1 T hese are the families through which Jesus Christ came. He came through David and Abraham.

هَذا سِجِلُّ عائِلَةِ يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ: جاءَ يَسُوعُ مِنْ نَسلِ داوُدَ، وَداوُدُ مِنْ نَسلِ إبْراهِيمَ.

2 A braham was the father of Isaac. Isaac was the father of Jacob. Jacob was the father of Judah and his brothers.

إبْراهِيمُ هُوَ أبُو إسْحَاقَ. إسْحَاقُ أبُو يَعْقُوبَ. يَعْقُوبُ أبُوَ يَهُوذا وَإخوَتِهِ.

3 J udah was the father of Perez and Zerah. Their mother was Tamar. Perez was the father of Hezron. Hezron was the father of Aram.

يَهُوذا أبُو فارِصَ وَزارَحَ، اللَّذَينِ أُمُّهُما ثامارُ. فارِصُ أبُو حَصْرُونَ. حَصْرُونُ أبُو أرامَ.

4 A ram was the father of Amminadab. Amminadab was the father of Nahshon. Nahshon was the father of Salmon.

أرامُ أبُو عَمِّينادابَ. عَمِّينادابُ أبُو نَحْشُونَ. نَحْشُونُ أبُو سَلْمُونَ.

5 S almon was the father of Boaz. The mother of Boaz was Rahab. Boaz was the father of Obed. The mother of Obed was Ruth. Obed was the father of Jesse.

سَلْمُونُ أبُو بُوعَزَ، الَّذِي أُمُّهُ راحابُ. بُوعَزُ أبُو عُوبِيدَ، الَّذِي أُمُّهُ راعُوثَ. عُوبِيدُ أبُو يَسَّى.

6 J esse was the father of David the king. King David was the father of Solomon. His mother had been the wife of Uriah.

يَسَّى أبُو داوُدَ المَلِكِ. داوُدُ أبُو سُلَيْمانَ، الَّذِي كانَتْ أُمُّهُ زَوجَةَ أُورِيّا.

7 S olomon was the father of Rehoboam. Rehoboam was the father of Abijah. Abijah was the father of Asa.

سُلَيْمانُ أبُو رَحُبْعامَ. رَحُبْعامُ أبُو أبِيّا. أبِيّا أبُو آسا.

8 A sa was the father of Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat was the father of Joram. Joram was the father of Uzziah.

آسا أبُو يَهُوشافاطَ. يَهُوشافاطُ أبُو يُورامَ. يُورامُ أبُو عُزِّيّا.

9 U zziah was the father of Jotham. Jotham was the father of Ahaz. Ahaz was the father of Hezekiah.

عُزِّيّا أبُو يُوثامَ. يُوثامُ أبُو أحازَ. أحازُ أبُو حِزْقِيّا.

10 H ezekiah was the father of Manasseh. Manasseh was the father of Amon. Amon was the father of Josiah.

حِزْقِيّا أبُو مَنَسَّى. مَنَسَّى أبُو آمُونَ. آمُونُ أبُو يُوشِيّا.

11 J osiah was the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time the people were taken to Babylon.

يُوشِيّا أبُو يَكُنْيا وَإخوَتِهِ. هَذا إلَى وَقْتِ سَبْيِ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ إلَى بابِلَ.

12 A fter they were taken to the city of Babylon, Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel. Shealtiel was the father of Zerubbabel.

بَعْدَ السَّبْيِ إلَى بابِلَ: يَكُنْيا أبُو شَألْتِئِيلَ. شَألْتِئِيلُ أبُو زَرُبّابِلَ.

13 Z erubbabel was the father of Abiud. Abiud was the father of Eliakim. Eliakim was the father of Azor.

زَرُبّابِلُ أبُو أبِيهُودَ. أبِيهُودُ أبُو ألِياقِيمَ. ألِياقِيمُ أبُو عازُورَ.

14 A zor was the father of Zadok. Zadok was the father of Achim. Achim was the father of Eliud.

عازُورُ أبُو صادُوقَ. صادُوقُ أبُو أخِيمَ. أخِيمُ أبُو ألِيُودَ.

15 E liud was the father of Eleazar. Eleazar was the father of Matthan. Matthan was the father of Jacob.

ألِيُودُ أبُو ألِعازَرَ. ألِعازَرُ أبُو مَتّانَ. مَتّانُ أبُو يَعْقُوبَ.

