1 T hen Moses and the leaders of Israel said to the people, “Keep all the Laws which I tell you today.

وَأوصَى مُوسَى وَالشُّيُوخُ الشَّعبَ وَقالُوا لَهُمْ: «احفَظُوا جَمِيعَ الوَصايا الَّتِي أُوصِيكُمْ بِها اليَومَ.

2 O n the day you cross the Jordan to the land the Lord your God gives you, set up large stones and cover them with plaster.

فَعِندَما تَعبُرُونَ نَهْرَ الأُردُنِّ إلَى الأرْضِ الَّتِي يُعطِيها إلَهُكُمْ لَكُمْ، انْصُبوا حِجارَةً عَظِيمَةً وَغَطُّوها بِالكِلْسِ.

3 W rite on them all the words of this Law when you cross the river and go into the land the Lord your God gives you. It is a land flowing with milk and honey, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, promised you.

وَانْقُشُوا عَلَيها كُلَّ كَلامِ هَذِهِ الشَّرِيعَةِ فَورَ عُبُورِكُمْ نَهْرَ الأُردُنِّ، لِتَدخُلُوا الأرْضَ الَّتِي يُعطِيها إلَهُكُمْ لَكُمْ. الأرْضَ الَّتِي تَفِيضُ لَبَناً وَعَسَلاً، كَما وَعَدَكُمُ اللهُ ، إلَهُ آبائِكُمْ.

4 W hen you cross the Jordan, set up these stones on Mount Ebal and cover them with plaster, as I tell you today.

«فَحِينَ تَعبُرُونَ نَهرَ الأُردُنِّ، انْصُبُوا الحِجارَةَ الَّتِي أُوصِيكُمُ اليَوْمَ بِأنْ تَنصِبُوها، عَلَى جَبَلِ عِيبالَ، وَغَطُّوها بِالكِلسِ.

5 B uild an altar of stones there to the Lord your God. Do not work on them with an iron tool.

وَابْنُوا لإلَهِكُمْ مَذبَحاً مِنْ حِجارَةٍ دُونَ استِخدامِ أيَّةِ أداةٍ حَدِيدِيَّةٍ.

6 A nd build the altar of the Lord your God with stones that are not cut. Then give a burnt gift on it to the Lord your God.

ابْنُوا المَذْبَحَ مِنْ حِجارَةٍ كامِلَةٍ غَيرِ مَقطُوعَةٍ، وَقَدِّمُوا عَلَيهِ تَقدِماتٍ لإلَهِكُمْ.

7 G ive peace gifts and eat there. And be full of joy before the Lord your God.

فَتَذْبَحُونَ وَتَأكُلُونَ ذَبائِحَ سَلامٍ، وَتَفرَحُونَ فِي حَضْرَةِ إلَهِكُمْ.

8 W rite all the words of this Law on the stones. Make it easy to read.” What Happens to Those Who Do Not Obey

وَانْقُشُوا عَلَى هَذِهِ الحِجارَةِ كَلامَ هَذِهِ الشَّرِيعَةِ بِشَكلٍ وَاضِحٍ وَمَفهُومٍ.» لَعْناتُ الشَّرِيعَة

9 T hen Moses and the Levite religious leaders said to all Israel, “Be quiet and listen, O Israel! This day you have become the people of the Lord your God.

ثُمَّ قالَ مُوسَى وَالكَهَنَةُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ لِكُلِّ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ: «أصْغُوا يا بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ وَاستَمِعُوا! قَدْ صِرتُمُ اليَومَ شَعباً لإلَهِكُمْ.

10 S o obey the Lord your God. Keep all of His Laws which I tell you today.”

فَأطِيعُوا إلَهَكُمْ ، وَاعْمَلُوا بِكُلِّ وَصاياهُ وَشَرائِعَهُ الَّتِي أُوصِيكُمْ بِها اليَومَ.»

11 M oses told the people that same day,

وَأوصَى مُوسَى الشَّعبَ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ أيضاً وَقالَ:

12 “ Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin will stand on Mount Gerizim when you cross the Jordan. They will pray that good will come to the people.

