1 ¶ Then Bildad, the Shuhite, answered and said,

Тогава савхиецът Валдад отговори:

2 H ow long wilt thou speak such things and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?

Докога ще говориш така и думите на устата ти ще бъдат като силен вятър?

3 S hall God pervert that which is right or shall the Almighty pervert justice?

Бог променя ли съда? Или Всемогъщият променя правдата?

4 B ecause thy sons sinned against him, he cast them away in the place of their rebellion;

Ако синовете ти са съгрешили пред Него и Той ги е предал на последствията от беззаконието им;

5 i f thou would seek God early and make thy supplication to the Almighty,

ако ти прилежно би потърсил Бога, ако би се помолил на Всемогъщия,

6 i f thou wert pure and upright, surely now he would awake upon thee and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

тогава, ако ти беше чист и правдив, непременно сега Той би се събудил да работи за теб и би направил да благоденства праведното ти жилище;

7 I n such a way that thy beginning would have been small, in comparison to the great increase of thy latter.

и при все да е било малко началото ти, пак в сетните си дни ще имаш много повече.

8 ¶ Ask, I pray thee, of the former age, and be willing to enquire of thy fathers regarding them;

Понеже попитай, моля, предишните родове и внимавай в изпитаното от бащите им

9 f or we are but of yesterday and know nothing because our days upon earth are as a shadow.

(защото ние сме вчерашни и не знаем нищо, тъй като дните на земята са сянка);

10 S hall they not teach thee and tell thee and utter these words out of their heart?

не искат ли те да те научат и да ти явят, и да произнесат думи от сърцата си?

11 C an the rush grow up without mire? Can the meadow grow without water?

Никне ли рогоза без тиня? Расте ли тръстиката без вода?

12 W hilst it is yet in its greenness and not cut down, it withers before any other herb.

Докато е още зелена и неокосена, изсъхва преди всяка друга трева.

13 S o are the paths of all that forget God, and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish.

Така са пътищата на всички, които забравят Бога; и надеждата на нечестивия ще загине.

14 F or his hope shall be cut off, and his trust is a spider’s web.

Надеждата му ще се пресече; упованието му е паяжина.

15 H e shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand; he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

Той ще се опре на къщата си, но тя няма да устои; ще се хване за нея, но няма да издържи.

16 L ike a tree, he is green before the sun, and his branches go forth over his garden;

Той зеленее пред слънцето и клончетата му се простират в градината му;

17 h is roots weave themselves around a spring and secure themselves even in a stony place.

корените му се сплитат в грамадата камъни; той гледа на камъните като на дом.

18 I f he is uprooted from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

Но пак, ако го изтръгне някой от мястото му, тогава мястото ще се отрече от него, като каже: Не съм те видял.

19 B ehold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth from where he was transplanted, others shall grow.

Ето това е радостта от пътя му! И от пръстта други ще поникнат.

20 ¶ Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man; neither will he help the evil doers.

Ето, Бог няма да отхвърли непорочния, нито ще подири ръката на злотворците.

21 H e will yet fill thy mouth with laughing and thy lips with shouts of joy.

Все пак ще напълни устата ти със смях и устните ти с възклицание.

22 T hose that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.

Онези, които те мразят, ще се облекат със срам; и шатърът на нечестивите няма вече да съществува.
