1 O God, the nations have come into the land of Your people. They have made Your holy house dirty. They have crushed the walls and buildings of Jerusalem.

جاءَتْ شُعُوبٌ يا اللهُ لِتُقاتِلَ شَعبَكَ، وَدَنَّسُوا هَيكَلَكَ المُقَدَّسَ، وَأحالُوا القُدسَ كَومَةً مِنَ الخَرابِ.

2 T hey have given the dead bodies of Your servants to the birds of the heavens for food. The flesh of those who belong to You has been given to the wild animals of the earth.

تَرَكُوا جُثَثَ خُدّامِكَ لِتَأكُلَها الطُّيُورُ الكاسِرَةُ. وَتَرَكُوا لَحمَ أتقِيائِكَ لِلوُحُوشِ المُفتَرِسَةِ.

3 T hey have poured out their blood like water all around Jerusalem. And there was no one to bury them.

أراقُوا دَمَ شَعبِكَ حَولَ القُدسِ دُونَ أنْ يَدفِنُوا مِنهُمْ أحَداً.

4 W e have become a shame to our neighbors. Those around us laugh at and make fun of us.

صِرنا مَنبُوذِينَ مِنْ جِيرانِنا، وَأُضحُوكَةً لِمَنْ هُمْ حَولَنا.

5 H ow long, O Lord? Will You be angry forever? Will Your jealousy burn like fire?

حَتَّى مَتَى تَظَلُّ غاضِباً عَلَينا يا اللهُ ؟ هَلْ سَيَظَلُّ سَخَطُكَ عَلَينا مُتَّقِداً كَالنّارِ إلَى الأبَدِ؟

6 P our out Your anger on the nations that do not know You, and on the nations that do not call on Your name.

اسكُبْ غَضَبَكَ عَلَى الشُّعُوبِ الَّتِي لا تَعْرِفُكَ، وَعَلَى المَمالِكِ الَّتِي لا تَلْجَأُ إلَيكَ.

7 F or they have destroyed Jacob. They have laid waste the place where he lived.

افعَلْ هَذا لِأنَّهُمْ هُمُ الَّذِينَ أهلَكُوا يَعْقُوبَ، وَخَرَّبُوا أرْضَهُمْ!

8 D o not hold the sins of our fathers against us. Let Your loving-pity come fast to meet us. For we are in much need.

لا تَذْكُرْ آثامَنا السّابِقَةَ! بَلْ أَظْهِرْ رَحمَتَكَ، لِأنَّنا بِلا حَولٍ وَلا قُوَّةٍ!

9 O God Who saves us, help us for the honor of Your name. Take us out of trouble and forgive our sins, for the honor of Your name.

أيُّها الإلَهُ الَّذِي يُخَلِّصُنا، أعِنّا مِنْ أجلِ كَرامَةِ اسْمِكَ! أنقِذْنا وَامْحُ خَطايانا، مِنْ أجلِ خَيْرِ اسْمِكَ!

10 W hy should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Make it known among the nations, in front of our eyes, that You punish for the blood that has poured from Your servants.

لِماذا تَترُكُ الشُّعُوبَ تَقُولُ لَنا: «أينَ إلَهُكُمْ؟» لَيتَ هَذِهِ الشُّعُوبَ تَرَى انتِقامَكَ لِدَمِ خُدّامِكَ المَسفُوكِ.

11 H ear the cries of those in prison. By the greatness of Your power, save those who are being sent to death.

لَيتَكَ تَسمَعُ أنّاتِ الأسرَى. لَيتَكَ تُظهِرُ عَظِيمَ قُوَّتِكَ وَتُنقِذُ المَحكُومَ عَلَيهِمْ بِالمَوْتِ.

12 A nd return to our neighbors seven times the shame that they have brought You, O Lord.

وَلَيتَكَ تَكِيلُ عَلَى جِيرانِنا سَبعَةَ أضعافٍ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الِاحتِقارِ الَّذِي أظهَرُوهُ لَكَ، يا رَبُّ!

13 T hen we Your people, the sheep of Your field, will give thanks to You forever. We will tell of Your praise to all the people of all times.

عِندَئِذٍ سَنَحْمَدُكَ نَحنُ شَعبَكَ وَخِرافَ مَرْعاكَ، إلَى الأبَدِ. وَمِن جِيلٍ إلَى جِيلٍ سَنُرَنِّمُ بِتَسبِيحِكَ!
