1 ¶ Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain, so the LORD shall make lightnings and shall give you abundant rain and grass in the field to each one.

اطلُبُوا مِنَ اللهِ مَطَرَ الرَّبِيعِ. اللهُ هُوَ صانِعُ البَرْقِ وَالأمطارِ. إنَّهُ يَسْتَخدِمُها لإنضاجِ مَحاصِيلِ البَشَرِ.

2 F or the idols have spoken vanity and the diviners have seen a lie and have told vain dreams; they comfort in vain; therefore they went their way like sheep; they were humbled because there was no shepherd.

لأنَّ الأوثانَ خَرْساءَ لا تَتَكّلَمُ حَقّاً، وَالعَرّافِينَ يَدَّعُونَ رُؤىً كاذِبَةً، وَالحالِمِينَ يُؤلِّفُونَ أحلامَهُمْ وَيُقَدِّمُونَ مَشُوراتٍ باطِلَةً. لِذَلِكَ ضّلَ شَعبِي كَغَنَمٍ لا رَاعِيَ لَها.

3 M y anger is kindled against the pastors, and I will visit the he goats, for the LORD of the hosts shall visit his flock, the house of Judah, and shall make them as his horse of honour in the battle.

يَقُولُ اللهُ: «قَدِ اشتَعَلَ غَضَبِي عَلَى الرُّعاةِ، وَسَأُعاقِبُ القادَةَ، لِأنَّ اللهَ القَدِيرَ يَهتَمُّ بِبَنِي يَهُوذا. وَهُمْ لَهُ كَفَرَسِ الحَرْبِ البَهِيِّ.

4 O ut of him shall come the corner, out of him the stake, out of him the battle bow, out of him also every oppressor.

«فَمِنهُمْ سَيَأْتِي حَجَرُ الزّاوِيَةِ وَوَتَدُ الخَيمَةِ وَقَوْسُ الحَرْبِ وَكُلُّ الجُنُودِ.

5 ¶ And they shall be as mighty men, who tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle; and they shall fight because the LORD shall be with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.

سَيَكُونُونَ جَمِيعاً مُحارِبِينَ يَدُوسُونَ العَدُوَّ كَطِينِ الشَّوارِعِ فِي زَمَنِ الحَرْبِ. سَيُحارِبُونَ لِأنَّ اللهَ مَعَهُمْ، وَسَيُذِلُّونَ راكِبِي الخَيلِ.

6 F or I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will keep the house of Joseph, and I will cause them to return; for I shall have compassion upon them, and they shall be as though I had not cast them off, for I am the LORD their God and will hear them.

سَأُقَوِّي بَنِي يَهُوذا، وَسَأُنقِذُ شَعبَ يُوسُفَ، وَسَأُعِيدُهُمْ لِأنَّنِي أُشفِقُ عَلَيهِمْ وَأهتَمُّ بِهِمْ. سَأُعامِلُهُمْ كَما لَوْ أنِّي لَمْ أرفُضْهُمْ قَطُّ، لِأنَّنِي أنا إلَهُهُمْ. وَسَأستَجِيبُ لِصُراخِهِمْ.

7 A nd those of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine, their sons shall also see it and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.

سَيَكُونُ شَعبُ أفْرايِمَ كَالمُحارِبِينَ، وَسَيَنتَشُونَ بِالسَّعادَةِ كَمَنْ يَسكَرُ مِنَ الخَمْرِ. سَيَرَى أولادُهُمْ ما حَدَثَ وَيَحتَفِلُونَ، وَسَيَفرَحُونَ كَثِيراً بِما عَمِلَهُ اللهُ لَهُمْ.

8 I will hiss for them and gather them; for I have ransomed them; and they shall be multiplied as they were multiplied.

«سَأدعُوهُمْ لِيَجتَمِعُوا مَعاً لِأنِّي فَدَيتُهُمْ، وَسَيَصِيرُونَ كَثِيرِينَ كَما كانُوا مِنْ قَبلُ.

9 I t was good that I planted them among the peoples; even in far countries there shall be mention made of me; and they shall live with their sons and turn again.

قَدْ شَتَّتُّهُمْ وَسَطَ الشُّعُوبِ، لَكِنَّهُمْ سَيَتَذَكَّرُونَنِي حَتَّى فِي الأماكِنِ البَعِيدَةِ. سَيُرَبُّونَ أولادَهُمْ وَيَعُودُونَ.

10 I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.

سَأُعِيدُهُمْ مِنْ أرْضِ مِصْرَ. وَسَأجمَعُهُمْ مِنْ أشُّورَ. سَأُحضِرُهُمْ إلَى أرْضِ جِلْعادَ وَلُبْنانَ، حَتَّى لا يَبقَى مُتَّسَعٌ.

11 A nd the tribulation shall pass through the sea and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up; and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall be lost.

سَأضرِبُ أمْواجَ البَحْرِ كَما فَعَلْتُ مِنْ قَبلُ، وَسَيجتازُ الشَّعبُ بَحرَ الضِّيقِ. سَأُجَفِّفُ مِياهُ نَهْرِ النِّيلِ. سَأكسِرُ كِبْرِياءَ أشُّورَ، وَأنزِعُ عَصا مِصرَ.

12 A nd I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the LORD.

سَأُقَوِّيهِمْ بِاللهِ ، وَسَيَسِيرُونَ باسمِهِ،» يَقُولُ اللهُ.
