1 T hey were near Jerusalem and had come to the town of Bethphage at the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two followers on ahead.

А коли вони наблизились до Єрусалиму, і прийшли до Вітфагії, до гори до Оливної, тоді Ісус вислав двох учнів,

2 H e said to them, “Go to the town over there. You will find a donkey tied and her young with her. Let them loose and bring them to Me.

до них, кажучи: Ідіть у село, яке перед вами, і знайдете зараз ослицю прив'язану та з нею осля; відв'яжіть, і Мені приведіть їх.

3 I f anyone says something to you, say, ‘The Lord needs them.’ He will send them at once.”

А як хто вам що скаже, відкажіть, що їх потребує Господь, і він зараз пошле їх.

4 I t happened as the early preacher said it would happen, saying,

А це сталось, щоб справдилось те, що сказав був пророк, промовляючи:

5 “ Say to the people in Jerusalem, ‘See! Your King is coming to you. He is gentle. He is riding on a young donkey.’”

Скажіте Сіонській доньці: Ось до тебе йде Цар твій! Він покірливий, і всів на осла, на осля, під'яремної сина.

6 T he followers went and did as Jesus told them.

А учні пішли та й зробили, як звелів їм Ісус.

7 T hey brought the donkey and her young one. They put their clothes on the donkey and Jesus sat on them.

Вони привели до Ісуса ослицю й осля, і одежу поклали на них, і Він сів на них.

8 M any people put their coats down on the road. Other people cut branches from the trees and put them along the way.

І багато народу стелили одежу свою по дорозі, інші ж різали віття з дерев і стелили дорогою.

9 T he people who went in front and those who followed Jesus called out, “Greatest One! The Son of David! Great and honored is He Who comes in the name of the Lord! Greatest One in the highest heaven.”

А народ, що йшов перед Ним і позаду, викрикував, кажучи: Осанна Сину Давидовому! Благословенний, хто йде у Господнє Ім'я! Осанна на висоті!

10 W hen Jesus came into Jerusalem, all the people of the city were troubled. They said, “Who is this?”

А коли увійшов Він до Єрусалиму, то здвигнулося ціле місто, питаючи: Хто це такий?

11 M any people said, “This is Jesus, the One Who speaks for God from the town of Nazareth in the country of Galilee.” Jesus Stops the Buying and the Selling in the House of God

А народ говорив: Це Пророк, Ісус із Назарету Галілейського!

12 T hen Jesus went into the house of God and made all those leave who were buying and selling there. He turned over the tables of the men who changed money. He turned over the seats of those who sold doves.

Потому Ісус увійшов у храм Божий, і вигнав усіх продавців і покупців у храмі, і поперевертав грошомінам столи, та ослони продавцям голубів.

13 H e said to them, “It is written, ‘My house is to be called a house of prayer.’ You have made it a place of robbers.”

І сказав їм: Написано: Дім Мій буде домом молитви, а ви робите з нього печеру розбійників.

14 T he blind and those who could not walk came to Jesus in the house of God and He healed them.

І приступили у храмі до Нього сліпі та криві, і Він їх уздоровив.

15 T he religious leaders of the Jews and the teachers of the Law saw the great things He did. They heard the children calling in the house of God and saying, “Greatest One! Son of David!” The leaders were very angry.

А первосвященики й книжники, бачивши чуда, що Він учинив, і дітей, що в храмі викрикували: Осанна Сину Давидовому, обурилися,

16 T hey said to Jesus, “Do you hear what these children are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes, have you not read the writings, ‘Even little children and babies will honor Him’?”

та й сказали Йому: Чи ти чуєш, що кажуть вони? А Ісус відказав їм: Так. Чи ж ви не читали ніколи: Із уст немовлят, і тих, що ссуть, учинив Ти хвалу?

17 J esus left them and went out of the city to the town of Bethany. He stayed there that night. The Fig Tree Dries Up

І покинувши їх, Він вийшов за місто в Віфанію, і там ніч перебув.

18 I n the morning as He was coming back to the city, He was hungry.

А вранці, до міста вертаючись, Він зголоднів.

19 H e saw a fig tree by the side of the road and went to it. There was nothing on it but leaves. He said to the tree, “No fruit will ever grow on you again.” At once the fig tree dried up.

І побачив Він при дорозі одне фіґове дерево, і до нього прийшов, та нічого, крім листя самого, на нім не знайшов. І до нього Він каже: Нехай плоду із тебе не буде ніколи повіки! І фіґове дерево зараз усохло.

20 T he followers saw it and were surprised and wondered. They said, “How did the fig tree dry up so fast?”

А учні, побачивши це, дивувалися та говорили: Як швидко всохло це фіґове дерево!...

21 J esus said to them, “For sure, I tell you this: If you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only be able to do what was done to the fig tree. You will also be able to say to this mountain, ‘Move from here and be thrown into the sea,’ and it will be done.

Ісус же промовив у відповідь їм: Поправді кажу вам: Коли б мали ви віру, і не мали сумніву, то вчинили б не тільки як із фіґовим деревом, а якби й цій горі ви сказали: Порушся та кинься до моря, то й станеться те!

22 A ll things you ask for in prayer, you will receive if you have faith.” They Ask Jesus Who Gave Him the Power to Do These Things

І все, чого ви в молитві попросите з вірою, то одержите.

23 J esus came into the house of God. The religious leaders and the other leaders of the people came up to Him as He was teaching. They said, “By what right and power are You doing these things? Who gave You the right and the power to do them?”

А коли Він прийшов у храм і навчав, поприходили первосвященики й старші народу до Нього й сказали: Якою Ти владою чиниш оце? І хто Тобі владу цю дав?

