1 T hen Solomon began to build the Lord’s house in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah. It was there that the Lord had shown Himself to his father David. It was the place that David had chosen, on the grain-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

Y comenzó Salomón a edificar la Casa en Jerusalén, en el monte Moriah que había sido mostrado a David su padre, en el lugar que David había preparado en la era de Ornán, el jebuseo.

2 S olomon began to build on the second day in the second month of the fourth year of his rule.

Y comenzó a edificar en el mes segundo, a los dos del mes, en el cuarto año de su reino.

3 H e laid the base for building the house of God. It was thirty long steps, using the old way to find the length. And it was ten long steps wide.

Estas son las medidas de que Salomón fundó el edificio de la Casa de Dios. La primera medida fue, la longitud de sesenta codos; y la anchura de veinte codos.

4 T he porch in front of the house was as long as the house was wide, ten long steps. It was thirty-three times taller than a man. And he covered the inside with pure gold.

El pórtico que estaba en la delantera de la longitud, era de veinte codos al frente del ancho de la casa, y su altura de ciento veinte; y lo cubrió por dentro de oro puro.

5 H e covered the large room with cypress wood, and covered that with fine gold. Then he made palm trees and chains on it.

Y cubrió la Casa mayor con madera de haya, la cual cubrió de buen oro, e hizo resaltar sobre ella palmas y cadenas.

6 H e put stones of much worth on the house for beauty. And the gold was from Parvaim.

Recubrió también la casa de piedras preciosas para belleza; y el oro era oro de Parvaim.

7 H e covered the house with gold. He covered its cross-pieces, its door-ways, its walls, and its doors. And he cut pictures of cherubim on the walls.

Así cubrió la Casa, sus vigas, sus umbrales, sus paredes, y sus entradas, con oro; y esculpió querubines en las paredes.

8 H e made the most holy place. It was as long as the house was wide, ten long steps. And it was as wide as ten long steps. He covered it with fine gold weighing as much as 600 men.

E hizo la Casa del lugar santísimo, cuya longitud era de veinte codos según el ancho del frente de la Casa, y su anchura de veinte codos; y la recubrió de buen oro que ascendía a seiscientos talentos.

9 T he nails weighed as much as fifty pieces of gold. He covered the rooms on the second floor with gold also.

Y el peso de los clavos tuvo cincuenta siclos de oro. Recubrió también de oro las salas.

10 T hen he made two cherubim of wood in the most holy place, and covered them with gold.

Y dentro de la Casa del lugar santísimo hizo dos querubines de hechura de figura, los cuales recubrieron de oro.

11 T he wings of the cherubim spread as far as ten long steps. The wing of one was as long as three steps, and touched the wall of the house. Its other wing was as long as three steps, and touched the wing of the other cherub.

El largo de las alas de los querubines era de veinte codos; porque un ala era de cinco codos; la cual llegaba hasta la pared de la Casa; y la otra ala de cinco codos, la cual llegaba al ala del otro querubín.

12 T he wing of the other cherub was as long as three steps, and touched the wall of the house. Its other wing was as long as three steps, and was joined to the wing of the first cherub.

De la misma manera un ala del otro querubín era de cinco codos; la cual llegaba hasta la pared de la Casa; y la otra ala era de cinco codos, que tocaba el ala del otro querubín.

13 T he wings of these cherubim spread as far as ten long steps. And they stood on their feet with their faces toward the holy place.

Así las alas de estos querubines estaban extendidas por veinte codos; y ellos estaban en pie con los rostros hacia la Casa.

14 H e made the curtain of blue, purple and red cloth and fine linen. And he worked cherubim on it.

Hizo también un velo de cárdeno, púrpura, carmesí y lino, e hizo resaltar en él querubines.

15 H e made two pillars in front of the house that were ten times taller than a man. The top piece of each one was as tall as a man can raise his hand.

Delante de la Casa hizo dos columnas de treinta y cinco codos de longitud; con sus capiteles encima, de cinco codos.

16 F or the inside holy place he made chains, and put them on the tops of the pillars. Then he made 100 pomegranates and put them on the chains.

Hizo también unas cadenas como en el oráculo, y las puso sobre los capiteles de las columnas; e hizo cien granadas, las cuales puso en las cadenas.

17 H e put up the pillars in front of the house of God. One was on the right and the other was on the left. He named the one on the right Jachin, and the one on the left Boaz.

Y asentó las columnas delante del templo, la una a la mano derecha, y la otra a la izquierda; y a la de la mano derecha llamó Jaquín, y a la de la izquierda, Boaz.
