1 T he fifth angel blew his horn. I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to earth. The key to the hole without a bottom was given to the angel.

І засурмив п'ятий Ангол, і я бачив зорю, що спала із неба додолу. І їй даний був ключ від криниці безодньої.

2 H e opened the hole and smoke came out like the smoke from a place where there is much fire. The sun and the air became dark because of the smoke from the hole.

І вона відімкнула криницю безодню, і дим повалив із криниці, мов дим із великої печі. І затьмилося сонце й повітря від криничного диму...

3 L ocusts came down to the earth out of the smoke. They were given power to hurt like small animals that sting.

А з диму на землю вийшла сарана, і дано їй міць, як мають міць скорпіони земні.

4 T hey were told not to hurt the grass or any green plant or any tree. They were to hurt only the men who did not have the mark of God on their foreheads.

І наказано їй, щоб вона не шкодила земній траві, ані жадному зіллю, ані жадному дереву, але тільки тим людям, які на чолах не мають печатки Божої.

5 T he locusts were not allowed to kill these men. They were to give them much pain for five months like the pain that comes from a small animal that stings.

І було дано їй, щоб їх не вбивати, але мучити п'ять місяців; а мука від неї, як мука від скорпіона, коли вкусить людину.

6 M en will look for ways to die during those days, but they will not find any way. They will want to die, but death will be kept from them.

І в ті дні люди смерти шукатимуть, та не знайдуть її! Померти вони захотять, та втече від них смерть!...

7 T he locusts looked like horses ready for war. They had on their heads what looked like crowns of gold. Their faces were like men’s faces.

А вигляд сарани був подібний до коней, на війну приготованих; а на головах у неї немов би вінки, подібні на золото, а обличчя її немов людські обличчя.

8 T heir hair was like the hair of women. Their teeth were like the teeth of lions.

І мала волосся як волосся жіноче, а її зуби були немов лев'ячі.

9 T heir chests were covered with what looked like pieces of iron. The sound their wings made was like the sound of many wagons rushing to war.

І мала вона панцери, немов панцери залізні; а шум її крил немов шум колесниць, коли коней багато біжить на війну.

10 T hey had tails like a small animal that stings. The sting came from their tails. They were given power to hurt men for five months.

І мала хвости, подібні до скорпіонових, та жала, а в неї в хвостах її влада п'ять місяців шкодити людям.

11 T hese locusts have a king over them. He is the head angel of the hole that has no bottom. His name in the Hebrew language is Abbadon. In the Greek language it is Apollyon. (It means the one who destroys.)

І мала вона над собою царя, ангола безодні; йому по-єврейському ім'я Аваддон, а по-грецькому звався він Аполліон!

12 T he first time of trouble is past. But see, there are two more times of trouble coming after this. The Sixth Horn—the Angels That Kill

Одне горе минуло! Ось за ним ще два горя надходять!

13 T he sixth angel blew his horn. I heard a voice coming from the four corners of the altar made of gold that is before God.

І засурмив шостий Ангол, і я почув один голос із чотирьох рогів золотого жертівника, який перед Богом,

14 T he voice said to the sixth angel who had the horn, “Let the four angels loose that have been chained at the big river Euphrates.”

що казав шостому Анголові, який мав сурму: Розв'яжи чотирьох Анголів, що пов'язані при великій річці Ефраті.

15 T hey had been kept ready for that hour and day and month and year. They were let loose so they could kill one-third part of all men that were living.

І були порозв'язувані чотири Анголи, приготовані на годину, і на день, і на місяць, і на рік, щоб убили третину людей.

16 T he army had 200 million soldiers on horses. I heard them say how many there were.

А число кінного війська двадцять тисяч раз по десять тисяч; і я чув їхнє число.

17 I saw, as God wanted to show me, the horses and the men on them. The men had pieces of iron over their chests. These were red like fire and blue like the sky and yellow like sulphur. The heads of the horses looked like the heads of lions. Fire and smoke and sulphur came out of their mouths.

І так бачив я коней в видінні, а на них верхівців, що панцери мали огняні, і гіяцинтові, і сірчані. А голови в коней немов голови лев'ячі, а з їхнього рота виходив огонь, і дим, і сірка.

18 O ne-third part of all men was killed by the fire and smoke and sulphur that came out of their mouths.

І побита була третина людей від цих трьох поразок, від огню, і від диму, і від сірки, що виходили з їхніх ротів.

19 T he power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails. Their tails were like the heads of snakes and with them they could bite and kill.

Сила бо коней була в їхнім роті та в їхніх хвостах. А хвости їхні подібні до вужів, що мають голови, і ними вони шкоду чинять.

20 T he men that were still living after these troubles were past would not turn away from worshiping demons. They would not turn away from false gods made from gold and silver and brass and stone and wood. None of these false gods can see or hear or walk.

А решта людей, що не вбита була цими поразками, не покаялася за діла своїх рук, щоб не кланятись демонам, ані ідолам золотим, і срібним, і мідяним, і кам'яним, і дерев'яним, що не можуть вони ані бачити, ані чути, ані ходити.

21 T hese men were not sorry for their sins and would not turn away from all their killing and their witchcraft. They would not stop their sex sins and their stealing.

І вони не покаялися в своїх убивствах, ані в чарах своїх, ні в розпусті своїй, ні в крадіжках своїх...