«هَذِهِ هِيَ القَبائِلُ الَّتِي سَتَقِفُ عَلَى جَبَلِ جِرِزِّيمَ لِتُبارِكَ الشَّعبَ حِينَ تَعبُرُونَ نَهرَ الأُردُنِّ: شَمعُونُ وَلاوِي وَيَهُوذا وَيَسّاكَرُ وَيُوسُفُ وَبَنْيامِيْنُ.

13 A nd Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali will stand on Mount Ebal to tell of the curses.

وَهَذِهِ هِيَ القَبائِلُ الَّتِي سَتَقِفُ عَلَى جَبَلِ عِيبالَ لِتُعلِنَ الَّلَعنَةَ: رَأُوبَيْنُ وَجادُ وَأشِيرُ وَزَبُولُونُ وَدانُ نَفتالِي.

14 T he Levites will say with a loud voice to all the people of Israel:

«وَسَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ لِبَنِي إسْرائِيلَ بِصَوتٍ مُرتَفِعٍ:

15 ‘ Cursed is every man who makes a god or something to look like a god, the work of the hands of the able workman, and sets it up in secret. It is hated by the Lord.’ Then all the people will answer, ‘Let it be so.’

«‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ يَأخُذُ تِمثالاً مَنحُوتاً أوْ مَعدَنِيّاً صَنَعَهُ إنسانٌ، وَيَضَعُهُ فِي مَكانٍ مَخفِيٍّ لِيَعبُدَهُ، لِأنَّ ذَلِكَ مَمقُوتٌ لَدَى اللهِ ، فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمِين.›

16 ‘ Cursed is the one who puts his father or mother to shame.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

«وَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ: ‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ لا يُكرِمُ أباهُ أوْ أُمَّهُ.› فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمِين.›

17 ‘ Cursed is the man who moves his neighbor’s land-mark.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

«وَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ: ‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ يُحَرِّكُ عَلاماتِ حُدُودِ أرْضِ جارِهِ.› فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمِين.›

18 ‘ Cursed is the one who leads a blind person on the road the wrong way.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

«وَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ: ‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ يُضِلُّ أعمَى فِي الطَّرِيقِ.› فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمين.›

19 ‘ Cursed is the one who is not fair to a stranger, a child whose parents have died, and the woman whose husband has died.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

«وَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ: ‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ يَحكُمُ بِغَيرِ عَدلٍ بِحَقِّ الغَرِيبِ وَاليَتِيمِ وَالأرمَلَةِ.› فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمِين.›

20 ‘ Cursed is the man who lies with his father’s wife because he has taken off the clothes of her who belongs to his father.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

«وَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ: ‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ يُعاشِرُ زَوجَةَ أبِيهِ، لِأنَّهُ يُهِينُ أباهُ.› فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمِين.›

21 ‘ Cursed is the man who lies with any animal.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

«وَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ: ‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ يُعاشِرُ حَيواناً.› فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمِين.›

22 ‘ Cursed is the man who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father or mother.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

«وَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ: ‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ يُعاشِرُ أُخْتَهُ الشَّقِيقَةَ أوْ أُخْتَهُ مِنْ أُمِّهِ أوْ أبِيهِ.› فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمين.›

23 ‘ Cursed is the man who lies with his mother-in-law.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

«وَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ: ‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ يُعاشِرُ حَماتَهُ.› فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمين.›

24 ‘ Cursed is the one who hits his neighbor in secret.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

«وَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ: ‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ يُهاجِمُ أحَداً فِي الخَفاءِ.› فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمين.›

25 ‘ Cursed is the one who receives pay to kill a person who is not guilty.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

«وَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ: ‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ يَأخُذُ رِشوَةً لِقَتلِ إنسانٍ بَرِيءٍ.› فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمين.›

26 ‘ Cursed is the one who does not obey the words of this Law.’ And all the people will say, ‘Let it be so.’

«وَيَقُولُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ: ‹مَلعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ لا يَحفَظُ كَلامَ هَذِهِ الشَّرِيعَةِ وَيُطِيعُها.› فَيَقُولُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ: ‹آمِين.›»
