4 Y ou who tear yourself in your anger, will the earth be left alone because of you? Or will the rocks be moved from their place?

Oh tu, que te despedaças na tua ira, acaso por amor de ti será abandonada a terra, ou será a rocha removida do seu lugar?

5 “ Yes, the light of the sinful is put out. His fire does not give light.

Na verdade, a luz do ímpio se apagará, e não resplandecerá a chama do seu fogo.

6 T he light in his tent is made dark, and his lamp goes out above him.

A luz se escurecerá na sua tenda, e a lâmpada que está sobre ele se apagará.

7 H is strong steps are made short, and his own plans make him fall.

Os seus passos firmes se estreitarão, e o seu próprio conselho o derribará.

8 F or he is thrown down into a net by his own feet and walks on it.

Pois por seus próprios pés é ele lançado na rede, e pisa nos laços armados.

9 A trap catches him by the foot and holds him.

A armadilha o apanha pelo calcanhar, e o laço o prende;

10 A tied rope is hidden in the ground for him. A trap is set for him on the path.

a corda do mesmo está-lhe escondida na terra, e uma armadilha na vereda.

11 H e is filled with fear on every side. It follows him at every step.

Terrores o amedrontam de todos os lados, e de perto lhe perseguem os pés.

12 H is strength leaves him because trouble is waiting for him at every side.

O seu vigor é diminuído pela fome, e a destruição está pronta ao seu lado.

13 H is skin is eaten by disease and the beginning of death eats his legs.

São devorados os membros do seu corpo; sim, o primogênito da morte devora os seus membros.

14 H e is taken away from his tent where he was safe, and is brought to the king of fears.

Arrancado da sua tenda, em que confiava, é levado ao rei dos terrores.

15 F ire destroys everything in his tent and sulphur is spread where he lives.

Na sua tenda habita o que não lhe pertence; espalha-se enxofre sobre a sua habitação.

16 H is roots are dried below and his branch is cut off above.

Por baixo se secam as suas raízes, e por cima são cortados os seus ramos.

17 N o one on earth will remember him. His name will not be known in the land.

A sua memória perece da terra, e pelas praças não tem nome.

18 H e is sent from light into darkness, and driven away from where people live.

É lançado da luz para as trevas, e afugentado do mundo.

19 H e has no children among his people to carry on his name where he lived.

Não tem filho nem neto entre o seu povo, e descendente nenhum lhe ficará nas moradas.

20 T hose in the west are surprised and afraid at what happened to him. And those in the east are filled with fear.

Do seu dia pasmam os do ocidente, assim como os do oriente ficam sobressaltados de horror.

21 F or sure, these are the houses of the sinful. This is the place of him who does not know God.”

Tais são, na verdade, as moradas do, impio, e tal é o lugar daquele que não conhece a Deus.
