1 ¶ Now Hiram, king of Tyre, sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him a house.

وَأرْسَلَ حِيرامُ مَلِكُ صُورَ رُسُلاً إلَى داوُدَ مَعَ خَشَبِ أرزٍ، وَبَنّائِينَ، وَنَجّارِينَ لِكَي يَبْنُوا لَهُ بَيتاً.

2 A nd David, understanding that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel and had lifted up his kingdom above his people Israel,

وَتَيَقَّنَ أنَّ اللهَ قَدْ ثَبَّتَهُ مَلِكاً عَلَى إسْرائِيلَ، لِأنَّ مَملَكَتَهُ صارَتْ قَوِيَّةً جِدّاً، مِنْ أجلِ شَعبِهِ إسْرائِيلَ.

3 t ook more wives at Jerusalem; and David begat more sons and daughters.

وَاتَّخَذَ داوُدُ لِنَفْسِهِ مَزِيداً مِنَ الزَّوْجاتِ فِي القَدْسِ، وَأنجَبَ مَزِيداً مِنَ الأولادِ وَالبَناتِ.

4 N ow these are the names of his children which were born unto him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

وَهَذِهِ هِيَ أسماءُ أبْنائِهِ الَّذِينَ وُلِدُوا فِي القُدْسِ، شَمُّوعُ وَشُوبابُ وَناثانُ وَسُلَيْمانُ

5 I bhar, Elishua, Elpalet,

وَيِبْحارُ وَألِيشُوعُ وَألِفالَطُ

6 N ogah, Nepheg, Japhia,

وَنُوجَهُ وَنافَجُ وَيافِيعُ

7 E lishama, Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

وَألِيشَمَعُ وَبَعَلْياداعُ وَألِيفَلَطُ. داوُدُ يَهْزِمُ الفِلِسْطِيِّين

8 ¶ And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it and went out against them.

وَسَمِعَ الفِلِسْطِيُّونَ أنَّ داوُدَ مُسِحَ بِالزَّيتِ مَلِكاً عَلَى إسْرائِيلَ كُلِّها. فَصَعِدَ الفِلِسْطِيُّونَ كُلُّهُمْ بَحثاً عَنْ داوُدَ. وَسَمِعَ داوُدُ بِذَلِكَ، فَخَرَجَ لِمُلاقاتِهِمْ.

9 A nd the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

وَكانَ الفِلِسْطِيُّونَ قَدْ جاءُوا وَأغارُوا عَلَى وادِي رِفائِيِمَ،

10 A nd David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? Wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up, for I will deliver them into thy hands.

فَسَألَ داوُدُ اللهَ: «هَلْ أصْعَدُ لِمُحارَبَةِ الفِلِسْطِيِّينَ؟ وَهَلْ سَتُعِينُنِي عَلَى هَزِيمَتِهِمْ؟» فَقالَ لَهُ اللهُ: «نَعَمْ، اذهَبْ لِمُحارَبَتِهِمْ، وَسَأُعِينُكَ عَلَى هَزِيمَتِهِمْ.»

11 S o they came up to Baalperazim, and David smote them there. Then David said, God has broken in upon my enemies by my hand like the breaking forth of waters. Therefore, they called the name of that place Baalperazim.

فَذَهَبَ داوُدُ وَرِجالُهُ لِمُحارَبَتِهِمْ فِي بَعلِ فَراصِيمَ، وَهَزَمَهُمْ داوُدُ هُناكَ. فَقالَ داوُدُ: «اختَرَقَ اللهُ بِي أعدائِي كَما تَختَرِقُ السُّيُولُ سَدّاً.» وَلِهَذا سُمِّيَ ذَلِكَ المَكانُ «بَعلَ فَراصِيمَ.»

12 A nd they left their gods there, and David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

وَتَرَكَ الفِلِسْطِيُّونَ هُناكَ تَماثِيلَ آلِهَتَهُمْ، فَأمَرَ داوُدُ بِإحراقِها. مَعركةٌ أُخرَى ضِدَّ الفِلِسْطِيِّين

13 A nd the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

وَأغارَ الفِلِسْطِيُّونَ عَلَى الوادِي مَرَّةً أُخْرَى.

14 T herefore, David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Do not go up after them; go around them to come upon them over against the mulberry trees;

وَصَلَّى داوُدُ إلى اللهِ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى، فَقالَ لَهُ اللهُ: «لا تَهجُمْ عَلَيهِمْ مُواجَهَةً، بَلْ دُرْ حَولَهُمْ وَاهجُمْ عَلَيهِمْ مِنْ ناحِيَةِ أشْجارِ البَلَسانِ.

15 a nd it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle; for God shall go forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

وَعِندَما تَسْمَعُ صَوْتَ خَطَواتٍ فِي أعَلَى أشْجارِ البَلَسانِ، حِينَئِذٍ، اخرُجْ لِلقِتالِ، لِأنَّ اللهَ خارِجٌ أمامَكَ لِهَزِيمَةِ جَيشِ الفِلِسْطِيِّينَ.»

16 D avid, therefore, did as God commanded him, and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.

فَفَعَلَ داوُدُ كَما أمَرَهُ اللهُ، فَهَزَمَ داوُدُ وَجَيشُهُ الجَيشَ الفِلِسْطِيَّ مِنْ جَبْعُونَ إلَى جازَرَ.

17 A nd the fame of David went out into all those lands, and the LORD put the fear of him upon all the Gentiles.

وَذاعَ صِيتُ داوُدَ فِي جَمِيعِ البِلادِ، فَجَعَلَ اللهُ كُلَّ الأُمَمِ تَهابُهُ.
