1 ¶ ALEPH. Blessed are those who walk in the perfect way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

هَنِيئاً لِمَنْ يَعِيشُونَ فِي طَهارَةٍ، الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ تَعالِيمَ اللهِ.

2 B lessed are those that keep his testimonies and that seek him with their whole heart.

هَنِيئاً لِمَنْ يَحفَظُونَ وَصاياهُ، وَيَطلُبُونَهُ مِنْ كُلِّ قُلُوبِهِمْ.

3 F or those who do no iniquity walk in his ways.

لا يَصنَعُونَ الشَّرَّ أبَداً. بَلْ يَتَّبِعُونَ طُرُقَهُ.

4 ¶ Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.

أعطَيتَنا وَصاياكَ، وَأمَرتَنا بِأنْ نَحفَظَها بِدِقَّةٍ.

5 O that my ways were ordered to keep thy statutes!

آهِ، لَيتَنِي كُنتُ أكثَرَ ثَباتاً فِي حِفظِ شَرائِعِكَ.

6 T hen I shall not be ashamed, when I have insight unto all thy commandments.

حَينَئِذٍ لا أخْجَلُ بَلْ أتَأمَّلُ جَميعَ وَصاياكَ.

7 ¶ I will praise thee with uprightness of heart when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

مِنْ قَلبٍ نَقِيٍّ أحمَدُكَ لأنَّكَ عَلَّمتَنِي أحكامَكَ المُنصِفَةَ.

8 I will keep thy statutes; O do not utterly forsake me.

لا تَترُكنِي طَوِيلاً لأنِّي أُطِيعُ شَرائِعَكَ حَقّاً. — ب —

9 ¶ BETH. With what shall a young man cleanse his way? when he shall keep thy word.

كَيفَ يُنَقِّي الشّابُّ نَفسَهُ؟ بِحِفْظِهِ وَصاياكَ.

10 ¶ With my whole heart I have sought thee; O let me not err from thy commandments.

مِنْ كُلِّ قَلبِي أطلُبُكَ، فَاحفَظْنِي مِنْ أنْ أضِلَّ عَنْ وَصاياكَ.

11 ¶ Thy spoken word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

خَزَّنتُ كَلامَكَ فِي قَلبِي لِئَلّا أُخطِئَ إلَيكَ.

12 ¶ Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.

تَبارَكْ، يا اللهُ. عَلِّمْنِي شَرائِعَكَ.

13 ¶ With my lips I have declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

بِشَفَتَيَّ أُخبِرُ بِكُلِّ الأحكامِ الخارِجَةِ مِنْ فَمِكَ.

14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies as above all riches.

بِوَصايا عَهدِكَ أُسَرُّ، كَمَنْ يَبتَهِجُ بِثَروَةٍ عَظِيمَةٍ.

15 I will meditate in thy precepts and consider thy ways.

أحكامُكَ أتَأمَّلُها وَطُرُقُكَ بِحِرصٍ أفحَصُها.

16 I will delight myself in thy statutes; I will not forget thy words.

شَرائِعُكَ لَذَّتِي، وَلا أنْسَى كَلامَكَ أبَداً. — ج —

17 ¶ GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy slave that I may live and keep thy word.

كافِئْ عَبدَكَ بِسَخاءٍ، فَأحيا وَأحفَظَ وَصاياكَ.

18 ¶ Open my eyes, and I shall behold the wonders of thy law.

افتَحْ عَينَيَّ حَتَّى أرَى عَجائِبَ تَعالِيمِكَ.

19 ¶ I am a stranger in the earth; hide not thy commandments from me.

غَرِيبٌ أنا فِي هَذِهِ الأرْضِ، فَلا تُخْفِ وَصاياكَ عَنِّي.

20 ¶ My soul is broken from desiring thy judgments at all times.

تَلتَهِبُ نَفسِي شَوقاً إلَى أحكامِ شَرِيعَتِكَ فِي كُلِّ حِينٍ.

21 ¶ Thou hast reprehended the proud; cursed are those who err from thy commandments.

أنتَ تُوَبِّخُ المُتَكَبِّرِينَ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَنْ وَصاياكَ. مَلعُونُونَ هُمْ!

22 ¶ Remove from me reproach and contempt, for I have kept thy testimonies.

حَفِظْتُ عَهدَكَ، فَانزِعْ عَنِّي الهُزءَ وَالازدِراءَ.

23 ¶ Princes also sat and spoke against me as thy slave spoke according to thy statutes.

قادَةٌ قَدْ يَجلِسُونَ لِيَتَآمَرُوا عَلَيَّ، وَأنا عَبدَكَ أتَامَّلُ فِي أحكامِكَ.

24 ¶ For thy testimonies are my delight and my counsellors.

أتَلَذَّذُ بِوَصايا عَهدِكَ. تَعالِيمُكَ هِيَ نَصائِحِي. — د —

25 ¶ DALETH. My soul cleaves unto the dust; quicken me according to thy word.

