1 T hen Moses and the leaders of Israel said to the people, “Keep all the Laws which I tell you today.

І наказав Мойсей та Ізраїлеві старші народові, говорячи: Додержуйте всіх заповідей, що я сьогодні наказую вам!

2 O n the day you cross the Jordan to the land the Lord your God gives you, set up large stones and cover them with plaster.

І станеться того дня, коли ви перейдете Йордан до того Краю, що дає тобі Господь, Бог твій, то поставиш собі велике каміння, і повапниш їх вапном.

3 W rite on them all the words of this Law when you cross the river and go into the land the Lord your God gives you. It is a land flowing with milk and honey, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, promised you.

І понаписуєш на них усі слова цього Закону, коли перейдеш, щоб увійшов ти до того Краю, що Господь, Бог твій, дає тобі, Край, що тече молоком та медом, як промовляв був Господь, Бог батьків твоїх, до тебе.

4 W hen you cross the Jordan, set up these stones on Mount Ebal and cover them with plaster, as I tell you today.

І станеться, коли ви перейдете Йордан, поставите те каміння, що я наказую вам сьогодні, на горі Евал, і повапните їх вапном.

5 B uild an altar of stones there to the Lord your God. Do not work on them with an iron tool.

І збудуєш там жертівника для Господа, Бога свого, жертівника з каміння, не піднесеш над ними заліза.

6 A nd build the altar of the Lord your God with stones that are not cut. Then give a burnt gift on it to the Lord your God.

З нетесаного каміння збудуєш жертівника Господа, Бога свого, і принесеш на ньому цілопалення Господеві, Богові своєму.

7 G ive peace gifts and eat there. And be full of joy before the Lord your God.

І принесеш на жертву мирні жертви, і будеш там їсти, і будеш тішитися перед лицем Господа, Бога свого.

8 W rite all the words of this Law on the stones. Make it easy to read.” What Happens to Those Who Do Not Obey

І напишеш на тих каміннях усі слова цього Закону дуже виразно.

9 T hen Moses and the Levite religious leaders said to all Israel, “Be quiet and listen, O Israel! This day you have become the people of the Lord your God.

І промовляв Мойсей та всі священики-Левити, до всього Ізраїля, говорячи: Уважай та слухай, Ізраїлю, ти цього дня став народом Господа, Бога свого.

10 S o obey the Lord your God. Keep all of His Laws which I tell you today.”

І будеш ти слухатися Господа, Бога свого, і будеш виконувати заповіді Його та постанови Його, що я наказую тобі сьогодні.

11 M oses told the people that same day,

І наказав Мойсей того дня народові, говорячи:

12 “ Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin will stand on Mount Gerizim when you cross the Jordan. They will pray that good will come to the people.

Оці стануть на горі Ґарізім, щоб благословляти народ, коли ви перейдете Йордан: Симеон, і Левій, і Юда, і Іссахар, і Йосип, і Веніямин.

13 A nd Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali will stand on Mount Ebal to tell of the curses.

А оці стануть для клятви на горі Евал: Рувим, Ґад, і Асир, і Завулон, Дан і Нефталим.

14 T he Levites will say with a loud voice to all the people of Israel:

І відповідять Левити, і скажуть до всіх Ізраїлевих мужів сильним голосом:

15 ‘ Cursed is every man who makes a god or something to look like a god, the work of the hands of the able workman, and sets it up in secret. It is hated by the Lord.’ Then all the people will answer, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклята людина, що зробить боввана різаного або литого, гидоту для Господа, чин різьбарських рук, і поставить таємно! І відповість увесь народ, та й скаже: амінь!

16 ‘ Cursed is the one who puts his father or mother to shame.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклятий той, хто легковажить свого батька та свою матір! А ввесь народ скаже: амінь!

17 ‘ Cursed is the man who moves his neighbor’s land-mark.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклятий, хто пересуває межу свого ближнього!

18 ‘ Cursed is the one who leads a blind person on the road the wrong way.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклятий, хто робить блудячим сліпого в дорозі! А ввесь народ скаже: амінь!

19 ‘ Cursed is the one who is not fair to a stranger, a child whose parents have died, and the woman whose husband has died.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклятий, хто перекручує право приходька, сироти та вдови! А ввесь народ скаже: амінь!

20 ‘ Cursed is the man who lies with his father’s wife because he has taken off the clothes of her who belongs to his father.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклятий, хто лягає з жінкою батька свого, бо відкрив він подолка одежі свого батька! А ввесь народ скаже: амінь!

21 ‘ Cursed is the man who lies with any animal.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклятий, хто лягає з усяким скотом! А ввесь народ скаже: амінь!

22 ‘ Cursed is the man who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father or mother.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклятий, хто лягає з сестрою своєю, дочкою свого батька або з дочкою своєї матері! А ввесь народ скаже: амінь!

23 ‘ Cursed is the man who lies with his mother-in-law.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклятий, хто лягає з тещею своєю! А ввесь народ скаже: амінь!

24 ‘ Cursed is the one who hits his neighbor in secret.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклятий, хто вбиває свого ближнього потаємно! А ввесь народ скаже: амінь!

25 ‘ Cursed is the one who receives pay to kill a person who is not guilty.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклятий, хто бере підкупа, щоб забити кого, пролляти кров неповинну! А ввесь народ скаже: амінь!

26 ‘ Cursed is the one who does not obey the words of this Law.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

Проклятий, хто не дотримає слів цього Закону, щоб виконувати їх! А ввесь народ скаже: амінь!
