1 ¶ Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the rights, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you that ye might do them in the land into which ye go to inherit it

«وَهَذِهِ هِيَ الوَصايا وَالشَّرائِعُ وَالفَرائِضُ الَّتِي أمَرَنِي إلَهُكُمْ بِأنْ أُعَلِّمَكُمْ إيّاها، لِتَعمَلُوا بِها فِي الأرْضِ الَّتِي أنتُمْ عابِرُونَ إلَيها لِتَمتَلِكُوها.

2 t hat thou might fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou and thy son and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life and that thy days may be prolonged.

فَهَكَذا تَهابُونَ إلَهَكُمْ بِإطاعَةِ كُلِّ شَرائِعِهِ وَوَصاياهُ الَّتِي أُوصِيكُمْ بِها أنتُمْ وَبَنُوكُمْ وَأحفادُكُمْ كُلَّ أيّامِ حَياتِكُمْ، فَتَعِيشُوا حَياةً طَوِيلَةً.

3 H ear, therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it that it may be well with thee and that ye may be multiplied exceedingly (as the LORD God of thy fathers has said unto thee) in the land that flows with milk and honey.

اسْمَعْ يا إسْرائِيلَ، وَاحرِصْ عَلَى إطاعَةِ هَذِهِ الشَّرائِعِ، فَتَنجَحَ وَتَتَكاثَرَ فِي الأرْضِ، إذْ وَعَدَ اللهُ ، إلهَ آبائِكُمْ، بِأنْ يُعطِيَكُمُ أرْضاً تَفيضُ لَبَناً وَعَسَلاً.

4 ¶ Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.

«اسْمَعْ يا إسْرائِيلَ، يهوه هُوَ إلَهُنا، يهوه وَحْدُهُ.

5 A nd thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul and with all thy might.

فَتُحِبَّ إلَهَكَ بِكُلِّ قَلبِكَ، وَبِكُلِّ نَفسِكَ، وَبِكُلِّ قُوَّتِكَ.

6 A nd these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart,

تَذَكَّرُوا دائِماً هَذِهِ الوَصايا الَّتِي أُعطِيها لَكُمُ اليَومَ.

7 a nd thou shalt repeat them diligently unto thy sons and shalt talk of them being in thy house and walking by the way, lying down in bed, and rising up;

عَلِّمُوها لِأولادِكُمْ، تَكَلَّمُوا عَنها فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ وَخارِجَ بُيوتِكُمْ، وَحِينَ تَنامُونَ، وَحِينَ تَنهَضُونَ.

8 a nd thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thy hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thy eyes;

اكتُبُوها وَاربِطُوها عَلامَةً عَلَى أيدِيكُمْ، وَالبَسُوها كَعُصابَةٍ عَلَى جِباهِكُمْ.

9 a nd thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house and on thy gates.

اكتُبُوها عَلَى دَعائِمِ أبوابِ بُيُوتِكُمْ وَبَوّاباتِ مَدِينَتِكُمْ.

10 A nd it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give it unto thee: great and goodly cities, which thou didst not build,

«وَحِينَ يُحضِرُكُمْ إلَهُكُمْ إلَى الأرْضِ الَّتِي أقسَمَ لآبائِكُمْ إبراهِيمَ وَإسْحاقَ وَيَعقُوبَ بِأنْ يُعطِيها لَكُمْ، الَّتِي فِيها مُدُنٌ عَظِيمَةٌ جَمِيلَةٌ لَمْ تَبنُوها،

11 a nd houses full of all good things, which thou didst not fill, and hewn out wells, which thou didst not dig, vineyards and olive trees, which thou didst not plant; when thou shalt have eaten and be full,

وَبُيُوتٌ تَمتَلِئُ بِخَيراتٍ كَثِيرَةٍ لَمْ تَملأُوها أنتُمْ، وَآبارٌ لَمْ تَحفُرُوها، وَكُرُومُ عِنَبٍ وَبَساتِينُ زَيتُونٍ لَمْ تَزرَعُوها، وَحِينَ تَأكُلُونَ وَتَشبَعُونَ مِنْها،

12 t hen beware lest thou forget the LORD, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery.