أمّا الآنَ، فَأنا عَلَى وَشَكِ المَوتِ، فَأحْيِنِي كَوَعدِكَ.

26 ¶ I have declared my ways, and thou didst hear me; teach me thy statutes.

لَكَ اعتَرَفتُ بِطُرُقِي فَاسْتَجَبْتَ. فَعَلِّمنِي أحكامَكَ.

27 M ake me to understand the way of thy precepts; so I shall meditate of thy wondrous works.

فَهِّمْنِي كَيفَ أحفَظُ وَصاياكَ، وَسَأتَأمَّلُ فِي أعْمالِكَ العَجِيبَةِ.

28 ¶ My soul melts for heaviness; strengthen me according to thy word.

مُتعَبٌ وَكَئِيبٌ أنا، فَارفَعْنِي بِحَسَبِ وَعدِكَ.

29 R emove from me the way of lying, and from thy law grant me mercy.

مِنَ الطُّرُقِ المُخادِعَةِ احفَظْنِي، وَأنعِمْ عَلَيَّ بِشَرِيعَتِكَ.

30 ¶ I have chosen the way of truth; I have laid thy judgments before me.

اختَرتُ أنْ أكُونَ وَفِيّاً لَكَ، أتَفَحَّصُ بِدِقَّةٍ أحكامَكَ.

31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies; O LORD, put me not to shame.

بِعَهدِكَ تَعَلَّقتُ، يا اللهُ ، فَلا تُذِلَّنِي!

32 I will run the way of thy commandments when thou shalt enlarge my heart.

طاعَةُ وَصاياكَ مُتعَتِي لأنَّكَ تُفَرِّحُ قَلبِي! — ه —

33 ¶ HE. Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes, and I shall keep it unto the end.

يا اللهُ ، عَلِّمْنِي شَرائِعَكَ وَبِثَباتٍ سَأتبَعُها.

34 G ive me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

أعطِنِي فَهماً لأُطِيعَ تَعالِيمَكَ، لِكَي أتبَعَها مِنَ القَلبِ.

35 ¶ Make me to go in the path of thy commandments, for therein do I delight.

اهدِنِي عَبرَ سُبُلِ وَصاياكَ لأنِّي بِها أتَلَذَّذُ.

36 I ncline my heart unto thy testimonies and not to covetousness.

حَوِّلْ قَلبِي إلَى وَصايا عَهدِكَ، لا إلَى الغِنَى وَالمَكْسَبِ.

37 ¶ Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity, and cause me to live in thy way.

حَوِّلْ عَينَيَّ عَنِ التَّوافِهِ. أعِنِّي فَأحيا كَما تُرِيدُ.

38 ¶ Confirm thy word unto thy slave, who is devoted to thy fear.

احفَظْ وُعُودَكَ لِي، أنا عَبدَكَ، تِلكَ الوُعُودَ الَّتِي تَجْعَلُ النّاسَ يُوَقِّرُونَكَ.

39 ¶ Turn away my reproach which I have feared, for thy judgments are good.

انزَعِ العارَ الَّذِي أخشاهُ، لأنَّ أحكامَ شَرِيعَتِكَ صالِحَةٌ.

40 ¶ Behold, I have longed after thy precepts; cause me to live in thy righteousness.

ها أنا أتُوقُ لِشَرائِعِكَ، فَأرِنِي مَراحِمَكَ لِكَي أحيا! — و —

41 ¶ VAU. Let thy mercy come unto me, O LORD, even thy salvation, according to thy spoken word.

أرِنِي يا اللهُ رَحمَتَكَ وَمَحَبَّتَكَ. أنقِذنِي كَوَعدِكَ.

42 A nd I shall answer him that reproaches me, by saying that I trust in thy word.

عِندَئِذٍ سَأُجاوِبُ الَّذِينَ يُعيِّرُونَنِي، لأنِّي بِكَلامِكَ أثِقُ!

43 ¶ And take not at any time the word of truth out of my mouth; for I wait for thy judgment.

أعِنِّي فَأتَكَلَّمَ دَوماً بِحَقِّ كَلِمَتِكَ، فَإنِّي عَلَى أحكامِكَ مُتَوَكِّلٌ.

44 S o shall I keep thy law continually from age to age.

إلَى الأبَدِ وَالدَّهرِ سَأتَّبِعُ أحكامَكَ.

45 ¶ And I will walk at liberty, for I sought thy commandments.

لأنِّي فِي رُحْبٍ سَأحيا، لأنِّي أسعَى إلَى حِفظِ أحكامِكَ.

46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings and will not be ashamed.

سَأُحَدِّثُ مُلُوكاً بِعَهدِكَ بِجَسارَةٍ وَبِلا خَجَلٍ.