24 J esus said to them, “I will ask you one thing also. If you tell Me, then I will tell you by what right and power I do these things.

Ісус же промовив у відповідь їм: Запитаю й Я вас одне слово. Як про нього дасте Мені відповідь, то й Я вам скажу, якою владою Я це чиню.

25 W as the baptism of John from heaven or from men?” They thought among themselves, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ then He will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’

Іванове хрищення звідки було: із неба, чи від людей? Вони ж міркували собі й говорили: Коли скажемо: Із неба, відкаже Він нам: Чого ж ви йому не повірили?

26 B ut if we say, ‘From men,’ we are afraid of the people, because they all think John was one who spoke for God.”

А як скажемо: Від людей, боїмося народу, бо Івана вважають усі за пророка.

27 T hey said to Jesus, “We do not know.” He said to them, “Then I will not tell you by what right and power I do these things. The Picture-Story of the Two Sons

І сказали Ісусові в відповідь: Ми не знаємо. Відказав їм і Він: То й Я вам не скажу, якою владою Я це чиню.

28 “ What do you think about this? There was a man who had two sons. He came to the first son and said, ‘My son, go to my grape-field and work today.’

А як вам здається? Один чоловік мав двох синів. Прийшовши до першого, він сказав: Піди но, дитино, сьогодні, працюй у винограднику!

29 H e said, ‘I will go.’ But he did not go.

А той відповів і сказав: Готовий, панотче, і не пішов.

30 T he father came to the second son and asked the same thing. The son said, ‘No, I will not go.’ Later he was sorry and went.

І, прийшовши до другого, так само сказав. А той відповів і сказав: Я не хочу. А потім покаявся, і пішов.

31 W hich one of the two sons did what his father wanted?” They said to Jesus, “The second son.” Jesus said to them, “For sure, I tell you this: Tax-gatherers and women who sell the use of their bodies will get into the holy nation of heaven before you.

Котрий же з двох учинив волю батькову? Вони кажуть: Останній. Ісус промовляє до них: Поправді кажу вам, що митники та блудодійки випереджують вас у Боже Царство.

32 F or John came to you preaching about being right with God. You did not believe him. But tax-gatherers and women who sell the use of their bodies did believe him. When you saw this, you were not sorry for your sins and did not turn from them and believe him. The Picture-Story of the Grape-Field

Бо прийшов був до вас дорогою праведности Іван, та йому не повірили ви, а митники та блудодійки йняли йому віри. А ви бачили, та проте не покаялися й опісля, щоб повірити йому.

33 “ Listen to another picture-story. A man who owned land planted grapes in a field and put a fence around it. He made a place for making wine. He built a tower to look over the grape-field. He let farmers rent it and then he went into another country.

Послухайте іншої притчі. Був господар один. Насадив виноградника він, обгородив його муром, видовбав у ньому чавило, башту поставив, і віддав його винарям, та й пішов.

34 T he time came for gathering the grapes. He sent his servants to the farmers to get the grapes.

Коли ж надійшов час плодів, він до винарів послав рабів своїх, щоб прийняти плоди свої.

35 T he farmers took his servants and hit one. They killed another and threw stones at another.

Винарі ж рабів його похапали, і одного побили, а другого замордували, а того вкаменували.

36 A gain he sent other servants. He sent more than the first time. The farmers did the same to those servants.

Знов послав він інших рабів, більш як перше, та й їм учинили те саме.

37 A fter this he sent his son to them. He said to himself, ‘They will respect my son.’

Нарешті послав до них сина свого і сказав: Посоромляться сина мого.

38 W hen the farmers saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the one who will get everything when the owner dies. Let us kill him and we will get it all.’

Але винарі, як побачили сина, міркувати собі стали: Це спадкоємець; ходім, замордуймо його, і заберемо його спадщину!

39 T hey took him and threw him out of the grape-field and killed him.

І, схопивши його, вони вивели за виноградник його, та й убили.

40 W hen the owner of the grape-field comes, what will he do to those farmers?”

Отож, як прибуде той пан виноградника, що зробить він тим винарям?

41 T hey said to Him, “He will put those bad men to death. Then he will rent the grape-field to other farmers who will give him the grapes when they are ready.”

Вони кажуть Йому: Злочинців погубить жорстоко, виноградника ж віддасть іншим винарям, що будуть плоди віддавати йому своєчасно.

42 J esus said to them, “Have you not read in the Holy Writings, ‘The Stone that was put aside by the workmen has become the most important Stone in the building? The Lord has done this. We think it is great!’

Ісус промовляє до них: Чи ви не читали ніколи в Писанні: Камінь, що його будівничі відкинули, той наріжним став каменем; від Господа сталося це, і дивне воно в очах наших!

43 I say to you, because of this, the holy nation of God will be taken from you. It will be given to a nation that will give fruit.

Тому кажу вам, що від вас Царство Боже відійметься, і дасться народові, що плоди його буде приносити.

44 W hoever falls on this Stone will be broken. And on the one it falls, it will make him like dust.”

І хто впаде на цей камінь розіб'ється, а на кого він сам упаде то розчавить його.

45 W hen the religious leaders and the proud religious law-keepers heard this picture-story, they knew He spoke of them.

А як первосвященики та фарисеї почули ці притчі Його, то вони зрозуміли, що про них Він говорить.

46 W hen they tried to put their hands on Him, they were afraid of the many people. The people thought He was One Who spoke for God.

І намагались схопити Його, але побоялись людей, бо вважали Його за Пророка.
