1 ¶ On that same day King Ahasuerus gave the house of Haman, the Jews’ enemy, unto Esther, the queen. And Mordecai came before the king, for Esther had told what he was unto her.

В същия ден цар Асуир даде на царица Естир дома на неприятеля на юдеите Аман. И Мардохей дойде пред царя, защото Естир беше казала какъв ѝ беше той.

2 A nd the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.

И царят извади пръстена си, който беше взел от Аман, и го даде на Мардохей. А Естир постави Мардохей над Амановия дом.

3 ¶ And Esther spoke yet again before the king and fell down at his feet and besought him with tears to put away the evil of Haman, the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.

Тогава Естир говорѝ пак пред царя, паднала на краката му, и му се молѝ със сълзи да отстрани злото, скроено от агагеца Аман, и замисленото, което беше наредил с хитрост против юдеите.

4 T hen the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. So Esther arose and stood before the king,

А царят простря златния скиптър към Естир; и така, Естир се изправи, застана пред царя и каза:

5 A nd said, If it pleases the king and if I have found grace in his sight and if the thing is right before the king and if I am good in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews who are in all the king’s provinces.

Ако е угодно на царя и ако съм придобила неговото благоволение, и това се види право на царя, и ако съм му угодна, нека нареди да се отмени писаното в писмата, придобити с хитрост от агагеца Аман, син на Амидат, който писа, за да бъдат погубени юдеите по всички области на царя;

6 F or how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? How can I endure to see the destruction of my nation?

защото как бих могла да търпя да видя злото, което би сполетяло народа ми? Или как бих могла да търпя да видя изтреблението на рода си?

7 T hen King Ahasuerus said unto Esther, the queen, and to Mordecai, the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and they have hanged him upon the gallows because he extended his hand against the Jews.

Тогава цар Асуир каза на царица Естир и на юдеина Мардохей: Ето, дадох на Естир дома на Аман; и него обесиха на бесилката, защото вдигна ръката си против юдеите.

8 W rite ye also for the Jews, as it pleases you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring; for the writing which is written in the king’s name and sealed with the king’s ring may not be revoked.

И така, пишете и вие на юдеите, каквото обичате от името на царя и го подпечатайте с царския пръстен; защото писмо, писано от името на царя и подпечатано с царския пръстен, не се отменя.

9 T hen the king’s scribes were called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the twenty-third day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews and to the lieutenants and the captains and the princes of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, one hundred and twenty-seven provinces, unto each province according to the writing thereof, and unto each people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.

Тогава в третия месец, който е месец Сиван, на двадесет и третия му ден царските секретари бяха повикани и бе писано точно според това, което заповяда Мардохей на юдеите и на сатрапите, и на управителите, и на първенците на областите, които бяха от Индия до Етиопия сто двадесет и седем области, във всяка област според азбуката ѝ и на всеки народ според езика му, и на юдеите според азбуката им и според езика им.

10 A nd he wrote in King Ahasuerus’s name and sealed it with the king’s ring and sent letters by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, mules that were born of mares,

И Мардохей писа от името на цар Асуир и го подпечата с царския пръстен, и изпрати писмата с бързоходци конници, които яздеха на бързи коне, използвани в царската служба, от отбрани кобили,

11 t hat the king granted power to the Jews who were in all the cities to gather themselves together and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish any army of the people or province that would assault them, and even their little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey,

чрез които писма царят разреши на юдеите във всеки град, където се намираха, да се съберат да станат за живота си, да погубят, да избият и да изтребят цялата сила на онзи народ и на онази област, които биха ги нападнали, заедно с децата и жените им, и да разграбят имота им,

12 u pon the same day in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus, namely, upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.

и то в един ден по всички области на цар Асуир, т. е. в тринадесетия ден от дванадесетия месец, който е месец Адар.

13 T he copy of the writing which was to be given as law in each province was published unto all people and said that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves of their enemies.

Препис от писаното, чрез който щеше да бъде разнесена тази заповед по всяка област, бе обнародвана между всички племена, за да бъдат готови юдеите за онзи ден да въздадат на неприятелите си.

14 S o the posts rode upon mules, they went out on mules, being hastened and pressed on by the king’s commandment. And the law was given at Shushan, the palace.

И бързоходците, които яздеха на бързи коне, използвани в царската служба, излязоха бързо, тласкани от царската заповед. Указът бе издаден в столицата Суса. Евреите побеждават враговете си

15 ¶ And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white and with a great crown of gold and with a mantel of fine linen and purple; and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

А Мардохей излезе от присъствието на царя в царски дрехи, сини и бели, и с голяма златна корона, и с висонена и морава мантия; и град Суса се радваше и се веселеше.

16 T he Jews had light and gladness and joy and honour.

А юдеите имаха светлина и веселие, радост и слава.

17 A nd in each province and in each city wherever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a banquet and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews, for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.

И във всяка област и във всеки град, където стигна царската заповед и указ, юдеите имаха радост и веселие, пируване и добър ден. И мнозина от народа на земята станаха юдеи; защото ги обзе страх от юдеите.