47 A nd I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.

وَبِوَصاياكَ الَّتِي أُحِبُّ سَأتَلَذَّذُ.

48 I will lift up My hands unto thy commandments, which I have loved, and I will meditate in thy statutes.

أقسَمْتُ عَلَى الوَلاءِ لِوَصاياكَ الَّتِي أُحِبُّ، وَسَأتَفَكَّرُ فِي شَرائِعِكَ. — ز —

49 ¶ ZAIN. Remember the word unto thy slave, in which thou hast caused me to wait.

اذكُرْ وَعدَكَ لِي، أنا عَبدَكَ، فَلِي بِهِ رَجاءٌ.

50 ¶ This is my comfort in my affliction; for thy spoken word has caused me to live.

فِي مُعاناتِي، هَذِهِ هِيَ تَعزِيَتِي. وُعُودُكَ تُحيِينِي!

51 ¶ The proud have had me greatly in derision; yet I have not deviated from thy law.

المُتَكَبِّرُونَ سَخِرُوا بِي كَثِيراً، لَكِنِّي لا أنْحَرِفُ عَنْ وَصاياكَ أبَداً.

52 ¶ I remembered thy judgments of old, O LORD, and have consoled myself.

أحكامُكَ القَدِيمَةُ، يا اللهُ ، أذكُرُها، فَأتَعَزَّى.

53 ¶ Horror has taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law.

يُخِيفُنِي أُولَئِكَ الأشرارُ، الَّذِينَ تَرَكُوا تَعالِيمَكَ.

54 ¶ Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.

كَالمُوسِيقَى فِي بَيتِي هِيَ شَرائِعُكَ.

55 ¶ I have remembered thy name, O LORD, in the night, and have kept thy law.

فِي اللَّيلِ أتَذَكَّرُ اسْمَكَ يا اللهُ ، وَشَرِيعَتَكَ أحفَظُ.

56 T his I had, because I kept thy precepts.

يَحدُثُ هَذا لِي، لأنِّي أحفَظُ أحكامَكَ. — ح —

57 ¶ CHETH My portion, O LORD, I have said, will be to keep thy words.

أنتَ نَصِيبِي يا اللهُ. لِذا صَمَّمتُ أنْ أُطِيعَ وَصاياكَ.

58 ¶ I intreated thy presence with my whole heart; be merciful unto me according to thy word.

بِكُلِّ كَيانِي أشتَهِي أنْ أخدِمَكَ، فَارحَمْنِي كَوَعدِكَ.

59 ¶ I considered my ways and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.

تَأمَّلتُ خَطَواتِي، لِكَي أُعِيدَها إلَى شَرائِعِكَ.

60 I made haste and did not delay to keep thy commandments.

سارَعتُ إلَى حِفظِ وَصاياكَ وَلَمْ أُبطِئْ.

61 ¶ The company of the wicked have robbed me, but I have not forgotten thy law.

مَصائِدُ الأشرارِ تَتَرَبَّصُ بِي، لَكِنِّي لا أنسَى أبَداً تَعالِيمَكَ.

62 ¶ At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of the judgments of thy righteousness.

فِي مُنتَصَفِ اللَّيلِ أصحُو، وَأنهَضُ لأشكُرَكَ عَلَى عَدلِ أحكامِكَ.

63 ¶ I am a companion of all those that fear thee and of those that keep thy precepts.

صَدِيقٌ أنا لِكُلِّ عابِدِيكَ الَّذِيِنَ يَهابُونَكَ، صَدِيقٌ لِكُلِّ الَّذِينَ يَحفَظُونَ وَصاياكَ.

64 ¶ The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy and teaches me thy statutes.

رَحمَتُكَ، يا اللهُ ، تَملأُ الأرْضَ. عَلِّمْنِي شَرائِعَكَ. — ط —

65 ¶ TETH. Thou hast dealt well with thy slave, O LORD, according unto thy word,

كُنْتَ، يا اللهُ ، كَرِيماً مَعَ عَبدِكَ، تَماماً كَوَعدِكَ.

66 w hich teaches me discernment and knowledge, for I have believed thy commandments.

عَلِّمْنِي التَّعَقُّلَ وَالمَعرِفَةَ، لأنِّي بِوَصاياكَ أثِقُ.

67 ¶ Before I was humbled, I went into error, but now I keep thy spoken word.

فَقَبلَ أنْ أعانيَ مِنَ الذُلِّ، كُنْتُ قَدْ تِهْتُ عَنْكَ. أمّا الآنَ فَسأُطيعُ كَلامَكَ.

68 ¶ Thou art good and doest good; teach me thy statutes.

كَرِيمٌ أنتَ وَصانِعٌ خَيْراً مَعَ النّاسِ، فَعَلِّمنِي وَصاياكَ.

69 ¶ The proud have forged a lie against me, but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.

