1 ¶ Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in the Mount Moriah which had been shown unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan, the Jebusite.

وَبَدَأ سُلَيْمانُ فِي بِناءِ بَيتِ اللهِ فِي القُدسِ فِي جَبَلِ المُرِيّا حَيثُ كانَ اللهُ قَدْ ظَهَرَ لِأبيه داوُدَ. وَهُوَ المَكانُ الَّذِي سَبَقَ أنْ أعَدَّهُ داوُدُ فِي بَيدَرِ أُرْنانَ اليَبُوسيِّ.

2 A nd he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.

بَدَأ سُلَيْمانُ العَمَلَ فِي اليَومِ الثّانِي مِنَ الَّشَّهرِ الثّاني مِنَ السَّنَةِ الرّابِعَةِ لِتَوَلّيهِ الحُكمَ.

3 N ow these are the measurements on which Solomon founded the building of the house of God. The first measurement was the length of sixty cubits and the breadth of twenty cubits.

وَهَذِهِ هِيَ القياساتُ الَّتِي استَخدَمَها سُلَيْمانُ فِي بِناءِ أساسِ بَيتِ الله: كانَ طُولُ الأساسِ سِتِّينَ ذِراعاً وَعَرضُهُ عِشرِينَ ذِراعاً. وَقَدِ استُخْدِمَتْ وِحْدَةُ الذِّراعِ القَدِيمَةِ لِلقِياسِ.

4 A nd the porch that was in the front of the length was of twenty cubits, according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height was one hundred and twenty; and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

كانَ طُولُ الدِّهلِيزِ الَّذِي أمامَ الهَيكَلِ عِشرِينَ ذِراعاً وَارتِفاعُهُ عِشرِينَ ذِراعاً. وَغَشَّى سُلَيْمانُ الجِدارَ الداخِلِيِّ لِلدِّهلِيزِ بِذَهَبٍ نَقِيٍّ.

5 A nd the greater house he covered with fir wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and set thereon palm trees and chains.

وَوَضَعَ سُلَيْمانُ ألواحاً مِنَ خَشَبِ السَّروِ عَلَى جُدرانِ الحُجْرَةِ الكُبْرَى، وَغَشّاها بذَهَبٍ نَقِيٍّ، وَنَقَشَ عَلَيها صُوَراً لِأشجارِ نَخِيلٍ وَسَلاسِلَ.

6 A nd he also covered the house with precious stones for beauty, and the gold was gold of Parvaim.

وَزَيَّنَ سُلَيْمانُ الهَيكَلَ بِحِجارَةٍ كَرِيمَةٍ. وَقَدِ اسْتَوْرَدَ سُلَيْمانُ الذَّهَبَ الَّذِي استَخدَمَهُ مِنْ فَروايِمَ.

7 T hus did he cover the house, its beams, its posts, its walls, and its doors, with gold and engraved cherubim on the walls.

وَغَشَّى سُلَيْمانُ الهَيكَلَ بِالذَّهَبِ مِنَ الدّاخِلِ. غَشِّى جُسُورَ السَّقفِ وَالأعتابِ وَالجُدرانِ وَالأبوابِ بِالذَّهَبِ. وَنَقَشَ صُوَراً لِمَلائِكَةِ الكَرُوبِيمَ عَلَى الجُدرانِ.

8 A nd he made the house of the holy of holies, its length was twenty cubits, according to the breadth of the house, and its breadth was twenty cubits, and he covered it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.

ثُمَّ عَمِلَ سُلَيْمانُ قُدسَ الأقداسِ. فَكانَ طُولُهُ عِشرِينَ ذِراعاً وَعَرضُهُ عِشرِينَ ذِراعاً. فَكانَ عَرضُهُ بِعَرضِ الهَيكَلِ. وَغَشَّى سُلَيْمانُ جُدرانَ قُدسِ الأقداسِ بِذَهَبٍ نَقِيٍّ بَلَغَ وَزنُهُ سِتَّ مِئِةِ قِنْطارٍ.

