1 O God, hear my voice when I complain. Keep my life safe from the fear of those who hate me.

Для дириґетна хору. Псалом Давидів. (64-2) Вислухай, Боже, мій голос, як скаржуся я, від страху ворожого душу мою хорони!

2 H ide me from the secret plans of the sinful and from the noise of those who do bad things.

(64-3) Заховай мене від потаємного збору злочинців, від крику свавільців,

3 T hey have made their tongues sharp like a sword. They use poison words like arrows.

(64-4) які нагострили свого язика, як меча, натягнули стрілу свою словом гірким,

4 T hey shoot at the man without blame from their hiding place. They are quick to shoot at him and are not afraid.

(64-5) щоб таємно стріляти в невинного, вони нагло стрілятимуть в нього, і не будуть боятись!...

5 T hey talk each other into doing sinful things. They talk about setting hidden traps. They say, “Who will see them?”

(64-6) У злій справі зміцняють себе, змовляються пастки таємно розставити, кажуть: Хто буде їх бачити?

6 T hey think of ways to do bad things, and say, “We have made a perfect plan!” For the inside thoughts and the heart of a man are deep.

(64-7) Вони кривди ховають... Загинемо, як задум їхній сповниться, бо нутро чоловіка та серце глибоке!

7 B ut God will shoot at them with an arrow. They will be hurt very soon.

(64-8) Але вчинить Бог, що стріла на них стрілить, і нагло поранені будуть,

8 T hey will be made to trip and fall. Their own tongue is against them. All who see them will shake their heads.

(64-9) і вчинить, що їхній язик допадеться до них, і будуть хитати головою усі, хто спогляне на них!...

9 T hen all men will be afraid. They will tell about the work of God. And they will think about what He has done.

(64-10) і всі люди боятися будуть, і будуть розказувати про чин Бога, і діло Його зрозуміють!

10 T he man who is right and good will be glad in the Lord and go to Him to be safe. All those whose hearts are right will give Him praise.

(64-11) і праведний Господом буде радіти, і буде вдаватись до Нього, і будуть похвалені всі простосерді!
