1 ¶ Now Hiram, king of Tyre, sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him a house.

След това тирският цар Хирам прати посланици при Давид и кедрови дървета, зидари и дърводелци, за да му построят къща.

2 A nd David, understanding that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel and had lifted up his kingdom above his people Israel,

И Давид позна, че Господ го беше утвърдил за цар над Израел, защото царството му се възвиси нависоко заради народа Му Израел.

3 t ook more wives at Jerusalem; and David begat more sons and daughters.

Давид си взе още жени в Йерусалим и роди още синове и дъщери.

4 N ow these are the names of his children which were born unto him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

Ето имената на синовете, които му се родиха в Йерусалим: Самуа, Совав, Натан, Соломон,

5 I bhar, Elishua, Elpalet,

Евар, Елисуа, Елфалет,

6 N ogah, Nepheg, Japhia,

Ногах, Нефег, Яфия,

7 E lishama, Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

Елисама, Веелиада и Елифалет. Победа над филистимците

8 ¶ And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it and went out against them.

А когато филистимците чуха, че Давид бил помазан за цар над целия Израел, всички филистимци излязоха да го търсят; а Давид, като чу за това, излезе против тях.

9 A nd the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

И така, филистимците дойдоха и нахлуха в долината Рафаим.

10 A nd David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? Wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up, for I will deliver them into thy hands.

Тогава Давид се допита до Бога: Да изляза ли против филистимците? Ще ги предадеш ли в ръката ми? А Господ му отговори: Излез, защото ще ги предам в ръката ти.

11 S o they came up to Baalperazim, and David smote them there. Then David said, God has broken in upon my enemies by my hand like the breaking forth of waters. Therefore, they called the name of that place Baalperazim.

И така, те отидоха на Ваал-ферасим и там Давид ги порази. Тогава Давид каза: Бог избухна чрез моята ръка върху неприятелите ми, както избухват водите. Затова онова място бе наречено Ваал-ферасим.

12 A nd they left their gods there, and David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

Филистимците оставиха там боговете си; а Давид заповяда и ги изгориха с огън.

13 A nd the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

И филистимците пак нахлуха в долината.

14 T herefore, David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Do not go up after them; go around them to come upon them over against the mulberry trees;

Затова Давид пак се допита до Бога; и Бог му отговори: Не излизай против тях, а ги заобиколи и ги нападни откъм черниците.

15 a nd it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle; for God shall go forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

И когато чуеш шум като от маршируване по върховете на черниците, тогава ще излезеш на бой, защото Бог ще излезе пред тебе да порази филистимското множество.

16 D avid, therefore, did as God commanded him, and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.

Давид направи според както му заповяда Бог; и поразяваха филистимското множество от Гаваон чак до Гезер.

17 A nd the fame of David went out into all those lands, and the LORD put the fear of him upon all the Gentiles.

И Давидовото име се прочу по всичките земи; и Господ нанесе страх от него върху всички народи.