9 A nd the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.

وَبَلَغَ وَزنُ مَسامِيرِ الذَّهَبِ خَمسِينَ مِثْقالاً. وَغَشَّى سُلَيْمانُ الغُرَفَ العُلْوِيَّةَ بِالذَّهَبِ.

10 ¶ And inside the house of the holy of holies he made two cherubim of figured work and overlaid them with gold.

وَصَنَعَ سُلَيْمانُ تِمْثالَينِ لِمَلاكَينِ كَرُوبَيْنَ فِي قُدسِ الأقداسِ، وَغَشّاهُما بِالذَّهَبِ.

11 A nd the wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits long; one wing of the one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.

وَكانَ طُولُ كُلِّ جَناحٍ مِنْ أجنِحَةِ الكَرُوبِينَ خَمسَ أذرُعٍ، وَمَجمُوعُ أطوالِها عِشرِينَ ذِراعاً. كانَ الجَناحُ الأوَّلُ مُمتَدّاً لِيَلمِسَ الجِدارَ عَلَى الجانِبِ الآخَرِ مِنَ الغُرفَةِ. أمّا الجَناحُ الآخَرُ فَيَلمِسُ جَناحَ الكَرُوبِ الآخَرِ.

12 A nd one wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was five cubits also, joining to the wing of the other cherub.

وَكانَ الجَناحُ الآخَرُ لِلكَرُوبِ الثّانِي، وَطُولُهُ خَمسَ أذرُعٍ، يَلمَسُ الجِدارَ الآخَرَ عَلَى الجانِبِ الآخَرِ مِنَ الحُجْرَةِ.

13 T he wings of these cherubim spread themselves forth twenty cubits, and they stood on their feet, and their faces were inward.

فَكانَ مَجمُوعُ أطوالِ أجنِحَةِ الكَرُوبَينِ المُنْبَسِطَةِ عِشرِينَ ذِراعاً. وَكانَتْ عُيُونُهُما تَتَّجِهُ إلَى الدّاخِلِ نَحوَ قُدسِ الأقداسِ.

14 A nd he made the veil of blue and purple and crimson and fine linen and wrought cherubim thereon.

وَعَمِلَ سُلَيْمانُ السِّتارَةَ مِنْ أقمِشَةٍ زَرقاءَ وَأُرجُوانيَّةٍ وَحَمراءَ وَكِتّانٍ فاخِرٍ. وَرَسَمَ عَلَى السِّتارَةِ مَلائِكَةَ كَرُوبِيمَ.

15 A lso he made in front of the house two pillars of thirty-five cubits high, and the chapiter that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

وَنَصَبَ سُلَيْمانُ عَمُودَينِ أمامَ الهَيكَلِ طُولُ كُلٍّ مِنها خَمسٌ وَثَلاثُونَ ذراعاً. وَكانَ طُولُ تاجَي العَمُودَينِ خَمسَ أذرُعٍ.

16 A nd he made chains, as in the oracle, and put them on the heads of the pillars and made one hundred pomegranates and put them on the chains.

وَصَنَعَ داوُدُ سَلاسِلَ عَلى شَكلِ قِلادَةٍ، وَوَضَعَ السَّلاسِلَ عَلَى مُحِيطِ تاجَي العَمُودَينِ. وَصَنَعَ سُلَيْمانُ مِئَةَ رُمّانَةٍ وَوَضَعَها عَلَى السَّلاسِلِ.

17 A nd he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand and the other on the left, and called the name of the one on the right hand Jachin, and the name of the one on the left Boaz.

ثُمَّ نَصَبَ العَمُودَينِ أمامَ الهَيكَلِ. فَكانَ أحَدُهُما عَلَى الجانِبِ الأيمَنِ، وَالآخَرُ عَلَى الجانِبِ الأيسَرِ. وَسَمَّى العَمُودَ الأيْمَنَ «ياكِينَ،» وَالأيسَرَ «بُوعَزَ.»