المُتَفاخِرُونَ حاكُوا حَولِي كَذِباً، غَيرَ أنِّي حَفِظتُ وَصاياكَ مِنَ القَلبِ.

70 T heir heart became fat like grease, but I delight in thy law.

أغبِياءُ هُمْ! أمّا أنا فَأتَلَذَّذُ بِتَعالِيمِكَ.

71 ¶ It was good for me that I have been humbled, that I might learn thy statutes.

حَسَنٌ أنِّنَي تَذَلَّلْتُ، إذْ تَعَلَّمتُ شَرائِعَكَ.

72 ¶ The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.

صالِحَةٌ هِيَ تَعالِيمُكَ لِي. هِيَ أثمَنُ مِنْ ألفِ قِطعَةٍ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالفِضَّةِ. — ي —

73 ¶ JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me; give me understanding, and I shall learn thy commandments.

يَداكَ صَنَعَتانِي وَهُما تَسنِدانِنِي. أعِنِّي فَأتَعَلَّمَ وَأفهَمَ وَصاياكَ.

74 ¶ Those that fear thee will be glad when they see me because I have waited on thy word.

خائِفُوكَ يَرَونَنِي فَيَفرَحُونَ، لأنِّي عَلَى كَلِمَتِكَ أتَّكِلُ.

75 ¶ I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.

يَقِينِي، يا اللهُ ، أنَّ أحكامَكَ مُنصِفَةٌ، وَأنَّ عِقابَكَ لِي كانَ صَواباً.

76 ¶ Let, I pray thee, thy mercy be for my comfort, according to thy spoken word unto thy slave.

أمّا الآنَ فَعَزِّنِي بِرَحمَتِكَ. كَما وَعَدتَ عَبدَكَ.

77 L et thy mercy come unto me, that I may live, for thy law is my delight.

لِتُقابِلْنِي رَحمَتُكَ فَأحيا فَأنا أتَلَذَّذُ بِتَعالِيمِكَ.

78 ¶ Let the proud be ashamed, for they dealt perversely with me without a cause, but I will meditate in thy precepts.

لِيُخزَ هَؤُلاءِ المُنتَفِخُونَ لأنَّهُمْ ظُلماً اتَّهَمُونِي. أمّا أنا فَتَأمَّلتُ فَرائِضَكَ.

79 L et those that fear thee turn unto me and those that have known thy testimonies.

لِيتَ عابِدِيكَ وَعارِفِي عَهدِكَ يَرجِعُونَ إلَيَّ.

80 ¶ Let my heart be perfect in thy statutes that I not be ashamed.

أعِنِّي فَأُخْلِصَ لِشَرائِعِكَ، فَلا أُخزَى أبَداً. — ك —

81 ¶ CAPH. My soul faints with desire for thy salvation as I await thy word.

أتَحَرَّقُ شَوقاً لِخَلاصِكَ. مُنتَظِرٌ أنا واضِعاً فِي كَلامِكَ رَجائِي!

82 M ine eyes fail for thy spoken word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?

كَلَّتْ عَينايَ انتِظاراً لأمرِكَ، فَمَتَى سَتُعَزِّينِي؟

83 ¶ For I am become like a wine skin in the smoke; yet I have not forgotten thy statutes.

حَتَّى عِندَما أُصبِحُ عَجُوزاً كَإناءِ خَمرٍ قَدِيمٍ عَلَى كَوْمَةِ قُمامَةٍ، لَنْ أنسَى شَرائِعَكَ.

84 ¶ How many are the days of thy slave? When wilt thou execute judgment on those that persecute me?

حَتَّى مَتَى يَحيا عَبدُكَ قَبلَ أنْ تَقتَصَّ مِنْ مُضطَهِدِيَّ؟

85 ¶ The proud have dug pits for me, but they do not proceed according to thy law.

المُتَغَطرِسُونَ أقامُوا لِي كَمائِنَ. عَلَى نَقِيضِ شَرِيعَتِكَ تَصَرَّفُوا.

86 A ll thy commandments are of the same truth; they persecute me wrongfully; help me.

اضطَهَدُونِي بِلا سَبَبٍ. كُلُّ وَصاياكَ يُعتَمَدُ عَلَيها، فَأعِنِّي يا اللهُ!

87 T hey have almost consumed me upon earth, but I have not forsaken thy precepts.

كادَ هَؤُلاءِ أنْ يُمِيتُونِي، وَأنا ما تَوَقَّفتُ يَوماً عَنْ طاعَةِ وَصاياكَ.

88 ¶ Cause me to live according to thy mercy, so I shall keep the testimony of thy mouth.

أحيِنِي بِرَحمَتِكَ، فَأحفَظَ الوَصايا الَّتِي أعطَيتَها. — ل —

89 ¶ LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in the heavens.

إلَى الأبَدِ سَتَثبُتُ كَلِمَتُكَ فِي السَّماءِ، يا اللهُ.