لا تَنسَوا اللهَ الَّذِي أخرَجَكُمْ مِنْ أرْضِ مِصْرَ حَيثُ كُنتُمْ فِي العُبُودِيَّةِ.

13 T hou shalt fear the LORD thy God and serve him and shalt swear by his name.

«يَنبَغِي أنْ تَخَافُوا إلَهَكَمْ ، وَانْ تَسجُدُوا لَهُ وَحدَهُ، وَأنْ لا تَحلِفُوا إلّا بِاسْمِهِ.

14 Y e shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who are round about you

لا تَسِيرُوا وَراءَ آلِهَةٍ أُخْرَى مِنْ آلِهَةِ الشُّعُوبِ الَّتِي مِنْ حَولِكُمْ،

15 ( for the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest peradventure the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

لِأنَّ إلَهَكَمُ السّاكِنُ فِي وَسَطِكُمْ إلَهٌ غَيُّورٌ. فَاحرِصُوا عَلَى أنْ لا يَغْضَبَ عَلَيكُمْ فَيُفنِيَكُمْ مِنْ عَلَى وَجهِ الأرْضِ.

16 Y e shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

«لا تَمتَحِنُوا إلَهَكُمْ ، كَما امْتَحَنْتُمُوهُ فِي مَسَّةَ.

17 ¶ Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God and his testimonies and his statutes, which he has commanded thee.

بَلِ احفَظُوا وَصايا إلَهِكُمْ وَأحكامَهُ وَشَرائِعَهُ الَّتِي أوصاكُمْ بِها،

18 A nd thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD that it may be well with thee and that thou may enter in and inherit the good land which the LORD swore unto thy fathers

وَاعْمَلُوا الصَّلاحَ أمامَ اللهِ لِتَنجَحُوا وَتَدخُلُوا وَتَمتَلِكُوا الأرْضَ الجَيِّدَةَ الَّتِي أقسَمَ اللهُ لآبائِكُمْ بِأنْ يُعْطِيَها لَكُمْ،

19 s o that he will cast out all thine enemies from before thy presence, as the LORD has spoken.

بَعْدَ أنْ يَطْرَدَ أعداءَكُمْ مِنْ أمامِكُمْ، بِحَسَبِ ما وَعَدَكُمْ اللهُ. تَعلِيمُ الشَّرِيعَةِ للأبناء

20 A nd when tomorrow thy son asks thee, saying, What are the testimonies and the statutes and the rights, which the LORD our God has commanded you?

«وَفِي المُستَقبَلِ، حِينَ يَسألُكَ ابْنُكَ: ‹ما مَعنَى الأحكامِ وَالشَّرائِعِ وَالفَرائِضِ الَّتِي أوصاكُمْ إلهُنا بِها؟›

21 T hen thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt, and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand;

قُلْ لَهُ: ‹كُنّا عَبِيداً لِمَلِكِ مِصْرَ، لَكِنَّ اللهَ أخرَجَنا مِنها بِقُوَّتِهِ العَظِيمَةِ.

22 a nd the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and sore, in Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes;

وَعَمِلَ اللهُ أمامَ عُيُونِنا آياتٍ وَعَجائِبَ عَظِيمَةً وَرَهِيبَةً ضِدَّ مِصْرَ وَمَلِكِها وَكُلِّ أهلِ بَيتِهِ.

23 a nd he brought us out from there that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he swore unto our fathers.

وَأخرَجَنا مِنْ هُناكَ لِيُحضِرَنا إلَى الأرْضِ الَّتِي أقسَمَ لآبائِنا أنْ يُعطِيها لَنا.

24 A nd the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes that we might fear the LORD our God for our good always that he might give us life, as it is at this day.

فَأوصانا اللهُ أنْ نُطِيعَ كُلَّ هَذِهِ الشَّرائِعِ وَأنْ نَهابَ إلَهَنا. كُلُّ هَذا لِخَيرِنا دائِماً، وَلِكَيْ يَحفَظَنا أحياءً، كَما هُوَ الحالُ الآنَ.

25 A nd we shall have justice when we keep ourselves by doing all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.

وَسَنُحسَبُ أبْراراً إنْ حَرِصنا عَلَى إطاعَةِ جَمِيعِ هَذِهِ الوَصايا كَما أمَرَنا إلَهُنا.›»
