1 A fter Ehud died, the people of Israel sinned in the eyes of the Lord again.

¶ Mas los hijos de Israel volvieron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, después de la muerte de Aod.

2 S o the Lord let them be taken by Jabin king of Canaan, who ruled in Hazor. The head of his army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth-hagoyim.

Y el SEÑOR los vendió en mano de Jabín rey de Canaán, el cual reinó en Hazor; y el capitán de su ejército se llamaba Sísara, y él habitaba en Haroset de los gentiles.

3 T he people of Israel cried to the Lord, for Jabin had 900 iron war-wagons. He made it very hard for the people of Israel for twenty years.

Y los hijos de Israel clamaron al SEÑOR, porque aquel tenía novecientos carros herrados; y había afligido en gran manera a los hijos de Israel por veinte años.

4 N ow Lappidoth’s wife Deborah, a woman who spoke for God, was judging Israel at that time.

¶ Y gobernaba en aquel tiempo a Israel una mujer, Débora, profetisa, mujer de Lapidot.

5 S he would sit under the tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim. And the people of Israel came to her to find out what was right or wrong.

La cual Débora habitaba debajo de una palma entre Ramá y Bet-el, en el monte de Efraín; y los hijos de Israel subían a ella a juicio.

6 S he sent for Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedeshnaphtali, and said to him, “The Lord, the God of Israel, says, ‘Go to Mount Tabor. Take with you 10, 000 men from the sons of Naphtali and Zebulun.

Y ella envió a llamar a Barac hijo de Abinoam, de Cedes de Neftalí, y le dijo: ¿No te ha mandado el SEÑOR Dios de Israel, diciendo: Ve, y atrae en el monte de Tabor, y toma contigo diez mil hombres de los hijos de Neftalí, y de los hijos de Zabulón;

7 I will have Sisera, the head of Jabin’s army, meet you at the river Kishon. He will have his war-wagons and his many soldiers with him. But I will give him into your hand.’”

y yo atraeré a ti al arroyo de Cisón a Sísara, capitán del ejército de Jabín, con sus carros y su multitud, y lo entregaré en tus manos?

8 T hen Barak said to her, “I will go if you go with me. But if you do not go with me, I will not go.”

Y Barac le respondió: Si tú fueres conmigo, yo iré; pero si no fueres conmigo, no iré.

9 A nd she said, “For sure I will go with you. But the honor will not be yours as you go on your way. For the Lord will sell Sisera into the hands of a woman.” Then Deborah got up and went with Barak to Kedesh.

Y ella dijo: Iré contigo; mas no será tu honra en el camino que vas; porque en manos de una mujer venderá el SEÑOR a Sísara. Y levantándose Débora fue con Barac a Cedes.

10 B arak called Zebulun and Naphtali to come to Kedesh. He went up with 10, 000 men. And Deborah went up with him.

¶ Y juntó Barac a Zabulón y a Neftalí en Cedes, y subió con diez mil hombres de a pie, y Débora subió con él.

11 N ow Heber the Kenite had gone away from the Kenites, from the sons of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses. He had put up his tent as far away as the big tree in Zaanannim, near Kedesh.

Y Heber cineo, de los hijos de Hobab suegro de Moisés, se había apartado de los ceneos, y puesto su tienda hasta el valle de Zaanaim, que está junto a Cedes.

12 T hey told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor.

Vinieron, pues, las nuevas a Sísara como Barac hijo de Abinoam había subido al monte de Tabor.

13 S isera gathered together all his 900 iron war-wagons. He gathered together all the people who were with him, from Harosheth-hagoyim to the river Kishon.

Y reunió Sísara todos sus carros, novecientos carros herrados, con todo el pueblo que con él estaba, desde Haroset de los gentiles hasta el arroyo de Cisón.

14 D eborah said to Barak, “Get up! For this is the day the Lord has given Sisera into your hands. See, the Lord has gone out before you.” So Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and 10, 000 men followed him.

Entonces Débora dijo a Barac: Levántate; porque este es el día en que el SEÑOR ha de entregar a Sísara en tus manos. ¿No ha salido el SEÑOR delante de ti? Y Barac descendió del monte de Tabor, y diez mil hombres en pos de él.

15 T he Lord brought trouble upon Sisera and all his war-wagons and all his army in front of Barak with the sword. Sisera got down from his war-wagon and ran away on foot.

Y el SEÑOR quebrantó a Sísara, y a todos sus carros y a todo su ejército, a filo de espada delante de Barac; y Sísara descendió del carro, y huyó a pie.

16 B ut Barak went after the war-wagons and the army as far as Harosheth-hagoyim. All of Sisera’s army fell by the sword. Not one was left.

Mas Barac siguió a los carros y al ejército hasta Haroset de los gentiles, y todo el ejército de Sísara cayó a filo de espada hasta no quedar ni uno.

17 S isera ran away on foot to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite. For there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the family of Heber the Kenite.

¶ Y Sísara se acogió a pie a la tienda de Jael mujer de Heber cineo; porque había paz entre Jabín rey de Hazor y la casa de Heber cineo.

18 J ael went out to meet Sisera, saying, “Come in, my lord. Come in to me. Do not be afraid.” So he went into her tent, and she put a cover over him.

Y saliendo Jael a recibir a Sísara, le dijo: Ven, señor mío, ven a mí, no tengas temor. Y él vino a ella a la tienda, y ella le cubrió con una manta.

19 H e said to her, “Give me a little water to drink. For I am thirsty.” So she opened a skin bag of milk and gave him a drink. Then she covered him.

Y él le dijo: Dame a beber ahora un poco de agua, que tengo sed. Y ella abrió un odre de leche y le dio de beber, y le volvió a cubrir.

20 H e said to her, “Stand in the door of the tent. If anyone comes and asks you, ‘Is there anyone here?’ you say, ‘No.’”

Y él le dijo: Estáte a la puerta de la tienda, y si alguien viniere, y te preguntare, diciendo: ¿Hay aquí alguno? Tú responderás que no.

21 B ut Heber’s wife Jael took a big tent nail in her hand and a tool to hit it with. Because Sisera was very tired, he went into a deep sleep. She went to him in secret and hit the big nail into the side of his head. It went through and into the ground. So he died.

Y Jael, mujer de Heber, tomó la estaca de la tienda, y poniendo un mazo en su mano, vino a él calladamente, y le metió la estaca por las sienes, y la enclavó en la tierra, pues él estaba cargado de sueño y cansado; y así murió.

22 A s Barak came after Sisera, Jael came out to meet him. She said to him, “Come. I will show you the man you are looking for.” So Barak went in with her, and he saw Sisera lying dead with the big tent nail in his head.

Y siguiendo Barac a Sísara, Jael salió a recibirlo, y le dijo: Ven, y te mostraré al varón que tú buscas. Y él entró donde ella estaba, y he aquí Sísara yacía muerto con la estaca por la sien.

23 G od put Jabin the king of Canaan under the power of the people of Israel on that day.

Y aquel día sujetó Dios a Jabín, rey de Canaán, delante de los hijos de Israel.

24 T he people of Israel made it harder and harder for Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed him.

Y la mano de los hijos de Israel comenzó a crecer y a fortificarse contra Jabín rey de Canaán, hasta que lo destruyeron.