90 T hy truth is from generation to generation; thou hast established the earth, and it perseveres.

تَظَلُّ أمانَتُكَ جِيلاً بَعدَ جِيلٍ! فَقَدْ أسَّستَ الأرْضَ، وَها هِيَ قائِمَةٌ.

91 T hey persevere unto this day by thy ordinance; for they are all thy slaves.

كُلُّ شَيءٍ قائِمٌ اليَومَ بِفَضلِ عَدلِكَ، لأنَّ كُلَّ شَيءٍ يَخدِمُكَ.

92 ¶ Unless thy law had been my delight, I should have perished in my affliction.

لَولا أنَّ تَعالِيمَكَ هِيَ مَسَرَّتِي لَهَلَكْتُ فِي آلامِي وَمُعاناتِي.

93 ¶ I will never forget thy precepts; for with them thou hast caused me to live.

وَصاياكَ لَنْ أنساها لأنِّي بِسَبَبِها حَيِيتُ.

94 ¶ I am thine, keep me; for I have sought thy precepts.

لَكَ أنا فَأنقِذنِي، لأنِّي أشتَهِي أنْ أُطِيعَ وَصاياكَ.

95 ¶ The wicked have waited for me to destroy me, but I will consider thy testimonies.

أمِلَ الأشرارُ أنْ يُهلِكُونِي، لَكِنِّي ظَلَلتُ أُحاوِلُ فَهمَ عَهدِكَ.

96 ¶ I have seen an end of all perfection, but thy commandment is exceeding broad.

أدرَكتُ أنَّ لِكُلِّ شَيءٍ حُدُودَهُ، أمّا وَصاياكَ فَلا حُدُودَ لَها! — م —

97 ¶ MEM. O how I love thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

آهِ كَمْ أُحِبُّ تَعالِيمَكَ، كُلَّ الوَقتِ أتَأمَّلُها.

98 ¶ Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies, for they are eternal unto me.

وَصاياكَ تَجعَلُنِي أحكَمَ مِنْ أعدائِي لأنَّها دائِماً مَعِي.

99 I have more understanding than all my teachers, for thy testimonies have been my meditation.

جَعَلْتَنِي أعقَلَ حَتَّى مِنْ كُلِّ مُعَلِّمِيَّ لأنِّي أتَفَكَّرُ فِي عَهدِكَ.

100 I understand more than the elders because I keep thy precepts.

أحكَمُ مِنَ الشُّيُوخِ أنا لأنِّي أُطِيعُ وَصاياكَ.

101 ¶ I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.

مَنَعْتُ نَفسِي عَنْ عَمَلِ الشَّرِّ لِكَي أُطِيعَ وَصاياكَ.

102 ¶ I have not departed from thy judgments, for thou hast taught me.

لَمْ أنْحَرِفْ عَنْ أحْكامِكَ، لأنَّكَ عَلَّمتَنِي إيّاها!

103 ¶ How sweet have been thy spoken words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

ما أحلَى كَلامَكَ! أحلَى مِنَ العَسَلِ فِي فَمِي!

104 T hrough thy precepts I have obtained understanding; therefore I have hated every false way.

تَجعَلُنِي تَعالِيمُكَ حَكِيماً، لِذا أُبغِضُ الباطِلَ. — ن —

105 ¶ NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my way.

كَمِصباحٍ لِقَدَمَيَّ كَلامُكَ، يُنِيرُ سَبِيلِي.

106 ¶ I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep the judgments of thy righteousness.

نَذَرتُ أنْ أحفَظَ أحكامَكَ المُنصِفَةَ، وَسَأُوفِي.

107 ¶ I am afflicted very much; cause me to live, O LORD, according to thy word.

كَثِيراً ما عانَيتُ يا اللهُ ، فَأحْيِنِي بِحَسَبِ وَعدِكَ.

108 ¶ Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments.

اقبَلْ حَمدِيَ يا اللهُ ، وَشَرائِعَكَ عَلِّمنِي.

109 ¶ My soul is continually in my hand; yet I do not forget thy law.

أحمِلُ رُوحِي دائِماً عَلَى راحَتِي، لِكَي لا أنسَى أبَداً تَعالِيمَكَ.

110 T he wicked have laid a snare for me; yet did not I err from thy precepts.

نَصَبَ الأشرارُ لِي مَصائِدَ، لَكِنِّي لَمْ أعْصِ وَصاياكَ.

111 ¶ I have taken thy testimonies as a heritage for ever; for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

إلَى الأبَدِ سَأتَّبِعُ عَهدَكَ، لأنِّي أتَلَذَّذُ بِهِ.

112 I have inclined my heart to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end.

سَأُكَرِّسُ قَلبِي عَلَى الدَّوامِ لِطاعَةِ شَرائِعِكَ حَتَّى النِّهايَةِ! — س —

113 ¶ SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts; but I love thy law.

