1 ¶ Again, David gathered together all the chosen of Israel, thirty thousand.

След това Давид пак събра всички отбрани мъже от Израел на брой тридесет хиляди души.

2 A nd David arose and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah to bring up from there the ark of God upon which the name of the LORD of the hosts is invoked, who dwells there between the cherubim.

И Давид тръгна от Ваала Юдова и отиде заедно с целия народ, за да пренесе оттам Божия ковчег, който се нарича с името на Господа на Силите, Който обитава между херувимите.

3 A nd they set the ark of God upon a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah, and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab drove the new cart.

Положиха Божия ковчег на една нова кола и го взеха от Авинадавовата къща, която беше на хълма. А Оза и Ахио, Авинадавовите синове, караха новата кола с Божия ковчег,

4 A nd when they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was at Gibeah, with the ark of God, Ahio went before the ark.

като Ахио вървеше пред ковчега, а Оза край него.

5 A nd David and all the house of Israel danced before the LORD with all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps and on psalteries and on timbrels and on cornets and on cymbals.

А Давид и целият Израелев дом свиреха пред Господа с всякакви видове инструменти от елхово дърво, с арфи, псалтири, тъпанчета, цитри и кимвали.

6 ¶ And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen shook it.

Когато стигнаха до Нахоновия харман, Оза протегна ръката си към Божия ковчег и го хвана; защото воловете го раздрусаха.

7 A nd the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and God smote him there for his effrontery, and there he died by the ark of God.

Тогава Господният гняв пламна против Оза и Бог го порази за грешката му; и той умря там, при Божия ковчег.

8 A nd David was grieved because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah, and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.

А Давид се наскърби затова, че Господ нанесе поражение на Оза; и нарече онова място Фарез-Оза, както се нарича и до днес.

9 A nd David was afraid of the LORD that day and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?

В онзи ден Давид се уплаши от Господа и каза: Как ще дойде Господният ковчег при мене?

10 S o David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David, but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom, the Gittite.

Затова Давид отказа да премести Господния ковчег при себе си в Давидовия град и го отклони в къщата на гетеца Овид-едом.

11 A nd the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months; and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.

Господният ковчег престоя в къщата на гетеца Овид-едом три месеца. И Господ благослови Овид-едом и целия му дом.

12 ¶ And it was told King David, saying, The LORD has blessed the house of Obededom and all that pertains unto him because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.

И така, известиха на цар Давид, че Господ е благословил дома на Овид-едом и целия му имот заради Божия ковчег. Тогава Давид отиде и пренесе с веселия Божия ковчег от къщата на Овид-едом в Давидовия град.

13 A nd it was so that when those that bore the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

И когато тези, които носеха Господния ковчег, преминаха шест крачки, той пожертва говеда и угоени телета.

14 A nd David danced before the LORD with all his might, and David was girded with a linen ephod.

А Давид танцуваше пред Господа с всичката си сила и беше препасан с ленен ефод.

15 S o David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of the shofar.

Така Давид и целият Израелев дом пренесоха Господния ковчег с възклицание и тръбен звук.

16 A nd as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, and she despised him in her heart.

А когато Господният ковчег влизаше в Давидовия град, Михала, Сауловата дъщеря, погледна от прозореца и като видя, че цар Давид скачаше и танцуваше пред Господа, го презря в сърцето си.

17 A nd they brought in the ark of the LORD and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it, and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

Донесоха Господния ковчег и го положиха на мястото му, сред шатъра, който Давид беше поставил за него. А Давид принесе всеизгаряния и мирни приноси пред Господа.

18 A nd as soon as David had finished offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of the hosts.

И когато Давид свърши принасянето на всеизгарянията и мирните приноси, благослови народа в името на Господа на Силите.

19 A nd he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, to the men as well to the women, to each one a cake of bread and a good piece of flesh and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed each one to his house.

Той раздаде на целия народ, т. е. на цялото множество израелтяни, мъже и жени, на всеки човек, по един хляб, по една мяра вино и по един наниз сухо грозде. Тогава целият народ си отиде, всеки в къщата си.

20 ¶ Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal, the daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, How glorious was the king of Israel today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the handmaids of his slaves as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!

А когато Давид се връщаше, за да благослови дома си, Михала, Сауловата дъщеря, излезе да го посрещне и каза: Колко славен беше днес Израелевият цар, който се съблече днес пред очите на слугините на служителите си, както се съблича безсрамно един никакъв човек!

21 T hen David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, who chose me over thy father and over all his house to appoint me prince over the people of the LORD, over Israel; therefore, I will dance before the LORD.

А Давид отговори на Михала: Пред Господа, Който предпочете мене пред баща ти и пред целия негов дом, за да ме постави вожд над Господния народ, над Израел - да! - пред Господа танцувах.

22 A nd I will yet be more vile than thus and will be base in my own sight and before the maidservants whom thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.

И ще се унижа още повече и ще се смиря пред собствените си очи; а от слугините, за които ти говориш, от тях ще бъда почитан.

23 T herefore, Michal, the daughter of Saul, had no children unto the day of her death.

Затова Михала, Сауловата дъщеря, остана бездетна до деня на смъртта си.
