1 ¶ Moreover, brothers, I would that ye not ignore how our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea

Защото, братя, желая да знаете, че макар да са били бащите ни всички под облака и всички да са минали през морето,

2 a nd were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea

и в облака, и в морето всички да са били кръстени в Моисей,

3 a nd did all eat the same spiritual food

и всички да са яли от същата духовна храна,

4 a nd did all drink the same spiritual drink, for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them; and that Rock was the Christ.

и всички да са пили от същото духовно питие (защото пиеха от една духовна канара, която ги придружаваше; и тази канара беше Христос),

5 B ut with many of them God was not pleased; therefore, they were overthrown in the wilderness.

пак в повечето от тях Бог не благоволи; затова ги повали с мор в пустинята.

6 ¶ Now these things became types of us, that we should not lust after evil things as they lusted.

А в тези неща те ни станаха поучителен пример, за да не пожелаваме страстно злото, както те го пожелаваха.

7 N either be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.

Не бъдете идолопоклонници, както някои от тях, според писаното: "Народът седна да яде и да пие и стана да играе."

8 N either let us commit fornication, as some of them committed and fell dead: in one day, twenty-three thousand.

Нито да блудстваме, както блудстваха някои от тях и паднаха в един ден двадесет и три хиляди души.

9 N either let us tempt the Christ, as some of them also tempted and perished by the serpents.

Нито да изпитваме Господа, както някои от тях Го изпитаха и погинаха от змиите.

10 N either murmur ye, as some of them also murmured and perished by the destroyer.

Нито роптайте, както възроптаха някои от тях и бяха поразени от погубителя.

11 N ow all these things happened unto them as types, and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.

А всичко това им се случи за пример и се написа за поука за нас, върху които са дошли последните времена.

12 T herefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

Затова който мисли, че стои, нека внимава да не падне.

13 N o temptation has taken you but such as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Никакво изпитание не ви е постигнало освен това, което може да носи човек; но верен е Бог, Който няма да ви остави да бъдете изпитани повече, отколкото ви е силата, а заедно с изпитанието ще даде и изходен път, така че да можете да го издържите.

14 T herefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

Затова, възлюбени мои, бягайте от идолопоклонството.

15 ¶ I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

Говоря като на разумни човеци; сами вие съдете за това, което казвам.

16 T he cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the fellowship of the blood of the Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the fellowship of the body of the Christ?

Чашата, която бе благословена и която ние благославяме, не е ли това, да имаме общение в Христовата кръв? Хлябът, който пречупваме, не е ли да имаме общение в Христовото тяло?

17 F or one loaf of bread means that many are one body, for we are all partakers of that one loaf.

Защото ние, ако и да сме мнозина, сме един хляб, едно тяло, понеже всички в единия хляб участваме.

18 B ehold Israel after the flesh: are not those who eat of the sacrifices participants of the altar?

Вижте Израел по плът: тези, които ядат жертвите, нямат ли общение в жертвеника? Тогава какво?

19 W hat do I say then? that the idol is anything or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything?

Казвам ли аз, че идоложертвеното е нещо или че идолът е нещо? Не.

20 B ut I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God; and I would not that ye should be participants of demons.

Но казвам, че онова, което жертват езичниците, жертват го на бесовете, а не на Бога; но аз не желая вие да имате общение с бесовете.

21 Y e cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; ye cannot be participants of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.

Не можете да пиете Господнята чаша и бесовската чаша; не можете да участвате в Господнята трапеза и в бесовската трапеза.

22 S hall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

Или искаме да подбудим Господа към ревност? Ние по-силни ли сме от Него? Свободата на християнина

23 ¶ All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient; all things are lawful for me, but all things do not edify.

Всичко е позволено, но не всичко е полезно; всичко е позволено, но не всичко е назидателно.

24 L et no one seek his own good, but that of the other.

Никой да не търси своята лична полза, но всеки - ползата на другия.

25 W hatever is sold in the market, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake;

Всичко, което се продава в месарницата, яжте, без да го изпитвате заради съвестта си;

26 f or the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.

защото "Господня е земята и всичко, което има в нея".

27 I f any of those that do not believe bid you to a feast, and ye are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you asking no questions for conscience sake.

Ако някой от невярващите ви покани на угощение и вие желаете да отидете, яжте каквото сложат пред вас, без да го изпитвате заради съвестта си.

28 B ut if anyone says unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, do not eat it for the sake of him that disclosed it and for conscience sake; for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof:

Но ако някой ви каже: Това е било принесено в жертва, не яжте, заради този, който ви е известил, и заради съвестта:

29 c onscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other, for why should my liberty be judged by another man’s conscience?

съвест, казвам, не твоята, а на другия. (Понеже защо да се съди моята свобода от чужда съвест?

30 F or if I by grace am a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

Ако аз с благодарение на Бога участвам в яденето, защо да ме злословят за онова, за което благодаря?)

31 W hether therefore ye eat or drink or whatever ye do, do everything for the glory of God.

И така, ядете ли, пиете ли, вършите ли нещо, всичко вършете за Божията слава.

32 B e without offense, neither to the Jews nor to the Gentiles nor to the congregation of God;

Не ставайте съблазън нито на юдеи, нито на гърци, нито на Божията църква;

33 e ven as I please everyone in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

както и аз угаждам на всички във всичко, като търся не своята полза, но ползата на мнозина, за да се спасят.