أَكْرَهُ أفكارَ المُتَقَلقِلِينَ. أمّا تَعالِيمُكَ فَأُحِبُّها.

114 ¶ Thou art my hiding place and my shield; I have waited for thy word.

سِتْرِي أًنتَ وَتُرسِي، بِكَلامِكَ أثِقُ.

115 ¶ Depart from me, ye evildoers; for I will keep the commandments of my God.

ابتَعِدُوا عَنِّي أيُّها الأشرارُ فَأحفَظَ وَصايا إلَهِي.

116 ¶ Uphold me according unto thy word, and I shall live; and let me not be ashamed of my hope.

أسْنِدْنِي حَسَبَ وَعدِكَ فَأحيا، وَلا تَخذِلنِي فِي آمالِي.

117 H old me up, and I shall be saved, and I shall delight in thy statutes continually.

أسْنِدْنِي فَأَنجُوَ، وَألتَزِمَ بِشَرائِعِكَ كُلَّ حَياتِي.

118 ¶ Thou hast trodden down all those that err from thy statutes; for their deceit is falsehood.

تَرفُضُ الَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَ عَنْ شَرائِعِكَ وَتُظهِرُ خِداعَهُمْ.

119 T hou dost cause all the wicked of the earth to come undone like dross; therefore I have loved thy testimonies.

أنتَ تَنبُذُ كُلَّ أشْرارِ الأرْضِ كَالنِّفايَةِ. لِذا أُحِبُّ وَصايا عَهدِكَ.

120 M y flesh trembles for fear of thee, and I am afraid of thy judgments.

جِسْمِي يَرتَعِدُ خَوفاً، فَأنا أخافُ وَأُوَقِّرُ أحكامَكَ. — ع —

121 ¶ AIN. I have complied with judgment and righteousness; do not leave me to my oppressors.

عادِلاً وَمُنصِفاً كُنتُ، فَلا تَترُكْنِي فِي أيدِي ظالِمِيَّ.

122 B e surety for thy slave for good; do not let the proud do violence unto me.

اضْمَنْ خَيْرَ عَبْدِكَ. لا تَسمَحْ للمُتَغَطرِسِينَ بِأنْ يَظلِمُونِي.

123 ¶ Mine eyes fail for thy saving health and for the spoken word of thy righteousness.

كَلَّتْ عَينايَ مِنِ انتِظارِ خَلاصِكَ وَانتِظارِ وَعدِكَ البارِّ.

124 ¶ Deal with thy slave according to thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.

عامِلْ عَبدَكَ حَسَبَ رَحْمَتِكَ، وَشَرائِعَكَ عَلِّمْنِي.

125 I am thy slave; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.

عَبدُكَ أنا، فَأعِنِّي عَلَى الفَهمِ لأعرِفَ عَهدَكَ.

126 ¶ It is time for thee, O LORD, to act; for they have dissipated thy law.

آنَ لَكَ أنْ تَفعَلَ شَيئاً يا اللهُ ، لأنَّ الشَّعبَ يَكسِرُونَ شَرِيعَتَكَ.

127 ¶ Therefore I have loved thy commandments above gold, yea, above fine gold.

لِهَذا السَّبَبِ، أُحِبُّ وَصاياكَ. أكثَرَ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالفِضَّةِ.

128 T herefore I have esteemed all thy precepts concerning all things to be right and I have hated every false way.

لِهَذا أُطِيعُ كُلَّ تَعالِيمِكَ، وَأُبغِضُ طُرُقَ الكَذِبِ. — ف —

129 ¶ PE. Thy testimonies are wonderful; therefore does my soul keep them.

عَجِيبٌ هُوَ عَهدُكَ، لِهَذا أحفَظُ كُلَّ وَصاياهُ.

130 ¶ The exposition of thy words gives light; it gives understanding unto the simple.

كَبابِ نُورٍ مَفتُوحٍ يُنِيرُ كَلامُكَ حَتَّى البُسَطاءُ يَفْهَمُونَهُ.

131 ¶ I opened my mouth and panted; for I longed for thy commandments.

ألهَثُ مُتَلَهِّفاً مُنتَظِراً أنْ أدرُسَ وَصاياكَ.

132 ¶ Look thou upon me and be merciful unto me, as thou didst use to do unto those that love thy name.

انتَبِهْ لِي وَعَزِّنِي كَعادَتِكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَكَ.

133 ¶ Order my steps with thy word; and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

كَما وَعَدتَ يا اللهُ اهدِنِي وَلا تَسمَحْ لِلشَّرِّ بِأنْ يَسُودَ عَلَيَّ.

134 ¶ Ransom me from the violence of men, and I will keep thy precepts.

مِنَ استِبدادِ النّاسِ خَلِّصْنِي، فَأُطِيعَ فَرائِضَكَ.

135 ¶ Make thy face to shine upon thy slave and teach me thy statutes.

