1 G od made good come to Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Have many children, and cover the earth.

І поблагословив Бог Ноя й синів його, та й промовив: Плодіться й розмножуйтеся, та наповнюйте землю!

2 E very animal of the earth, every bird of the sky, everything that moves on the ground, and all the fish of the sea will be afraid of you. They are given into your hand.

І ляк перед вами, і страх перед вами буде між усією звіриною землі, і між усім птаством небесним, між усім, чим роїться земля, і між усіма рибами моря. У ваші руки віддані вони.

3 E very moving thing that lives will be food for you. I give all to you as I gave you the green plants.

Усе, що плазує, що живе воно, буде вам на їжу. Як зелену ярину Я віддав вам усе.

4 B ut you must not eat meat with blood in it because that is its life.

Тільки м'яса з душею його, цебто з кров'ю його, не будете ви споживати.

5 F or sure, I will take the life of every animal and every person for taking a life. I will punish every man’s brother for taking the life of man.

А тільки Я буду жадати вашу кров із душ ваших, з руки кожної звірини буду жадати її, і з руки чоловіка, з руки кожного брата його Я буду жадати душу людську.

6 W hoever takes the life of a man will have his life taken. For God made man to be like Him.

Хто виллє кров людську з людини, то виллята буде його кров, бо Він учинив людину за образом Божим.

7 A s for you, have many children. Cover the earth with many people.”

Ви ж плодіться й розмножуйтеся, роїться на землі та розмножуйтесь на ній!

8 T hen God said to Noah and his sons,

І сказав Бог до Ноя та до синів його з ним, кажучи:

9 “ See, I make My agreement with you, and with your children after you,

А Я, ось Свого заповіта укладаю Я з вами та з вашим потомством по вас.

10 a nd with every living thing that is with you, the birds, the cattle, and every animal of the earth, of all that came out of the large boat, every living thing on earth.

І з кожною живою душею, що з вами: серед птаства, серед худоби, і серед усієї земної звірини з вами, від усіх, що виходять з ковчегу, до всієї земної звірини.

11 I make My agreement with you, that never again will all flesh be destroyed by the water of a flood. There will never again be a flood to destroy the earth.”

І Я укладу заповіта Свого з вами, і жодне тіло не буде вже знищене водою потопу, і більш не буде потопу, щоб землю нищити.

12 T hen God said, “This is something special to see for all time, because of the agreement that I am making between Me and you and every living thing that is with you:

І Бог промовляв: Оце знак заповіту, що даю Я його поміж Мною та вами, і поміж кожною живою душею, що з вами, на вічні покоління:

13 I will set My rain-bow in the cloud, and it will be something special to see because of an agreement between Me and the earth.

Я веселку Свою дав у хмарі, і стане вона за знака заповіту між Мною та між землею.

14 W hen I bring clouds over the earth and the rain-bow is seen in the clouds,

І станеться, коли над землею Я хмару захмарю, то буде виднітися в хмарі веселка.

15 I will remember My agreement that is between Me and you and every living thing of all flesh. Never again will the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.

І згадаю про Свого заповіта, що між Мною й між вами, і між кожною живою душею в кожному тілі. І більш не буде вода для потопу, щоб вигубляти кожне тіло.

16 W hen the rain-bow is in the cloud, I will look upon it to remember the agreement that will last forever between God and every living thing of all flesh that is on the earth.”

І буде веселка у хмарі, і побачу її, щоб пам'ятати про вічний заповіт між Богом і між кожною живою душею в кожному тілі, що воно на землі.

17 G od said to Noah, “This is the special thing to see because of the agreement I have made between Me and all flesh upon the earth.” Noah and His Sons

І сказав Бог до Ноя: Це знак заповіту, що Я встановив поміж Мною й поміж кожним тілом, що воно на землі.

18 T he sons of Noah who came out of the large boat were Shem, Ham and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan.

І були сини Ноєві, що вийшли з ковчегу: Сим, і Хам, і Яфет. А Хам він був батько Ханаанів.

19 T hese three were the sons of Noah. And all the people of the earth came from them.

Оці троє були сини Ноєві, і від них залюднилася вся земля.

20 T hen Noah became a farmer and planted a grape-field.

І зачав був Ной, муж землі, садити виноград.

21 A nd he drank of the wine, and drank too much, and lay without covering himself in his tent.

І пив він вино та й упився, й обнажився в середині свого намету.

22 T hen Ham, the father of Canaan, saw that his father was without clothes. And he told his two brothers outside.

І побачив Хам, батько Ханаанів, наготу батька свого, та й розказав обом браттям своїм надворі.

23 B ut Shem and Japheth took a coat and laid it upon their shoulders and walked in with their backs toward their father and covered him. Their faces were turned away, so that they did not see their father without clothes.

Узяли тоді Сим та Яфет одежину, і поклали обидва на плечі свої, і позадкували, та й прикрили наготу батька свого. Вони відвернули дозаду обличчя свої, і не бачили наготи батька свого.

24 W hen Noah awoke from his wine, he knew what his youngest son had done to him.

А Ной витверезився від свого вина, і довідався, що йому був учинив його син наймолодший.

25 S o he said, “May Canaan be cursed! He will be a servant of servants to his brothers.”

І сказав він: Проклятий будь Ханаан, він буде рабом рабів своїм браттям!

26 H e also said, “Honor and thanks be to the Lord, the God of Shem. Let Canaan be his servant.

І сказав він: Благословенний Господь, Симів Бог, і хай Ханаан рабом буде йому!

27 M ay God make Japheth great. Let him live in the tents of Shem. And let Canaan be his servants.”

Нехай Бог розпросторить Яфета, і нехай пробуває в наметах він Симових, і нехай Ханаан рабом буде йому!

28 N oah lived 350 years after the flood.

А Ной жив по потопі триста літ і п'ятдесят літ.

29 S o Noah lived 950 years, and he died.

А всіх Ноєвих днів було дев'ятсот літ і п'ятдесят літ. Та й помер.
