1 ¶ The burden of the desert of the sea. As the whirlwinds which pass through the wilderness in the land of the south, so they come from the terrible land.

هَذا وَحيٌ حَولَ بَرِّيَّةِ البَحرِ: هُناكَ شَيءٌ قادِمٌ مِنَ البَرِّيَّةِ، مِنْ أرْضٍ مُخِيفَةٍ، وَهُوَ كَرِيحٍ عاصِفَةٍ تَجتاحُ الجَنُوبَ.

2 A grievous vision is shown unto me. For one who is treacherous, another who deals treacherously, and for one destroyer, another destroyer. Rise up, Elam; besiege Media; all the sighing thereof I have made to cease.

رَأيتُ رُؤيا قاسِيَةً، رَأيتُ غادِرِينَ يَغدُرُونَ بِكِ، وَمُدَمِّرِينَ يُدَمِّرُونَكِ. اصعَدِي وَهاجِمِي يا عِيلامُ، حاصِرِي وَاهجُمِي يا مادِي، فَسَأُنهِي كُلَّ الأنِينِ الَّذِي سَبَّبَتهُ هَذِهِ المَدِينَةُ.

3 T herefore my loins are filled with pain; pangs have taken hold upon me as the pangs of a woman that travails; I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.

لِذَلِكَ امتَلأتَ خاصِرَتِي بِالألَمِ. أمسَكَنِي ألَمٌ كَألَمِ الوِلادَةِ. أنا أتَلَوَّى ألَماً بِسَبَبِ ما أسمَعُهُ، وَمُرتَعِبٌ بِسَبَبِ ما أراهُ.

4 M y heart panted; the horror frightened me; the night of my pleasure he has turned into fear unto me.

زالَتْ شَجاعَتِي، وَأنا أرتَجِفُ مِنَ الخَوفِ. لَيلَتِي السَّعِيدَةُ صارَتْ لَيلَةَ رُعبٍ.

5 P repare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink; arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.

فَقَدْ أعَدُّوا المَوائِدَ، وَزَّعُوا الحُرّاسَ، أكَلُوا وَشَرِبُوا. فَقُومُوا أيُّها القادَةُ الآنَ، وَنَظِّفُوا تُرُوسَكُمُ.

6 F or thus has the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman who shall declare what he sees.

لأنَّ الرَّبَّ قالَ لِي: «اذْهَبْ وَضَعْ حارِساً لِلمَدِينَةِ. وَلْيُخبِرْ بِما يَراهُ.

7 A nd he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; then he looked with more diligence;

عِندَما يَرَى مَركَباتٍ وَأزواجاً مِنَ الفُرسانِ، وَجُنُوداً راكِبِينَ عَلَى الحَمِيرِ وَالجِمالِ، فَليُصغِ وَليَنتَبِهْ جَيِّداً.»

8 a nd he cried, A lion upon the watchman. My lord, I stand continually all the day and all night long upon my watchtower.

ثُمَّ نادَى الحارِسُ مُحَذِّراً: يا رَبُّ، أنا أقِفُ عَلَى بُرجِ المُراقَبَةِ كُلَّ يَومٍ، واقِفُ فِي مَكانِ حِراسَتِي كُلَّ لَيلَةٍ.

9 A nd, behold, this chariot of men comes with a couple of horsemen. Afterwards he spoke and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he has broken unto the ground.

وَلَكِنْ ها أنا أرَى رَجُلاً يَركَبُ مَركَبَةً تَجُرُّها الخُيُولُ، وَأسمَعُ راكِبَ المَركَبَةِ يَصرُخُ: ‹سَقَطَتْ بابِلُ، سَقَطَتْ، وَأصنامُ آلِهَتِها حُطِّمَتْ عَلَى الأرْضِ.›»

10 O my harvest, and the people of my threshing floor, that which I have heard of the LORD of the hosts, the God of Israel, I have declared unto you.

يا شَعبِيَ المَسحُوقَ المُدُوسَ، ها قَدْ أخبَرْتُكُمْ بِما سَمِعْتُهُ مِنَ اللهِ القَدِيرِ، إلَهِ إسْرائِيلَ. رِسالَةُ اللهِ إلَى دُومَة

11 ¶ The burden of Dumah. He calls to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of this night? Watchman, what of this night?

هَذا وَحيٌ حَولَ دُومَةَ: هُناكَ مَنْ يُنادِينِي مِنْ سَعِيرَ: «يا حارِسُ، ماذا بَقِيَ مِنَ اللَّيلِ؟ يا حارِسُ، ماذا بَقِيَ مِنَ اللَّيلِ؟»

12 T he watchman said, The morning comes and then the night; if ye will enquire, enquire ye; return, and come.

فَيُجِيبُ الحارِسُ: «الصَّباحُ أتَى، وَاللَّيلُ سَيأتِي مِنْ جَدِيدٍ. إنْ أرَدْتُمْ أنْ تَطلُبُوا، فَاطلُبُوا الآنَ. تُوبوا وَارْجِعُوا.» رِسالَةُ اللهِ إلَى العَرَب

13 ¶ The burden upon Arabia. In the forest ye shall pass the night in Arabia, O ye walkers of Dedanim.

هَذا وَحيٌ حَولَ بِلادِ العَرَبِ: سَتَقضِينَ اللَّيلَةَ فِي غاباتِ بِلادِ العَرَبِ يا قَوافِلَ الدَّدانِيِّينَ.

14 G o ye out to meet them bringing water for the thirsty, O inhabitants of the land of Tema; succour those who are fleeing with your bread.

أحضِرُوا ماءً لِلِقاءِ العَطشانِ، يا سُكّانَ تَيماءَ، أحضِرُوا خُبزاً لإطعامِ الهارِبِينَ.

15 F or they flee from the presence of the sword, from the presence of the drawn sword, from the presence of the bent bow, from the presence of the grievousness of the battle.

هَرَبُوا مِنَ السُّيُوفِ، مِنَ السُّيُوفِ المَسلُولَةِ لِلقَتلِ. وَمِنَ الأقواسِ المَشدُودَةِ الجاهِزَةِ لِلإطلاقِ، وَمِنْ وَجهِ الحَربِ الشَّدِيدَةِ.

16 F or thus has the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, all the glory of Kedar shall be undone:

لأنَّهُ هَكَذا قالَ لِيَ الرَّبُّ: «فِي سَنَةٍ واحِدَةٍ فَقَطْ – وَفْقاً لِعَدَدِ أيّامِ سَنَةِ العامِلِ بِأجرٍ – سَيَزُولُ كُلُّ مَجدِ قِيدارَ،

17 A nd the residue of the number of valiant archers, sons of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel has spoken it.

أمّا النّاجُونَ مِنْ حَمَلَةِ الأقواسِ وَمِنْ مُحارِبِي قِيدارَ، فَسَيَكُونُونَ قَلِيلِينَ جِدّاً.» سَيَتِمُّ هَذا لأنَّ إلَهَ إسْرائِيلَ قَدْ تَكَلَّمَ.