أشرِقْ بِنُورِ حَضرَتِكَ عَلَى خادِمِكَ، وَفَهِّمْنِي أحْكامَكَ.

136 ¶ Rivers of waters ran down my eyes because they did not keep thy law.

جَداوِلُ دُمُوعٍ تَجرِي عَلَى وَجهِي لأنَّ شَعبَكَ لا يُطِيعُونَ تَعالِيمَكَ. — ص —

137 ¶ TZADDI. Righteous art thou, O LORD, and upright are thy judgments.

أنتَ يا اللهُ بارٌّ، وَأحكامُكَ مُنصِفَةٌ وَمُستَقِيمَةٌ.

138 T hou hast commanded righteousness, which consists of thy testimonies and thy truth.

العَهدُ الَّذِي قَطَعْتَهُ صالِحٌ وَجَدِيرٌ بِالثِّقَةِ.

139 ¶ My zeal has consumed me, because my enemies have forgotten thy words.

اشتَعَلْتُ غَيرَةً لأنَّ أعدائِي نَسُوا كَلامَكَ.

140 ¶ Thy word is very pure; therefore thy slave loves it.

قَدْ جَرَّبْتُ كَلامَكَ، وَعَبدُكَ أحَبَّهُ كَثِيراً.

141 ¶ I am small and despised; yet I have not forgotten thy precepts.

صَغِيرٌ أنا، وَرُبَّما الآخَرُونَ لا يَحتَرِمُونَنِي، لَكِنِّي لا أنسَى أبَداً وَصاياكَ.

142 ¶ Thy righteousness is eternal righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

خالِدٌ هٌوَ بِرُّكَ، وَتَعالِيمُكَ حَقَّةٌ وَمَوثُوقَةٌ.

143 ¶ Trouble and anguish found me; but thy commandments were my delights.

حَتَّى لَو لاقَتنِي مَصائِبُ وَضِيقاتٌ، فَسَأظَلُّ أجِدُ فِي وَصاياكَ مَسَرَّتِي.

144 T hy testimonies are eternal righteousness; give me understanding, and I shall live.

عُهُودُكَ صالِحَةٌ وَمُنصِفَةٌ إلَى الأبَدِ. أعِنِّي عَلَى فَهمِها فَأحيا. — ق —

145 ¶ KOPH. I cried with my whole heart; answer me, O LORD, and I will keep thy statutes.

شَرائِعُكَ أحفَظُها يا اللهُ. مِنْ كُلِّ قَلبِي دَعَوتُ، فَاسْتَجِبْ لِي!

146 I cried unto thee; save me, and I shall keep thy testimonies.

دَعَوتُكَ إلَى عَونِي فَأنقِذْنِي، لِكَي أحفَظَ عَهدَكَ.

147 ¶ I arose before the dawning of the morning and cried: I waited in thy word.

بَكَّرْتُ لِلصَّلاةِ إلَيكَ، عَلَى كَلِمَتِكَ أعتَمِدُ.

148 M y eyes anticipate the night watches that I might meditate in thy spoken word.

باكِراً صَحَوْتُ قَبلَ الفَجرِ، لِكَي أتَأمَّلَ كَلِمَتَكَ.

149 ¶ Hear my voice according to thy mercy; O LORD, cause me to live according to thy judgment.

استَمِعْ إلَيَّ حَسَبَ مَحَبَّتِكَ، وَبِعَدلِكَ أحيِنِي يا اللهُ.

150 ¶ Those that persecute me draw near unto evil; they have strayed from thy law.

الأشرارُ المُتَآمِرُونَ يَدنُونَ، عَنْ تَعالِيمِكَ ابتَعَدُوا.

151 T hou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth.

أمّا أنتَ، يا اللهُ ، فَقَرِيبٌ وَوَصاياكَ حَقَّةٌ وَمَوثُوقَةٌ.

152 ¶ Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.

وَأنا تَعَلَّمتُ مُنذُ زَمَنٍ بَعِيدٍ عَنْ شَهاداتِكَ، أنَّكَ إلَى الأبَدِ تَحفَظُها. — ر —

153 ¶ RESH. Consider my affliction and deliver me; for I have not forgotten thy law.

انظُرْ إلَى مُعاناتِي وَأنقِذْنِي، لأنِّي لَمْ أنسَ تَعالِيمَكَ.

154 P lead my cause and redeem me; quicken me according to thy spoken word.

حارِبْ حَربِي وَافدِنِي. أَحيِنِي بِحَسَبِ كَلِمَتِكَ.

155 ¶ Saving health is far from the wicked, for they do not seek thy statutes.

بَعِيدٌ هُوَ الخَلاصُ عَنِ الأشرارِ لأنَّهُمْ لا يُحاوِلُونَ حَتَّى أنْ يُطِيعُوا شَرائِعَكَ.

156 ¶ Many are thy tender mercies, O LORD: cause me to live according to thy judgments.