16 J acob was the father of Joseph. Joseph was the husband of Mary. She was the mother of Jesus Who is called the Christ.

يَعْقُوبُ أبُو يُوسُفَ، زَوجِ مَرْيَمَ. وَمَرْيَمُ هِيَ أُمُّ يَسُوعَ الَّذِي يُدْعَى «المَسِيحَ.»

17 S o the number of families from Abraham to David was fourteen. The number of families from David to the time the people were taken to Babylon was fourteen. The number of families after they were taken to Babylon to the birth of Jesus Christ was fourteen. The Birth of Jesus

فَهُناكَ أربَعَةَ عَشَرَ جِيلاً مِنْ إبْراهِيمَ إلَى داوُدَ. وَأربَعَةَ عَشَرَ جِيلاً مِنْ داوُدَ إلَى وَقْتِ السَّبْيِ، وَأربَعَةَ عَشَرَ جِيلاً مِنْ وَقْتِ السَّبْيِ إلَى المَسِيحِ. وِلادَةُ يَسُوعَ المَسِيح

18 T he birth of Jesus Christ was like this: Mary His mother had been promised in marriage to Joseph. Before they were married, it was learned that she was to have a baby by the Holy Spirit.

أمّا وِلادَةُ يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ فَقَدْ تَمَّتْ كَما يَلِي: كانَتْ أُمُّهُ مَرْيَمُ مَخْطُوبَةً لِرَجُلٍ اسْمُهُ يُوسُفُ. وَلَكِنْ قَبلَ أنْ يَتَزَوَّجا، عَلِمَتْ أنَّها حُبلَى بِقُوَّةِ الرُّوحِ القُدُسِ.

19 J oseph was her promised husband. He was a good man and did not want to make it hard for Mary in front of people. He thought it would be good to break the promised marriage without people knowing it.

وَلَكِنَّ يُوسُفَ رَجُلَها كانَ صالِحاً، وَلَمْ يَشَأْ أنْ يَكشِفَ أمْرَها، فَقَرَّرَ أنْ يَترُكَها بِهُدُوءٍ.

20 W hile he was thinking about this, an angel of the Lord came to him in a dream. The angel said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. She is to become a mother by the Holy Spirit.

وَبَينَما كانَ يُوسُفُ يُفَكِّرُ بِهَذا، ظَهَرَ لَهُ مَلاكٌ فِي حُلْمٍ وَقالَ لَهُ: «يا يُوسُفُ ابْنُ داوُدَ، لا تَخَفْ أنْ تَقْبَلَ مَرْيَمَ امْرأةً لَكَ، لِأنَّ الطِّفلَ الَّذِي هِيَ حُبلَى بِهِ هُوَ مِنَ الرُّوحِ القُدُسِ.

21 A Son will be born to her. You will give Him the name Jesus because He will save His people from the punishment of their sins.”

وَسَتَلِدُ ابْناً، وَأنتَ سَتُسَمِّيهِ يَسُوعَ، لِأنَّهُ سَيُخَلِّصُ شَعبَهُ مِنْ خَطاياهُمْ.»

22 T his happened as the Lord said it would happen through the early preacher.

حَدَثَ هَذا لِكَي يَتِمَّ ما قالَهُ الرَّبُّ عَلَى لِسانِ النَّبِيِّ:

23 H e said, “The young woman, who has never had a man, will give birth to a Son. They will give Him the name Immanuel. This means God with us.”

«ها إنَّ العَذْراءَ سَتَحْبَلُ وَسَتَلِدُ ابْناً، وَسَيُدْعَى اسْمُهُ ‹عِمّانُوئِيلَ› الَّذِي مَعْناهُ: ‹اللهُ مَعَنا.›»

24 J oseph awoke from his sleep. He did what the angel of the Lord told him to do. He took Mary as his wife.

وَعِنْدَما اسْتَيقَظَ يُوسُفُ مِنْ نَومِهِ، عَمِلَ بِكُلِّ ما أمَرَهُ بِهِ مَلاكُ الرَّبِّ، فَأخَذَ امْرَأتَهُ إلَى بَيتِهِ.

25 B ut he did not have her, as a husband has a wife, until she gave birth to a Son. Joseph gave Him the name Jesus.

لَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَعْرِفْها حَتَّى وَلَدَتِ الطِّفلَ الَّذِي سَمّاهُ «يَسُوعَ.»
