feet of Jesus and thanked Him. He was from the country of Samaria.

І припав він обличчям до ніг Його, складаючи дяку Йому. А то самарянин був...

17 J esus asked, “Were there not ten men who were healed? Where are the other nine?

Ісус же промовив у відповідь: Чи не десять очистилось, а дев'ять же де?

18 I s this stranger from another country the only one who turned back to give thanks to God?”

Чому не вернулись вони хвалу Богові віддати, крім цього чужинця?

19 T hen Jesus said to him, “Get up and go on your way. Your trust in God has healed you.” Jesus Teaches about the Holy Nation of God

І сказав Він йому: Підведися й іди: твоя віра спасла тебе!

20 T he proud religious law-keepers asked when the holy nation of God would come. Jesus said to them, “The holy nation of God is not coming in such a way that can be seen with the eyes.

А як фарисеї спитали Його, коли Царство Божеє прийде, то Він їм відповів і сказав: Царство Боже не прийде помітно,

21 I t will not be said, ‘See, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For the holy nation of God is in you.” Jesus Tells of His Second Coming

і не скажуть: Ось тут, або: Там. Бо Божеє Царство всередині вас!

22 J esus said to His followers, “The time will come when you will wish you could see the Son of Man for one day. But you will not be able to.

І сказав Він до учнів: Прийдуть дні, коли побажаєте бачити один з днів Сина Людського, та не побачите...

23 T hey will say to you, ‘He is here,’ or, ‘He is there,’ but do not follow them.

І скажуть до вас: Ось тут, чи: Ось там, не йдіть, і за ним не біжіть!

24 W hen the Son of Man comes, He will be as lightning that shines from one part of the sky to the other.

Бо як блискавка, блиснувши, світить із одного краю під небом до другого краю під небом, так буде Свого дня й Син Людський.

25 B ut before that, He must suffer many hard things. The people of this day will have nothing to do with Him.

А перше належить багато страждати Йому, і відцурається рід цей від Нього...

26 “ As it was in the time of Noah, so will it be when the Son of Man comes back.

І, як було за днів Ноєвих, то буде так само й за днів Сина Людського:

27 P eople ate and drank. They married and were given in marriage. They did these things until the day Noah went into the large boat. Then the flood came and killed all the people on earth.

їли, пили, женилися, заміж виходили, аж до того дня, коли Ной увійшов до ковчегу; прийшов же потоп, і всіх вигубив.

28 I t was the same in the time of Lot. People ate and drank. They bought and sold. They planted and built.

Так само, як було за днів Лотових: їли, пили, купували, продавали, садили, будували;

29 B ut the day Lot left the city of Sodom, fire and sulphur came down from heaven like rain. It killed all the people of Sodom.

того ж дня, як Лот вийшов із Содому, огонь із сіркою з неба линув, і всіх погубив.

30 “ It will be the same on the day when the Son of Man comes again.

Так буде й того дня, як Син Людський з'явиться!

31 I n that day the man who is on top of a house should not come down to take his things out of the house. In the same way, the man who is in the field should not go back to his house.

Хто буде того дня на домі, а речі його будуть у домі, нехай їх забрати не злазить. Хто ж на полі, так само нехай назад не вертається,

32 R emember Lot’s wife!

пам'ятайте про Лотову дружину!

33 “ He who wants to keep his life will have it taken away from him. He who loses his life will have it given back to him.

Хто дбатиме зберегти свою душу, той погубить її, а коли хто погубить, той оживить її.

34 I tell you, on that night there will be two men in the same bed. One of them will be taken. The other will be left.

Кажу вам: удвох будуть ночі тієї на одному ліжкові: один візьметься, а другий полишиться.

35 T wo women will be grinding grain together. One of them will be taken. The other will be left.

Дві молотимуть разом, одна візьметься, а друга полишиться.

36 T wo men will be working in a field. One will be taken. The other will be left.”

Двоє будуть на полі, один візьметься, а другий полишиться!

37 T hen they asked Jesus, “Where will this happen?” He said to them, “Birds also gather where there is a dead body.”

І казали вони Йому в відповідь: Де, Господи? А Він відказав їм: Де труп, там зберуться й орли...