عَظِيمَةٌ هِيَ مَراحِمُكَ يا اللهُ ، فَأحْيِنِي بِعَدلِكَ.

157 ¶ Many are my persecutors and my enemies; yet I do not deviate from thy testimonies.

أعداءٌ كَثِيرُونَ يَضطَهِدُونَنِي، أمّا أنا فَلَمْ أضِلَّ عَنْ عَهدِكَ.

158 ¶ I beheld the transgressors and was grieved because they did not keep thy words.

أرَى الخَوَنَةَ الَّذِينَ لا يَحفَظُونَ كَلِمَتَكَ، فَأرفُضُهُمْ!

159 ¶ Consider, O LORD, that I love thy precepts; cause me to live according to thy mercy.

انظُرْ كَمْ أحبَبتُ وَصاياكَ. فَأحْيِنِي حَسَبَ رَحمَتِكَ.

160 ¶ The beginning of thy word is truth, and every one of the judgments of thy righteousness is eternal.

مُنذُ البَدءِ كَلامُكَ يُتَّكَلُ عَلَيهِ، وَأحكامُكَ العادِلَةُ إلَى الأبَدِ مَوثُوقَةٌ! — ش —

161 ¶ SCHIN. Princes have persecuted me without a cause, but my heart stands in awe of thy words.

بِلا سَبَبٍ هاجَمَنِي قادَةٌ أقوِياءُ، أمّا أنا فَلا أخافُ إلّا وَصاياكَ.

162 ¶ I rejoice at thy spoken word, as one that finds great spoil.

تُفَرِّحُنِي كَلِمَتُكَ، كَما يَفرَحُ مَنْ وَجَدَ كَنْزاً عَظِيماً.

163 ¶ I hate and abhor lying, but I love thy law.

الأكاذِيبَ أُبغِضُها وَأحتَقِرُها، أمّا تَعالِيمُكَ فَأُحِبُّها.

164 ¶ Seven times a day do I praise thee because of the judgments of thy righteousness.

سَبعَ مَرّاتٍ فِي اليَومِ أُسَبِّحُكَ عَلَى أحكامِكَ المُنصِفَةِ.

165 ¶ Those who love thy law have great peace, and nothing shall cause them to stumble.

يَنعَمُ مُحِبُّو تَعالِيمِكَ بِسَلامٍ عَظِيمٍ، وَما مِنْ شَيءٍ يَهزِمُهُمْ.

166 ¶ LORD, I have waited for thy saving health and done thy commandments.

خَلاصَكَ، يا اللهُ ، أنتَظِرُ، وَبِما أمَرْتَ أعمَلُ.

167 ¶ My soul has kept thy testimonies, and I have loved them exceedingly.

عَهدَكَ حَفِظتُهُ، وَأنا كَثِيراً أُحِبُّهُ.

168 I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies, for all my ways are before thee.

حَفِظتُ وَصاياكَ وَعَهدَكَ، وَها حَياتِي مَكشُوفَةٌ أمامَكَ. — ت —

169 ¶ TAU. Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD; give me understanding according to thy word.

لَيتَكَ، يا اللهُ ، تَنتَبِهُ إلَى تَرنِيمَتِي الفَرِحَةِ. أعطِنِي فَهماً كَوَعدِكَ.

170 L et my supplication come before thee; deliver me according to thy spoken word.

لَيتَكَ تَنتَبِهُ إلَى صَلاتِي. أنقِذْنِي بِحَسَبِ وَعدِكَ.

171 ¶ My lips shall overflow with praise when thou hast taught me thy statutes.

تَفِيضُ شَفَتايَ بِتَرانِيمِ التَّسبِيحِ، لأنَّكَ تُعَلِّمُنِي شَرائِعَكَ.

172 ¶ My tongue shall speak thy words; for all thy commandments are righteousness.

أعِنِّي فَاسْتَجِيبَ لِكَلامِكَ، فَكُلُّ وَصاياكَ صائِبَةٌ.

173 ¶ Let thine hand help me, for I have chosen thy precepts.

تَهَيَّأْ لِمَعُونَتِي لأنِّي اختَرتُ أنْ أُطِيعَ وَصاياكَ.

174 I have longed for thy saving health, O LORD, and thy law is my delight.

شَوقِي هُوَ إلَى خَلاصِكَ يا اللهُ. وَبِتَعلِيمِكَ أتَلَذَّذُ.

175 ¶ Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee, and let thy judgments help me.

أحْيِنِي فَتُسَبِّحَكَ نَفسِي. فَرائِضُكَ عَونِي.

176 ¶ I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy slave; for I have not forgotten thy commandments.

إنْ تُهتُ كَخَرُوفٍ ضالٍّ، فَتَعالَ يا اللهُ، وَجِدْ عَبدَكَ، فَأنا لَمْ أنْسَ وَصاياكَ.
